datacommando
Happy 10th Anniversary to the Helix. I have been using Line 6 products for approximately quarter of a century. I started out with the red kidney bean POD 2.0, later moving on to the POD XT Live, followed by the POD HD500. I bought my Helix in October 2015, and it has been used almost daily ever since. It just gets better and better, with every FREE update to the Firmware. Even though the outer shell has remained the same, the updates under the hood probably means we are already on Helix Mark3. I would personally like to thank everyone at Line 6 for their consistent aim of seeking modelling perfection. Thanks guys - you have made an old man very happy!
theElevators
Helix Stadium!!! woooohoo!!! I love that they brought back the step design. Not sure if the foot switches are same as before. Looks pretty slick. Not a fan of the thinner EXP pedal... This thing will be so complicated....
javierdp92
Now I have to wait to get a Helix Stadium in Winter...
PaulTBaker
I like smaller, but not sure how it will work in real life... agree about the pedal as well. Can't believe they have SO MUCH MORE STUFF in there.... I spend way too much time tweaking as it is :).... I need to retire so I can have time for this.. Really do NOT like the fact you have to have an adapter for the L6 link... guess that tells you what they think about the PC's. Also glad they said they will keep adding to the original helix, however I guess we will wait and see how that works. But if I'm honest, I love the tones I get now and would be ok if nothing changes... Still have plenty of flexibility to get great gigging sounds! Doesn't seem to be much of a price drop for the exiting:
theElevators
In terms of size, the button spacing is going to be exactly the same. Helix Floor has extra metal "bumpers" on both sides, plus more "padding" after the scribble strips end. Trim that extra metal and you have successfully made it smaller. Same for the expression pedal--it's now more narrow, so that saves even more space. Honestly, if the buttons of the same quality as before, I am not bothering with getting Helix Stadium. I'm constantly nagging how they are not reliable, which for me they are not. Then, all this new technology is way beyond what I would ever need for recording/touring. I've reached a point that if something sounds great and works for me, I don't need to attempt to improve things even more. Furthermore, the thought of redoing everything for me just sounds like a very big headache. Like I've found my ideal signal chain, and I don't need to try to reinvent what works for me. For all new presets, I just take something I've made already, and slightly tweak it. I'm using the same amp/distortion that I discovered back in 2019. The only thing I've changed was last year I started adding a compressor between the amp and a cab, which does wonders. Helix Floor / LT for me are a complete guitar sound solution, which I know inside-out. The same could not be said about the Pod HD series, for example: no snapshots, no acoustic simulator, very limited signal chain, clunky and unintuitive UI. When I go on tour, I have to have an exact compatible backup processor with me at all times... If I switch over to the Helix Stadium, I'd need to buy 2 of them... that's a lot of money lol. I foresee an even further price drop on the Helixes soon. I remember Pod HD 500X were going for as low as 400USD towards the end, several years after the Helix was introduced. So maybe I'll just get another backup Helix for myself and continue to beat up my current 2 Helixes.
Gary-Paul
Can anybody tell me which ADSP chip is being used in the stadium line?
rwandering
I am definitely getting one of the new units, and probably the XL. A few comments. Wow. This new product looks amazing, and that Line6 really listened to the customers and has leap-frogged the competition. Of course, I'm assuming it will sound amazing. I am very excited to play through it, and have an XL on order. I think the naming of the form factors is a little counter intuitive, but that's the least important. There is a benefit to being able to say "Floor" vs "LT" without ambiguity, because "Stadium" is both a product family and a SKU. Update: Erik called these "Floor XL" and "Floor" in the intro video. I'm guessing they'll have smaller versions in the future (like the HX Stomp) given how successful that form factor appears to be. I wish it still had AES/BEU onboard, but I do like that it has expanded digital I/O capabilities. I wish the smaller one had scribble strips, but I suppose that the product differentiation might not support a whole separate SKU. I always use a pedal when live, so the XL has what I need (and so much more). I will probably sell my LT and keep using my HX Stomp when onstage space is at a premium (until and if they release a new small Stadium). As much as we say "nobody from Line6 reads this board", the live stream suggested otherwise, so hey Line6, this ones for you!

I think that in the livestream, the references about listening to the customer base, was more about those folks over on The Gear Page, the 45,000 people in the Facebook group and stuff from IdeaScale, rather than in here. Plus according to Digital_Igloo they were making lists of suggestions about what should be in "Helix2", or "Stadium" as it is now known, from way back in 2017 (and that includes Eric's pet Touch Screen). rwandering
They literally had this forum on their live stream graphic and Erik said they read everything (generally, never mentioning this site), and yes, he did call out some communities. I think both things are true: the (frequent) questions on this site for Line6 will not be answered and Line6 gathers intelligence here. jmcecil
I've had the Helix Floor for nearly the entire 10 years (9+) .. Stadium XL already on pre-order! I still play on the Helix every day. It's one of the best price to usage technology items I've ever purchased. If we get 10 quality years out of Stadium, it's money well spent.
