  1. So, by "Mute" you mean that you BYPASS the S/R Blocks. Try what I did. Route the signals for both S/R Loops AROUND the FX. That is, left send to left return, right to right, no FX in either loop. If, as was my experience, the audio did not cut out regardless of the BYPASS state of the S/R Blocks, then the problem must be with the FX configuration within the Loops.
  2. "I want to be able to fly by flapping my arms." "Create arm attachments made of feathers and wax." "It would be easier to fly if you built a flying machine." "NO! OP wants to fly by flapping his arms! Why don't you understand that?" "OP - I just want to be able to fly!" So, you think that OP would be happier changing his Global settings every time he changes guitars, vs being able to build multi guitar flexibility into his presets? As usual, you'd rather be insulting than reasonable. OP - what say ye?
  3. A gain block is a wasted block. Not as practical on HXS as on the full Helix. It's only Global unless it isn't. There's no law that says it HAS to be Global. I'm pretty sure that OP just wants something that works. And, as said, flexible is better. If L6 can incorporate the flexibility of the gain block into the Input Block, what's wrong with that?
  4. Because if the pad were accessible per preset, you could just use a a FS or SS to turn it ON/OFF. As for "THE BOSS WAY", more flexibility is always a good thing, but it should still be adjustable per preset, even if it's in steps. Maybe BOSS has a different definition of GLOBAL than L6 but if so, I doubt that's going to change. It's a lot more likely that L6 could implement this in the Input Block, like they did with the impedance setting.
  5. I routed both loops directly to their respective Returns (no external FX). When you say "Mute", if you're using the level controls of the S/R Blocks, that'll happen. Using BYPASS, no combination of S/R blocks causes the signal to cut out.
  6. The Floor/Rack/LT have an Input Pad. The HXS has a INST/LINE setting that does the same thing. Unfortunately, these are GLOBAL settings, and can't be accessed per preset.
  7. If you have an EXTERNAL stereo looper you can send the Main L/Mono to one side and the Send R to the other, then pan the stereo looper L/R to keep the signal chains separate. All 3 devices use the same Output Block. The Helix Floor has 4 FX Loops, so you could combine 2 as a Stereo Loop and use a 3rd for whatever.
  8. No. It's not the FX Loop that's the problem. EVERYTHING in the signal path goes out BOTH Main Outs. You can pan EVERYTHING Left, OR EVERYTHING Right. To separate the paths you have to send Path A to the MAIN Outs, and Path B to the SEND. Or vice versa. You MUST separate the sends as I described to send different signals to the two amps. AND you must prevent the Path B signal from re-entering the Main Outs by turning OFF the Path B Level at the Mix Block.
  9. Unless I misunderstood, it's a Floor, 2 LTs and an HXFX. A BOLD vision! It's possible that Google Translate is part of the problem!
  10. OP has a bold vision, but seems to be having problems with lions and tigers and bears randomly popping out of the woodwork. I've done all I can, but I feel like I'm playing Whack-a-Mole, and it seems I've only succeeded at poking a hornet's nest. You can't win them all! But you CAN make the best of a bad situation by mixing as many metaphors as possible....
  11. :) :) :) And he tells me someding about K.I.S.S. ... These Americans. What is true of others does not apply to them. Mitakuye oyasin That equipment resides in two locations - my office and my home studio. All of it is connected in traditional fashion - not some grandiose "World's largest digital pedal board" scheme. I tried my best to help you, but every day you have a new problem. K.I.S.S absolutely applies. Don't say "Thank You" if you don't mean it, in any language. It's not just Americans who are offended.
  12. I give up. This will be my final post. NONE of the "BUGS" that you are experiencing exist in ANY of my devices, including Helix Floor, HXS, mixers, computers, Audio Interfaces, eDrums, Synths, Powercab, other powered FRFR speakers or tube amps. It's possible that the third-world electrical system in your house has already damaged your devices. My final suggestions: 1) Get a proper electrician to check out your wiring and grounds. 2) Get the highest quality line conditioning equipment (UPS with AVR) that you can find. 3) Start over with your devices, as though they just arrived at your door. Re-flash the FW on all of them and DO NOT restrore from backup, start over. If you're able to verify (one device at a time) that there are no "BUGS" anymore, THEN restore ONLY the presets. DO NOT restore ANYTHING from your failed "LARGEST DIGITAL PEDALBOARD IN THE WORLD" project. Start over. 4) Remember K.I.S.S. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
  13. Check that you have the latest version of the FW installed on your HXFX (v3.11). IDK about the HXFX, but to see the version on my HXS you need to be in HX Edit and look on the ABOUT page. The version that appears on the main HX Edit screen is the HX Edit version. It might also display on the Splash Screen when you boot the HXFX. I suggest this because when I put Native into HXFX compatibility mode, 4wah wouldn't import, missing models error. When I checked the Native version, it was 3.01 and didn't have the Hot Springs reverb. Once I updated to Native v3.11 it imported, no problem. After reading your edited post, I'm 99% sure that's the problem, since the 4 wah preset did load in your floor. Update the HXFX, load the presets into the intended units (HXFX and Helix Floor) and go from there. Attached is a version of 4 wah that was saved in Native HXFX Compatibility mode with a reverb that was in the earlier (3.01) version. It should load into your HXFX. I'll have a look at your presets tomorrow. 4 Wah HXFX.hlx
  14. Yes. You're not doing it right. Follow the signal on Path A. Where is it entering Path B? If you can't figure it out, attach your preset and I'll revisit it this evening.
