RRMark
Hiya I have a dep gig coming up and they will be running phantom power on their desk for the drum overheads and it won't turn off on other channels. For my band I normally run Helix floor xlr to desk (no phantom power) and 1/4" to Headrush 108. Would it be ok/safe to run the Headrush XLR link out to the desk. I do have a Behringer DI box (GI100) so could run that from the Helix 2nd 1/4" out. My presets are mono except the reverb at the end of the chain. Don't really want to buy a phantom power blocker for a one off gig. What would you advise please?
rd2rk
AFAIK, DI boxes are designed to BLOCK phantom power from the board to the connected gear: https://gearspace.com/board/audio-student-engineering-production-question-zone/929317-di-measure-protection-phantom-power.html

Whatever, what I was doing back in my HX Floor days (apart from using a phantom power blocker at first, but that was annoying as it actually required phantom power to work, for whatever reasons...) was using the XLR out to feed my monitor while sending the 1/4 out the FOH way, running into a DI box first. Fortunately, these days I don't have to deal with questionable XLR outs anymore...
Schmalle
Go with 1/4" Out -> GI100 -> FOH to block the board's phantom power.

And like SaschaFranck mentioned I can run 1/4" to DI for FOH and XLR to the Headrush, then switch the volume knob setting. Cheers

waymda
Late to the party, but any reason you wouldn't run FoH direct from the out on the Headrush? I can't tell from the manual, but would expect it is a straight passthrough (ie no EQ or gain), and would appear to let you use 1/4 inch to the Headrush and balanced out. It's an option and it'll likely work fine. It adds a ground connection to the mixer which can lead to ground loop issues. Also the same reason of caution with phantom power that @RRMark has should apply to the Headrush Link Out, too.
