boynigel
Whenever I add an effects block to a given snapshot and save it, it always gets saved as being Active in all my other snapshots by default. Is this by design or am I missing a step? It’s easy enough to go through each snapshot afterwards and simply bypassing the effect and saving it in that state per snapshot, but I'm still wondering if there’s something i'm doing wrong. silverhead
That’s by design. The designers needed to make a default decision about the addition of new blocks. They decided new blocks should be active rather than bypassed by default when added to a preset, snapshots or not. Remember that lots of people never even use snapshots. Probably the best decision imo; in most cases when you add a block you want it active; usually that’s why you’re adding it.

For me it's 50/50 as to whether i need the block active on all snapshots. TY
rd2rk
Annoying, but normal. Workaround: As you add FX, set them OFF and SAVE the preset. You can then set them as desired in each Snapshot. Much less irritating than adding a bunch of FX in SS1, then switching to SS2 and getting HORRIBLE NOISE! I think there's another workaround, but I can't recall it at the moment.

I typically will build a preset as I navigate through a song, so if an effect is not used til later and only on snapshot 3, i already have snapshots 1 and 2 designed, and then adding a block on snapshot 3, thus adds it as active on 1 and 2. I wish there was a setting we could choose if blocks added are active/disabled initially. The only other way I could see would be to save it as a new 'user' default....but offhand I'm not sure if that overrides the bypass state when added. Im pretty sure favorites do, but I dont want to save a favorite for every block i use, when user defaults are the same thing, and easier to access for some things. Post it on Ideascale and post a link here. I'll vote for it!
