AirTug
Just a quickie. Are the high gain pickup models now available for all JTV's or is it still just the JTV 89? Thanks

arislaf
The body is called neutral, and the pick ups 89 Bridge and 89 neck. Now if they are good, is matter of taste, To my ears yes.
clay-man
Can someone do a dry comparison between an LP and the 89 pickups? Just wonder how different they sound.

clay-man
https://soundcloud.com/aris-laf/89-les-paul There it is and excuse me for my delay. Very awesome! Thank you so much. Seems the 89 is a bit brighter. I'd probably try to stick 89 pickups in a LP body to make an In Flames-esque metal patch. I'm not sure. It's times like this I want to have my hands on a JTV.

Hey, I will try that and see what happens, I will upload a sound with a 89 PU in a LP and try it out!
clay-man
Oh thank you! You didn't have to. Just thinking about stuff out loud. I know In Flames uses EMGs which are not exactly high gains but I'd say it's more close. I wonder if they could model active pickups. clay-man
Woah, dynamics sound a lot different. Thank you so much for the demonstrations!
DarrellM5
Yeah, big differences. I definitely like the Les Paul bridge better. I'd probably take the 89 with Les Paul bridge over the others.
