Helix Lag - NOT related to Echo, or Reverb

Greetings all,

My 4-month old Helix floor has developed a problem.  When I first turn it on, it works normally.  After playing for about 15-minutes, it develops a lag on the output.

Just using Amp US Deluxe NRM, with no echo, or reverb active, I will play a note, and then it will be approximately 1.5 seconds before the audio output plays.

I was trying to record in Logic Pro X at the time.  There were no plug-ins at all in Logic.

At first I thought that maybe there was an electronic glich within my Variax Standard, or perhaps the Variax cable went bad.  I put the Variax away, and took out my Strat.  Same issue.

I powered off the Helix, and waited a few minutes.  When I turned it on again, it played normally for a while, and then the lag happened again.  My conclusion is that the problem is within the Helix.

Tomorrow, I am going to try a factory reset, and see what happens.  It sucks to have spent this kind of money, and have it start messing up within four months.

Has anyone else had this issue, or better yet, solved this issue?

Thank you,

Lamont

When I have my Helix connected to the computer and am running HX Edit, HX Edit frequently crashes and when that happens I cannot change my presets, and sometimes sounds.  Restarting HX Edit, then closing it fixes the "stuck" problem.  So maybe the fact that you're connected with a USB cable causes this problem.

So I'm wondering if you had HX Edit running, which caused this.  Or if not, if it's simply the USB cable being plugged in.

Hi,

I’m trying to understand exactly what you are describing here, because you also mention Logic Pro X.

Does the “lag” occur while powered up, and not connected to Logic, or are you describing an issue that happens only when hooked up to Logic.

I’m seeking clarification because if your DAW is part of the problem, there could be myriad reasons for your situation. If this is occurring during “normal” usage, then that is most likely a hardware problem and may require more investigation.

If you have performed a Factory Reset, and blown out any possible bugs, please let us know, as it may be helpful to other users.

Hope this helps/makes sense.
