jrw74
Having a problem with harshness, or digital clipping, or whatever this evil noise is. With a clean patch (no modules), just a Tele in to the HX and out to the Deluxe Reverb, both at low volumes - it does it. Also does it with my acoustic to the PA. Either way, it happens, but only sometimes, it comes and goes. I can't keep doing shows like this, something has to give. I have patches that sound amazing for both of my rigs, but right in the middle it will just start doing it. Sounds super fuzzy and distorted. Help. I see tons of ways to "fix it" on the larger Helix boards but no info on the HX Effects itself... Set to instrument on I/Os.
silverhead
Sounds to me like a device that needs repair. Open a support ticket for guidance.
rd2rk
Try a factory reset (back up your presets first!). If that doesn't work, open a support ticket.
theElevators
Also check the output level of your device. It may be clipping because the signal is too hot. When going to the PA, it's recommended to use the mic level. Also try factory presets to see if the issue also exists with them. Sometimes people tend to really dime their signal chain. I've seen this on several presets I downloaded from customsound--some were very harsh, loud and noisy.
somebodyelse
Are your outputs set right for the amp? Line level where it should be instrument level? Global settings, check the manual and bear in mind that these settings can get reset to default after a firmware update.
