  1. Hi. The DT25 has worked out pretty well over the last year. So the band decided to try the HD500X and dump the pedal board. We have been finding the 500x seems to act erratic on stage from gig to gig. One time the thing started hissing really noisy noise (shut it off and back on solved that problem). Another time the volume from one patch to another suddenly went to max volume and blew everyone's ears out. The time before that had a totally different problem. We actually has a used HD500 in the past and had similar problems and sold it thinking it was a bad apple. So we got a new 500x thinking it would help. So far not so much. We didn't even take it out this past weekend. A home I don't use it at high volume and that seems to help it behave for some reason. Also I have had problems in rehearsal with it to but nothing as bad at the shows. It's to the point that we just joke about what "Christine" is going to do tonight. I am using a standard XLR cable from the HD500X to the DT25. The patches are super simple, nothing complex about them. Has anyone experienced weird behavior from your 500x on stage? Any suggestions on how to set up patches better to blend volume from patch to patch? Any thoughts on how to best manage this beast? Thx!!
  2. Perfect. That's what I was hoping for!
  3. Hi. Can anyone explain how the music bluetooth streaming works with the FH1500? What I mean is this: do you need to have the FH1500 app open on your phone and access the music from the Line 6 app and stream it from there OR can you stream to it from any music app on your phone (like any other BT speaker might work).? Thanks!!
  4. Spikey (or anyone with direct knowledge/experience here), Are you running a vocal processor into the FH1500 and playing the guitar as well? If so, how are you hooking things up? How does it all sound? I'm still on the fence with the FH1500 vs Amplifi Table Top + L2t sound source. My four main objectives in order are these: 1. Great modeled tone from the Amplifi device. All the amp modeling needs to sound really good (FRFR...) 2. Great sounding acoustic guitar tones plus the ability to add effects like delay, chorus, reverb... 3. At home mp3 party speaker I can Bluetooth stream to it and it sound like a decent stereo sound. 4. Sing through it. Being there is no mic in and eq for this on the FH1500 it will require a PA input. Whereas the L2t is ready to go. I just get the feeling thst the FH1500 will do a better job at the first 3 things on my list over the L2t but that's where I hope you guys could clear up for me. There is an added bonus going with the FH1500 in that I can sell my Table Top and use those funds to put towards the FH1500 and end up with a slight upgrade. Both are expensive options so I need to get it right!
  5. Hi Jim, Yeah I agree that FRFR are probably going to be the best. I makes sense that Line 6 started going this way with the Amplifi amps. Now they went with the Firehawk. There just are not too many FRFR stereo speaker rigs out there. Mission Engineering makes a 2x12 but they want $1600. They are smoking crack! Outside of that yes the SoundSource line is good but way over priced IMO. Thanks!
  6. This is true. The Amplifi system is fundamentally reliant on other peoples equipment working right. I would say anyone who is having problems with an Amplifi device that the problem is most likely on their end with the device connecting to the Amplifi. That being said, its the prime contractor that gets blamed for the problem. I use Android. And I think all the Android advantages it has over the iPhone are also the same characteristics that cause more problems with it (free market vs Socializem). So before you bash Line 6 for their gear, please first consider how the system was designed, what influences it and fix what you have control over. If you use Android, you'll have more options in doing that. If you use Apple products, its more probably you won't ever have problems but if you do, you're likely hosed. Good luck!!
  7. I'm curious how you guys listen to your Amplifi device in particular the FX100 and the Table Top. I personally use mine in two ways (1) with headphone and (2) through my Mesa Boogie Express plugged into the effects loop. I also find that most of the amp models are just not all that usable through the amp, or any amp for that matter that I've tried. I think there is some loss in the Line 6 modeling when it is influenced through amp circuitry. Headphones on the other hand make the Line 6 Table Top/FX100/Bean....sound awesome. I think this is also largely true with the HD500 with the exception of when its played into a DT25. Anyway, when you look at the Amplifi amps, those all use stereo full range speakers and so are headphones. It seems to me that the Table Top/FX100 would probably sound pretty awesome when played into a stereo full range powered speaker like a DJ type rig. What do you guys think? What do you use? Thanks!!
  8. Ok guys. Great information and I really appreciate your feedback. And for Silverhead, yes you are correct I did not state that in this thread. I'm sorry about that. I actually have a few threads out there on the Line 6 forum trying to nail down the best way to go. I think I have it now based on what I'm really looking for (electric guitar modeling, acoustic guitar, vocals, MP3...all sound convincingly good). To do this I should got with the SoundSource L2t and connect my Table Top using the RCA input. If I really wanted to make it even better, I'd sell my TT and get a Firehawk FX pedal device. This makes sense if I want to continue using the app. I suppose I could go with an HD500 as well, but I think the Firehawk might be better for me. This has been a very helpful thread. Thanks!
