  1. It didn't help. This new system just doesn't like my Helix for some reason. I went back to my Focusrite Scarlett and I have no issues at all. I'd prefer not to have 2 stages of conversion, but I guess that's how it has to be for now. I appreciate your help though!
  2. I had no idea that windows did that by default. This didn't quite solve the problem unfortunately. :(
  3. Hi everyone, I recently built a new PC, and I am having issues with playing system audio when using the Helix as my soundcard. I did not have this problem with my old system, so I know that it isn't a hardware issue. When I first open my DAW after I boot up my computer, or watch YouTube videos, the audio will not play until I either disconnect and reconnect the USB cable multiple times or disable/enable in the playback devices window. It will then work for awhile, but if I leave the computer idle for any more than 5 minutes the problem returns. I have played with the sample rate, reinstalled the drivers, and checked the usb cable, and nothing seems to be helping. I have no idea what else to try, so if anyone has experienced similar issues or knows what the problem might be, I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance, Tyler.
  4. Hello, I am planning to use my POD HD500X live in the future, and I would like to change my panning within my presets for different parts of songs, and I am wondering how I would do that when connected to a mixer? I am currently using both XLR outputs and connecting them to two channels of my mixer, and I have them both panned to the centre. The problem is, the mixer in the POD has individual pan controls for the A and B paths, so they have absolutely no effect. The only other thing I can think of is changing the volumes of the A and B paths. I apologize if this doesn't really make sense, I will try to make things clearer if you have questions. If anyone has any advice on this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tyler.
  5. Thanks for the responses, everyone. I'll just use the 1/4" outputs, then I can turn everything down and not worry about clipping. I'm in a small room so it shouldn't be a problem.
  6. Ahh, I didn't know the XLR outs were mic level. That is kind of annoying since the 1/4" outputs are unbalanced. I don't really want to use a DI box.
  7. I am currently using a laptop, so I don't have a S/PDIF input. When I record, my guitar track doesn't clip at unity gain, so I am probably ok.
  8. Hello, I connect my XLR outputs on the PODHD500X to a set of KRK Rockit 5 monitors, and the signal is extremely weak and I have to crank the level on the speakers, the level on my monitor controller, and the master output on the POD to get adequate volume out of the speakers. I have even started boosting the levels on the mixer to about +3 dB, but I don't want to go higher than that cause I don't know if I am clipping. I think it is pathetic that there is no indicator on the pod to tell you if you are clipping or not. Is there any way I can monitor this? There is an output meter on POD Farm, but not in the HD Edit software. Thanks in advance
  9. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I will try the Amp/Line switch method as soon as I get some XLR - 1/4" cables. The Nano Patch seems like a pretty good option too.
  10. That is what I have been doing, but it gets pretty annoying having to do it repeatedly.
  11. I recently started recording vocals with my POD, and I want to turn the XLR outputs (connected to my studio monitors) off while I am recording so that I don't get any bleed into the mic. I want the headphone output to remain on so I can monitor with headphones while recording, Is this possible, or can someone recommend some kind of external controller that will allow me to do this? Thanks, Tyler
  12. I have recently purchased an FBV Shortboard to use with POD Farm, and there is about a half second delay when I switch between setlists, and even tones within a setlist. This isn't a problem for recording, but I plan on using POD Farm live at some point, so I need really fast switching. The function 1 control works fast to switch between Tone A/B, but it takes awhile to change setlists. Is there any way to fix this?
