BucF16
Seems like a stupid question but I can't get the thing out of the guitar! Is there a trick to it or am I just afraid to pull as hard as I need to to get the trem arm out of the bridge!
denizturgut
You need to turn the tremelo arm counter clock wise . Its basicly a screw
cruisinon2
It screws in...righty tighty, lefty loosy.
radatats
There is also a tiny set screw that keeps the tension on the bar that may need to be released as well. Here is a link to a great article about setting up your trem, has a lot of detailed pics and is really helpful. https://www.cx.com/0/io/hotlink/YPIXs8oREeOMhyICCluF4w/Tyler_Variax_JTV-69_Tremolo_Setup_111030.pdf
diggerbarnz
funny - I've looked @ that article more than once & somehow missed that arm was threaded as well
BucF16
Yep, I feel stupid. I has the feel of a pop-in arm, especially with the adjustable tension screw. I could have sworn I popped it in and didn't thread it in. Again, a plea for better documentation! The manual has a ton of stuff about the models and very little about the actual guitar. Ironically it was the fantastic owners manuals of the Axsys and Vetta that originally drew me to Line6 products. Sadly, those contributors have either moved on, been promoted or been out-sourced. radatats
FWIW - I'm the creator of this JTV-69 Tremolo Doc - if you have any further questions - just ask Thanks so much for that great article... Hope you don't mind me reposting it here... My trem did not come with the white clamp you show so I will be adding that later... I don't currently have any real issues with sticking but if it should have been there I will make the correction...
Charlie_Watt
The newer trem doesn't need that clip.
stevekc
in my case - my JTV-69 Tremolo Setup Doc reflects what Line6 was using for production JTV-69's back in October 2011 I have not seen a recent JTV-69 Tremolo to compare it too. Also "that internal White Nylon Clip" attached inside under the tremolo Bar Screw is strictly for internal cable management, so the piezo saddle cables do not bind up or cause friction during whammy bar use. Else this happens More here: https://www.cx.com/0/io/hotlink/YPIXs8oREeOMhyICCluF4w/Tyler_Variax_JTV-69_Tremolo_Setup_111030.pdf http://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=9371.
