  1. Here is a video I found of what your bridge should look like Sergio. https://youtu.be/9itJCmOZC-k This is a video that shows how to change to a new bridge, but it gives a good view of your existing bridge and circuit board. Looks like you could attach the hot wires to the same location as the existing pads. All the grounds could be attached to the common ground pads where you see the green wires attached.

    HD500X + M5

DUH, I see, TRS to LR for the send AND a pair of TS for the returns.

    HD500X + M5

OK Zap, why a pair of TS AND an Insert cable?

    HD500X + M5

Is anyone using both of these together? If so, I would be interested in how you configured it. FX Loop? HD into M5? What about the midi part? If you set it up as an FX loop, and if midi in the HD can tell the M5 what patch to call up, then the loop can be located anywhere in the chain for any given patch. I anxiously await some advice.
  5. It would be an added value to be able to remove amps, cabs and fx we are not using. There are several amps that I will never use.

  7. I posted the fix for this in "FOLLOW THE BOUNCING MONKEY".
  8. I personally love the amount of control L6 has given us, over the wah models. 20 years ago, I used to modify wah pedals so that you could dial in the start and finish point. I have always found most wahs to have the top end to be way to brittle and the low to be too bassy and muddy. Being able to control those points is crucial.
  9. I heard they were adding BUGGY FUZZ as a new stomp model.
  10. MAC PRO with Yosemite, Variax Workbench, Variax 500 working just fine here.
  11. Totally understand that Max…. another big plus for me is the satin finish on the neck. My main reason for not liking the 600 very much was the gloss neck finish. Again, another personal preference.
  12. OH, OK, well the triangle areas that I originally soldered to were scraped off with an xacto knife. The new spots were exposed with a dremel so the were smaller.
  13. I used a Dremel Tool to skim off the conformal coating and exposed the copper ground below. What is this supposed to mean: (never put Graph Techs on a 500/700 - only a 300),
  14. I would start off by taking anything out of HAL that is not necessary. There are a couple of other folders in there like iSightAudio.driver and InstantOn.driver. You should be able to leave those alone and just look for drivers with a .plugin extension. In MY Hal folder, digidisign was the only thing floating without a folder.
  15. Just a heads up. This has been covered elsewhere but it reared it's ugly head last night so here goes. I'm on a MAC PRO. I have waited a long time to upgrade to Yosemite mostly because my DAW of choice wasn't supporting it but now that they released an update and L6 also released their updates, I figured what the hell, let's do this. So I had already updated the DAW software and had already flashed my pod and installed a model pack and then I pulled the trigger on Yosemite. When it all came back to life, launching Gear Monkey resulted in a bouncing monkey head in my task bar that eventually stopped bouncing and did nothing. I started searching the forum here….. One says to completely uninstall and reinstall Monkey One says to completely uninstall and reinstall an older version of Monkey One says upgrade java …. see where this is going? Finally I came across the REAL answer, so, hopefully this will save some of you from going through the hour if digging that I experienced last night. Located in my "My Computer\Library\Audio\Plug-Ins\HAL" folder was on old Digidesign CoreAudio.plugin that was for hardware that i haven't had in years. All I had to do was delete that file and restart my machine and everything was back to normal. If you experience the same issue, I suggest you look in that spot first.
  16. I understand the concept of "Dream Rig" however, for me, having a Variax and the 500x is as dreamy as it gets. The amp is only dreamy for you and the 5 people sitting in front of your amp. If the dream isn't being faithfully replicated through the pa, in the words of a famous songwriter, "the dream is gone"!

    Firmware 2.6

OK but the problem with some of us is that when you try to click on it, You get automatically bounced to the next amp model and you can't actually access this "Acoustic" watchamacallit.
  18. I currently own 3 500's. I love them, the neck is better, plus I like the style even though one of mine is a Warmoth tele body. Anyway, I own the USB interface. It works fine, it's just a pain, switching from one box to the other. I owned a les paul style JTV and hated it. Don't need or use the magnetic pickups and out of all the JTV models, strat and paul's that I have tried at GC, the necks are much fatter and just not suited for "me". The necks on the 500's are closer to those on the MIM Fenders and I like it.
  19. I'll second that! Now that they have this process in place, perhaps well see some new stumpy things! Can anyone say POG2??
  20. So here is a picture of my solutions until Line6 decides to do something different. This is the same button guard you find in the cockpit of the space shuttle. Works nicely and now my size 12 "clown shoes" can't trigger an accidental loop. If I need to access the button, I can still push it with my finger or my little toe.
  21. So after test fit, the ground locations were in a bad spot.. Guess I knew that before even trying but I had to try first. I moved the location as I proposed earlier and here is the outcome. Going to perform the installation tomorrow.
