  1. Hi. I just got my Table Top unit. It's really nice. I had the FX100 for a short while but returned it so I could get the TT. So far I like it even more. I hope to post a detailed review later, but I need to first figure out what wrong with my saving preset process. I followed the instructions but I just can get it to save. I'm trying to save "No Amp" in Bank 1, preset A. I have the settings all dialed in, I hold down the Tone button for a few seconds, it eventually will start blinking. At this point I'm supposed to press the Tone button repeatedly until I move the light to the place I want it, A, B, C or D. Then press and hold the Tone button for 2 seconds. Well in my case, while the light is blinking, the moment I press the Tone button to pick a new preset to save to, the tone changes, as if it was not blinking in the first place. Regardless of where the light is, A, B, C or D, I cannot save my presets to any of them. Does anyone see what I'm screwing up here??? Please help! Thx!
  2. Hi. Is the modeling in the Flextone HD different/better than the modeling in the Flextone III? I have a Flextone III and its pretty good. I'm wondering if the modeling was improved in the Flextone HD version. Anyone know? Thanks!!
  3. Hi. The 4CM seems like a very good option for the way I want to use it with my Mesa Boogie. My son on the other hand would use this as a recording tool. I'm not so sure he'll want to share it once I get it... In the case of a 4CM hook up, I've read that you can use the POD HD Desktop pre-amp models. How does this work? Can someone explain how the app modeling is different? Is it just the same amps configured for a pre-amp tone as opposed to the modeled pre and power tone? So confused as to the best way to connect this into the app for the best results. Thx!
  4. Hi. Question for you POD HD folks. I have one of those Redwitch Medusa chorus pedals and I really like it a lot. I plug that into my effects loop. Can I plug the POD HD Desktop into my effects loop and then out of the POD and into the Medusa and then into the loop? Does that make sense? Amp -》loop POD -》Medusa -》loop amp. Basically can you put the POD in the loop along with your other pedals. Thank you?
  5. Hello, Can someone guide me towards a better home recording setup? Here is what I need to do: 1. Record a guitar and a vocal XLR mic at the same time 2. Have access to amp models and effects 3. Be able to output to headphones or to studio monitors or a PA monitor 4. Be used with a laptop computer 5. It would be nice to be able to record a dry signal for purposes of re-ampping later (not a must) It seems to me that both the UX2 and the HD Desktop will do these things (maybe not #5, not sure) So my question for you guys is, which of these is a better tool to do the job? Then I'd like to know what I don't know about in terms of home recording that might make one of these units stand out. The UX2 seems to have some features I don't think I'll use, but I might just not know better. Thanks!
  6. Hello, you're wife is awesome!!! There is no PC interface for the Amplifi series. As for videos, many are posted in this forum and you can just poke around YouTube and find many. If I were you and wanted to create the perfect metal tone, I'd build one from scratch. This will help you learn the system the fastest. Good luck!
  7. Ok. This is great. But here's an even dumber question. Does the HD Desktop have an AUX input for an MP3? I honestly don't see one shown in the manual. I am trying to figure out if I want a HD Desktop or get an Amplifi TT along with the Studio UX2. It seems that the HD Desktop can do it all but if it does not have an AUX input, that'll be a downer. Thanks!
  8. Hi. Can someone tell me if the POD HD Desktop is capable of simultaneously recording a guitar AND XLR vocal microphone and record them to individual tracks on the recording software? Thank you!
  9. Hello all, I'm on the fence with the right unit for the job. But this question might simplify things. First, is the POD HD Desktop capable of simultaneously recording a guitar AND XLR vocal microphone and record them to individual tracks on the recording software? The Studio UX2 can do this and its an important feature. Assumimg the HD Desktop can do this, read on. I need a device that with give me all modeling and multi effects that I can plug into the effects loop. The HD Desktop and the Amplifi TT can both do this for me plus they will both work with my Shortboard MkII. Nice. I also need the ability to record onto a computer the guitar part as well as a vocal track through XLR. It would be especially nice if I could do this simultaneously. The Studio UX2 will do the job well here. So you can see, the combination of the Amplifi TT and the Studio UX2 will do the job and probably do it really well, but the question for you guys is will the POD HD Desktop do all this in one unit? If so, you could probably make a good argument that this is a better solution because it has the HD sound library and the overall cost is lower (by about $50.00 for new gear. A few Desktops are still available as new). Thoughts? Happy New Year!!!
  10. Hi. Can anyone please tell me what software is included in the Studio UX2 box and what each piece of software is used to do. I'd just ask for a one-liner brief statement. Also, the computer I will need to use with the UX2 does not have a CD ROM drive. Does Line 6 provide the software in a downloadable format? Thank you again!
  11. Hello everyone. Happy Holidays! Can someone tell me if the Studio UX2 is capable of recording the guitar input AND the XLR microphone at the same time and record them to their own tracks within the software? This would be really cool. Thx.
  12. Hi. I see the FX100 has four footswitches across the front (A, B, C and D), but how are you able to turn on/off the diffeent effects while playing a song (in particular a live setting)? Say for instance, you're playing the verse which DOES NOT use chorus modulation, but during the chorus, you want to click on the modulation. How do you do this with the FX100? As a side note, I can see how you would do this with an Amplifi TT/75/150 WITH a Shortboard MkII, but I don't see how this works with an FX100. Thoughts?
  13. Hello all, Can someone please clarify how the FBV Shortboard MkII can be used to select all the different banks available? If the Function 2 button does not work, how do you select and scroll through the different banks using the board? I'm mostly interested in this feature for live performance. Also, does anyone know if this functionality is the same when the Shortboard is used with the Amplifi Table Top version? I assume it would behave the same way. But does anyone know for sure. Thanks,
  14. Hey thanks for that. Right now I'm not using that pedal too much. But when that changes, I'll look for these cables (or when the existing cable brakes!!) Thank you for the reference. Adam
  15. Hi. Just to clarify something. I have a Line 6 Shortboard. I was thinking about going with the FX100 because I wanted the footswitching and pedal control. BUT, it seems like you can use the TT in conjunction with the Shortboard and achieve the same results. IS THIS CORRECT? Are there any disadvantages to the TT + Shortboard combination over the FX100? The only one I know of is that the Shortboard uses that goofy CAT5 cable which I absolutely hate. Well, hate is a strong word. But I really, really, really don't like that cable setup. Anyway, please clarify the differences within each setup please. Thanks!!
  16. Hello all, I would love some clarification before take the plug on the FX100. Here's my simple setup and problem. How can the FX100 be connected to meet my challenge? I have a Mesa Boogie 5:50 Express (2x12). She sounds great all by herself. But I'd really like to add the FX100. One of the problems with this amp (and pretty much all tube amps) is that the amp does not have an AUX INPUT. So I can't play along with my MP3 songs (into the amp). I was thinking that the FX100 will give me that ability wirelessly through the Bluetooth connect. Anyway, what is the best way to connect the guitar and pedal to achieve the best sound from the MP3 source and also take full advantage of the pedals amp modeling and effects? Should the guitar be plugged into the front of the amp (normal hookup) and the pedal into the amps effects loop? Does this nullify the amp modeling ability of the pedal? I think it does. Please clarify. Should everything be connected into the effects loop (guitar into pedal, pedal into loop). Will this sound good? Will the bluetooth MP3 work this way? Will the pedal modeling work? Kinda confused on the best way to do this and still utilize all the features that sound great. Thanks in advance for everyone's help.
