Help. Helix floor TAP LEDs 1/2 out intermittently.

Hi guys,
I Please need some help.

I sent my out of warranty Helix Floor in for service/repair recently.
(I almost worked on it myself but didn’t want the pressure).
Anyway, two of the TAP LEDs have been intermittently going out and back on again.
The left two LEDs were out at first, then the righttwo.
They would go back and forth weeks at a time, sometimes ALL would go out.
I sprayed some contact cleaner from the top of all the switches for good measure (preventative maintenance) and they all went out for a few days then all came back on for a couple of days then the exact same issue came back again.
Two LEDs out at a time intermittently for weeks at a time finally settling on the right two being out.
I took it to the repair shop with the right two LEDs out.
It is a Line 6 authorized repair facility nearby and the tech said he didn’t find any issues other than the TAP LEDs issue.
He texted me this findings and asked for any more details on the issue so he would be clear.
I texted him the details above and also offered what I found online: try reflowing the solder joints, cleaning the area and I also offered sources I found for Helix parts.
After a day or two he said he reflowed the solder joints and reseated the switch & LEDs.
He said the LEDs finally went back on and we decided to close out the repair ticket. So I brought my Helix home but a few days later, the issue is back.
1/2 the LEDs are out again on the TAP switch. This time the left two are out.
Could anyone PLEASE HELP with some advice or experience so I can maybe steer the tech in the right direction to get a proper repair when I take it back?
I’ve already had it in the shop over a month and will probably have it in the shop for a few months again from what I can tell from our texts.

I almost wish I had just opened it up myself or took it to Calabassas directly to have it repaired.
Line 6 isn’t too far from me anyway.

Well here’s hoping for some help or direction.
I can’t understand what could be going on with these LEDs, I hope there is nothing else going on related.
thanks in advance.

-Dave.

I would ask the repair tech to contact Line 6; it shouldn’t be your job to give him/her information about how to do theirs. If the repair is beyond their ability then they should ship it to Line 6 for proper repair. And that shouldn’t be at your cost.

I would also escalate the issue by opening a support ticket and requesting that Line 6 Support intervene on your behalf.

I know this post is a bit old, but my Helix has the same problem.  3 of the lights don't work (the ones on the bottom right) tap tempo button doesn't light up at all, and the other two don't fully work. One only works with the color blue, and the other blinks and doesn't blend the colors correctly. I've thought about opening it up and reflowing the solder but this post kind of makes me feel it's pointless to do. Everything works normally though. Should I just move on as well? Did you end up just leaving it as is?

Re-soldering new LEDs is a very delicate hard job, and most "authorized" repair shops will not bother with it.  I sent mine to Line 6, after opening a ticket, and it was repaired promptly.  To fix it, you need to re-solder these delicate microscopic LEDs to the PCB.  This type of work is not something most DIY-ers can do either, you need proper equipment, or else you will break everything.  Not to mention disassembly/reassembly which is a giant pain in the ....

If your Helix is like 10 years old, you should just consider getting a new one.  Because it won't be worth it, if something else breaks while you have fully-functioning LEDs.  Just my opinion.
