  1. Happens to me almost every time I use Helix for more than about 45 minutes. Haven't read anything official or otherwise indicating any fix, much less even an acknowledgment of a possible problem.
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if they add this in a firmware update. The ideascale entry has quite a few votes.
  3. No there's not, currently. You'd have to use some sort of external method for this.

    Lots of bugs...

As it is right now, it looks to be designed for a maximum of 1080p. I'm hopeful, but skeptical they'll get the UI for the editor right. I'm ready to be disappointed though. But that doesn't mean it won't be better than sustaining yourself in a contorted position. Shouldn't take much to be better than that scenario. It might even be enough to shove the disappoint in the corner and forget about it. The updater I don't have any problems with, mostly because it's hardly ever used.

    New Helix owner

I've had Helix for for about six months now, and as long as you have a lasting passion for the guitar and what it can do musically, chances are you won't be disappointed with Helix for a very long time. Nearly every time I pick up my guitar and play it through Helix, I still find it to be an inspiring experience. Helix is a large part of that.

    Lots of bugs...

It doesn't even fill a 1440, even when made as tall as it can go. This was surprising to me, because one of the bigger complaints, or so it seemed, about the editor for the HD was that it was not scalable. Having said that, I can see there not being much use for scalability with the current Helix app, widthwise anyway. But certainly there shouldn't be a problem making it as tall as the monitor resolution, regardless of what that resolution might be. Even if you use the monitor in portrait mode, it shouldn't be a problem and it should fill the entire height. There's no need to cater to the lowest common denominator with user interfaces. That just seems lazy to me. A good UI shouldn't be dependent at all on resolution.
  7. You know you want to get a Helix... You can't resist... It's futile... :D I remember looking at a Logidy in the recent past to use for reverb.
  8. But stephane_dupont observed and measured 3dB less. An A/B split can be used to route the signal to either path A, path B, evenly, or anything in between. A Y split just splits the signal, no parameters to adjust.
  9. Thinking of picking up Helix? Perhaps there's a way around Line 6 not shipping outside the US, if you know someone in the US, have it shipped there, and then have that someone ship it to you. Could be expensive though.
  10. Right, can't split without something there to cause the split. If this is accurate - no reason to really doubt you - it's a nice discovery. Something to certainly be aware of when designing patches because everything downstream from the split can potentially be tonally different because of this, unless compensated for. Would also like to know if this a bug or intentional.
  11. Another thing to take into consideration with pickups is the distance from the strings. Too close, you'll lose sustain and it may start to sound muddy and not well defined. Too far and things can start sounding thin. Find that just right place, the goldilocks zone. But that's been my experience with passive pickups. Don't know if active pickups behave the same way, but I suspect it would be similar.
  12. Ha! You don't know the half of it yet. Especially if she's hyperactive. Good luck, and most of all have fun!
  13. I often put a compressor in a higher gain tone to help clean up some flabbiness in the low end, when other methods seem not to work, and just to generally make things a little more balanced and defined. A compressor in a higher gain lead tone can provide for that little bit of extra sustain, assuming you don't have sort of cheating method like an infinitely sustaining pickup.
  14. I doubt anyone is using eight effects to replicate something that's simple to begin with. That would be kind of stupid. But there's a tendency in some, maybe many, certainly myself, to be always looking for something unique. One good way to achieve that, whether true or not, is to add layers of complexity in the tone. However, that good way can easily be misguided and the end result might only exist in the tone maker's mind.
  15. Thanks. That works. But when embedding a video to start play at a specific time, the forum seems to throw away the specific time and start from the beginning.
  16. What glideman says, and also, when assigning the second effect, make sure to have it merge, rather than replace.
  17. Never happen. Why would Pfizer work against their own purposes? So much of what they do depends on mass numbers of people succumbing to instant gratification.
  18. Looks like somebody finally did something somewhere for the better.
  19. It's amazing how one can easily overlook the obvious. Lol. Done!
  20. Hopefully, Line 6 can implement this in some form or other, because it's not just adding another effect, amp, or cab, it's extending the base capabilities of potentially all parameters. Kind of like instead of having only two stereo paths, let's have four, which allows for so much more.
  21. There's already an entry for this: http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Auto-wah-or-auto-EVERYTHING-for-Helix/727014-23508 There might also be another entry that's very similar. A very important part of it is the ability of pick dynamics. Otherwise it's only time/rate based. Too static. Useful, but adding the ability for it to be triggered by plucking a string opens up quite a bit more usefulness.
  22. Bet you're glad to have a working one back. Curious to know if Sweetwater made you pay for shipping?
  23. Glad you got it working. Things like this can certainly be nerve wracking. Curious what the solution was.
  24. No. Copy the url like you normally would, then highlight the words in your post you want the link to refer to, then hit the link button and paste the url in there.
  25. One way is to highlight the phrase you want containing the link, and then use the link button.