  15. Yes, level was also assigned to MIDI. Another baffling choice - a 1db range? Whatever. The tests ran all night, no problem. I'm looking at your most recent post and, again baffled as to what you're doing. I don't understand how you can control the wah parameters on the HXFX using EXP1 on the LT/Floor except via MIDI, and it looks like you've assigned the parameters to EXP1, NOT MIDI! That should only work with an External Expression pedal attached to the HXFX. You said you don't have that yet, so... I don't get it. Attach your 4 wah preset and your Floor preset that you're using to control it. Here's mine, it goes on the HXFX. Here's also the MIDI Control preset for the Floor (NOT for the LT - I use 10 stomp mode, be sure to change your Globals). Disregard the labels , the 4 left-most footswitches on the lower row (7-10) correspond to the 4 wahs. THU MIDI.hlx 4 Wah.hlx
  16. Here's what I did: On my HXS I created a preset with 4 wahs and 4 of the most DSP intensive FX. The HXFX is, in terms of DSP and MIDI, essentially the same as the HXS. I assigned Bypass and Position to MIDI messages that I already use in existing presets (I use them for controlling plugins) on my Helix Floor. I then connected the HXS to the Helix Floor by MIDI cable. In Reaper, I recorded a MIDI track in which I turned ON each wah, operated the treadle 0-100 (works flawlessly) twice, then turned OFF that wah. I repeated the process with each of the 4 wahs, then set the track to LOOP. I'll leave it running all night and get back to you in the morning. If nothing crashes, I'll ask you to attach your 4 wah preset. As long as it has 8 or less FX it should load fine on my HXS. I'll look for problems, then tomorrow night I'll repeat the test using your preset. If all goes well, it may be that there's a problem either with the MIDI configuration on one of your devices, or a problem with one of the devices. I sleep now. Talk to you in the morning.
  17. No. This is hard to explain, but I'll try. If you plug, for instance, a Guitar into L/Mono Input, and a Bass into R Input, then, at the split, pan A (L/Mono Input) hard Left and B (R Input) hard Right, then, at the MIX Block, do the same, you'll get totally isolated Guitar and Bass signal paths. You cannot, however, Pan EITHER to one output OR the other. Whatever comes down the A/B Paths is going to BOTH Outputs, in the balance set by the Output Block Pan slider. IOW - you can get MORE/LESS of one or the other, but it's going out BOTH Outputs. By connecting your Amp2 Input to the R Main Out, you're routing the Amp1 signal into the Amp 2 Input. You're also possibly routing the Path B signal into the Amp1 Return, depending on how the upstream Pans are set. That's why I suggested that you use a Send R Block on Path B with the MIX Block's B Level OFF and the Right (RING) Send to Amp2. That totally isolates Path B from Path A, preventing Amp1 from hitting Amp2 via the Right Main Out. Make sense? No? Trust me on this. As I type this, my guitar is on L/Mono In, my bass is on R In. I have Path A set up with guitar FX, Path B with bass FX. Path B is routed out the SEND to my bass amp, Path A is routed out the Main Outputs to my Mixer (with input from my laptop for backing tracks) and on to a stereo amp. And never the A/B twain shall meet!
  18. OK. As long as you're having FUN and, once in a while, playing your guitar!
  19. Edit: Try this. Get an INSERT cable (TRS to Dual Mono) and take the RING lead to Amp2. Put a Send R Block at the end of Path B. At the MIX Block, set the Path B Level to -60db (OFF). The TIP lead remains your 4cm for amp 1. If that doesn't work: Attach your preset (not a screenshot) and I'll see if I can duplicate the problem. What amps are you using?
  20. Glutton for punishment? I might be subconsciously trying to atone for some wrong I did someone (something) somewhere, sometime in this (or another) lifetime, possibly in a parallel universe.
  21. I had to re-read the entire thread - a couple of times - to make sense of your last post. I think. So, now you have 2 LTs and an HXFX somehow wired together with something or other (or many somethings) on one or more of the three devices, all trying to be controlled by one expression pedal on one or another of the LTs via MIDI (which we already determined won't work). Got it. Makes total sense. What happened to the expression pedal you ordered? Did you really MAKE a Y cable for it? Add wild card #362,764? The freezing (which is what I was asking about) seems to have stopped, maybe, possibly because you eliminated a few of the 362,764 wild cards, but you're not sure, you think that the HXFX might be defective, and you're wondering if someone with an HXFX can test your theory, how?**** TBH, I have no clue what you're onto with this Rube Goldberg contraption you've assembled. That might seem mean, but.... Buddy Holly plugged a Stratocaster into a Bassman amp. Just sayin'....maybe it's time to consider the K.I.S.S. theory? :-) ****I have a Helix Floor and a HXS (different locations). The HXFX is basically an HXS without amps. If you can describe IN SIMPLE TERMS what EXACTLY you want me to test, I'll give it a go.
  22. I just tried it. From Native, first drag the IR, then drag the preset. If you drag the preset first you'll get an error message. Just click ok then drag the IR.
  23. No, you need to have the IR on your Helix. I don't know if IRs in Native are also drag'n'drop, but if the IR is on your computer then you can just drag and drop from it's folder.
  24. Drag'n'drop, then configure the Input and Output Blocks as needed. If you're controlling anything via MIDI, you'll need to assign those to the physical switches/Exp pedals.
  25. Is Global Settings>Ins/Outs>RETURN TYPE set to RETURN? If not, the signal from the FX Loop (the Fender) is returning directly to both outputs. Make sure it's set to RETURN.
