Showcase Audio Works Fine Then Disappears

Wondering if anyone else is having this issue. I load tracks into a new song, put in cues for Snapshot changes, set levels in the Matrix Mixer, etc, and everything works and sounds great. Really great! Then I step aside for a bit, come back, and the song still runs but no audio from the song tracks appear on the mixer. The song window shows the song playing, and my guitar and the mic are still there, but nothing on the song tracks. Also, the names I gave the Mixer channels are back to Track 1, Track 2. Restarting doesn't restore it. This happened once before, and playing with solo buttons eventually made it magically reappear. Not so this second time. Anyone having a similar issue?

Yep, I'm experiencing the exact same problem.  Also, I know that the signal path is working because I'm able to get the click track/metronome output to the external amp, but the music does not come through.  The only thing I'm doing is turning off the Helix after a day of practice and the next morning, the bug presents itself and I'm unable to hear the Showcase track.  I'm running the current 1.2 release.

I'm having this same issue. When putting the songs onto the board with the pc software, I renamed the track there first and then transferred, which helped with the name reverting back to track 1 problem. The problem is when I turn it off and the next time I turn it on, the audio from the songs won't play or show up as present on the headphone out mixing screen, but the audio is still stored on the board, because the audio still shows up on the screen, but doesn't play the audio at all. I wasn't sure if the flags disappearing was from my error in not saving it properly before closing down, but seeing that this is a serious issue, I'm not so sure its me that's the problem. It worked fine until I turn it off and the audio and flags are just gone afterwards, with the flags completely absent from the monitor screen and the audio visible, but not playing.

Also, I don't think the snapshots are saving individual set parameters from the pedal settings, just the on/off states for each effect pedal slot. For example, if I set one snapshot to have 70's chorus with a heavy effect and another snapshot with that same 70s chorus with a lighter effect, it doesn't save that change, it just leaves the setting on wherever I left it last for both snapshots. I can't imagine this is by design, as my much less expensive Headrush Flex Prime pedal can easily do this.

Otherwise, the Showcase feature is truly amazing. The first time I ran through a song, my muscle memory was so hard wired it felt wrong and strange to not hit a pedal to change my sound. To trust the machine seemed a bizarre leap of faith, but by the end of the song I realized how much easier it is to play and not have to focus on my foot too. Adjusting in/out levels on the fly is a breeze too. I know they released this feature early, so I'm glad to finally see it, but I probably won't mess with it again until this is patched up.

Got showcase update and haven’t even got that far. WAV files show up as whole song and not broke up into individual tracks to edit. Online manual says files are editable from either computer app or after transferring. Success with transfer but not able to edit.

When transferring WAV files from the Stadium app to the device, each WAV file becomes one track in the Song. You can transfer up to 8 WAV files at a time, meaning up to 8 tracks in a Song. If you transfer a single file you get a Song with a single track.

The tracks are not editable after transferring in either the app or the device, at least not in the same way they can be edited in, say, a DAW. You have minimal editing capabilities on the device, and none in the app. For instance, you can rename tracks, or move tracks up/down to reorder them. But you can’t, for instance, create split points to create an audio gap by deleting between split points, or to create two new tracks by splitting/dragging audio clips into a different track. You need to do that sort of editing on your computer before transferring the WAV files. You might be able to drag a track to reposition the audio in the Song, for instance if one the WAV files should only be heard in the Chorus; I haven’t tried that.

So even though this is an issue that they will fix, there might be a workaround.  The support guy told me that doing a full reset and deleting and reloading the tracks. could help (he tried it himself).

I did.  And so far it has survived multiple off and on trip.  We’ll see how long it lasts, but it’s a huge improvement.

drexell,  I am just now working with Showcase and have to export each track as a stem from Reaper.  Once I have up to 8 stem files exported per song I can then import into the Stadium XL per song to use the Matrix for level setting what I want to hear (bass, drums, keyboards, click, cue, etc.).  I am still a novice with Showcase so I have yet to get to any big problems.

Hi, I experience the same audio loss after reboot problem described above. I went through the steps that Dandesy mentioned:

backup (maintenance menu)

factory reset (maintenance menu)

restore backup (maintenance menu)

delete songs (Showcase screen)

reimport (Stadium App)

But I still lose audio after turning SXL off/on. Not sure what else to try - I guess I will have to wait for FW 1.3 :-)

I do not have to factory reset - the songs play ok after import, then no audio after turning off/on. If I just delete the tracks and re-import them, the audio is back on, but just until the next off/on. I am too hoping it will be dealt with in 1.3.

Here’s the only difference I did which has worked for me. Hope it works for you too.

Delete songs (maintenance menu)

backup (maintenance menu)

factory reset (maintenance menu)

restore backup (maintenance menu)

reimport (Stadium App)

For me the solution was to do the factory reset and the reimport preset backups. When i restored the backup the problem appears again. So i just backuped the presets to the computer, do the factory reset, and reimport the presets,

This appears to be a problem even with the latest update.  Does anyone else still have the problem?

Double check that the latest firmware version (1.2.1.1314) is actually installed. Use the latest app (v1.2.1.3) and check the Help->About info. The firmware version wil show as v1.2.1. Click on it to display the installed subversion. If it's not 1314 reinstall the firmware.

I've just had this for the first time about ten minutes ago.  I have ten songs stored, the top 7 have no sound but the last three play fine - all previously ok.

I have checked the version 1.2.1.1314 and the software is 1.2.1.3.

As its just happened I haven't tried reinstalling yet

Anyone experiencing this should open a support ticket to officially bring it to the attention of Line 6.

Also, no need to reinstall if versions 1.2.1.1314 (firmware) and 1.2.1.3 (app) are visibly installed.

Has anyone with the no sound issue checked the signal level bars by turning on the global eq, even without adjusting it, to see if there is a signal coming through at that point then check the Matrix levels.

Upon applying the 1.2.1.xxx update I did have a couple of interesting issues.  This may not directly apply here but I thought I would share that my Matrix levels were not quite right.  A few of the matrix levels had been zeroed.   When I first used the Stadium XL with the 1.2.1.xxx I had no sound and thought I broke something.  I even made sure my guitar vol pots were set right and using my other amps and modelers to check.  Not sure why I went straight to the Matrix levels at that point to check though when I was checking the global eq I did note that I saw the signal levels working fine even with no sound coming into my playback devices.

Just checked my Global EQ and Matrix and although the song is playing visually via the Waveform, there in no sound or signal levels in both the Global EQ and Matrix.  On my last three songs (backing tracks) that do sound, signal levels and sound are fine.

I've just reinstalled the seven backing tracks that lost their sound and now they all play fine - hope it lasts :-)

GAJ52,

Thank you so much for sharing your trial and error findings.  I am finally getting some new stems created.  I am hoping to have my first polished tracks ready.  Please let us know if your backing tracks have sound over the next few days as you use/turn off/turn on and use again.  If not, and if mine stop working over the next week or less, we will both need to create a new trouble ticket with Line 6 since I know more users have been waiting for this update to fix the "no sound" on backing tracks issue.

Thank you for the idea silverhead.  I have verified the version as Firmware 1.2.1 and the tracks show as blank.  After I had updated to this firmware, I put the tracks on.  They played fine.  After powering off and rebooting ,  they appeared blank.  No wave forms are visible in the tracks.