  9. Yes I will agree with you all that the best solution for the singer song writer guy would be the L2t option over the FH1500. However, I also want one solution for all situations and accept the sacrifice in losing some of the potential tonal ability that the L2t might have over the FH1500 in the signer song writer world. Buying a FH1500 and a L2t is cost prohibitive and has too much functional overlap. That being said, the FH1500 with a small PA might not be a bad albeit very expensive way to go. I think for me, the question will come down to this, just how good of a job would the L2t do at playing the Pod farm amp models from the Line 6 Table Top Amplifi device? If you guys think it will do a convincing job at this, then I'd say that is my overall best option in this case. I's actually rather connect the Table Top to the L2t than O would connect a small PA to the FH1500. It just seems easier and cleaner to me. Plus it's one less piece of gear to research!! Again, thank you for the help!
  10. Yes I agree, but if I were designing this, I'd add that functionality to the App and save them to presets OR enable the Amp's EQ knobs to have a dual functionality just as the volume knob has when you press it in. I think you meant to say 1/4" aux input on the L2t. And yes, the L2t would clearly be a good option, but its priced a little high for that field. But back to the Firehawk....so if you were to use the Firehawk as your coffee shop acoustic guitar/vocal rig, you would get what device to make that all happen well? A small PA? The only small PA's I have seen tend to be noisy little devils and they get quite and clean when they get bigger. Thoughts? Thank you again!! Adam
  11. Thanks! Yes it still seems really strange that you would go through all the work to make the Firehawk 1500 have all the nice sounding acoustic guitar ability, but then not complete the package by facilitating the vocals to accompany the nice tones. I have looked at the L2t and that's an option, but in this case I'd still need to connect my Amplifi Table Top and now things are becoming more complicated. The Firehawk 1500 was a simplistic way to do all this and I could justify the price tag. Now If I have to add another device such as a mixer....there goes the simplicity. Then when you look at the cost of the L2t and compare it to other similar devices like the Mackie, well things get tougher. LOTS of great options out there. This Firehawk 1500 seems like the guy who intercepted the ball, ran it all the way down to the 1 yard line and fumbled it out of the endzone. Still a good play, but..... I'll keep looking. Thank you for the reply.
  12. Hello, Can someone please confirm this. Can you plug a vocal microhone (e.g. SM58) directly into the Firehawk using one of the Monitor Inputs? Is this one of the intended used of this port? And assuming you can, how do vocals sound through this amp? Can the vocal signal be adjusted through the App (basic EQ, reverb, delay...). It seems to me that this amp should be able to do all this and would represent a complete meltdown by Line 6 if it can't do all this, but I don't see anything specific talking about this feature. Assuming it cannot do this for the moment, the way to get there would be by running the vocal signal into a mixer that had the effects built into it and then run the mixer into the Monitor Input. Is that correct? Thanks!!!
  13. Hi. Thanks for the help on my previous thread, but that has lead to this one!! I am considering either the Line 6 L2t or the Firehawk 1500. If I go with the L2t, I would use it with my Line 6 Table Top Amplifi device. In the case of the Firehawk, it would standalone. So here's my mission: Hear realistic models with their best possible character Be able to replace my aoustic amp (Genz Benz, admittedly, this will be very difficult) Be able to sing through it and it has to sound really good Be able to play MP3 music through it as a "party" speaker for use inside and out. (I currently use a Marshall Stanmore BT speaker). So, I see each having its pros and cons. I'd say the Firehawk has a few advantages in that its somewhat more updated than my Table Top and it's all in one box whereas the L2t is somewhat ligher and more portable and can be put up on a tower mount which is probably a little better for the coffee shop gig. Does anyone have any thoughts here? Am I missing any particular import feature that one has over the other? They are both about the same cost. Bit of a toss up at the moment. Thanks!!
  14. Hi. Thanks. I read more into the manual and agree with you that the L2t is the way to go. Not only is it better suited for vocals, but it also has the acoustic guitar modeling. Yes is does not have a bluetooth connection, but it does have the RCA inputs. Having said that, if I also happen to have my Line 6 Table Top connected to it, I can indirectly have a BT connection. Still your suggestion for getting a BT reliever is a good one. Thanks!! Adam
  15. Hi all, I curently have a Line 6 Table Top and often run it in the Effects loop of my Mesa Express 2x12. As you know, running a modeler into another pre-amp section of an amplifier often produces results that are less than stellar. As you also know, when using the Line 6 models through headphones, things sound really good. Now some of the amp models sound pretty good through the Mesa amp, but most don't. Enter the StageSource L2t and L2m. Here's what I'd like to be able to do: Hear realistic models with their best possible character Be able to replace my aoustic amp (Genz Benz, admittedly, this will be very difficult) Be able to sing through it and it has to sound really good Be able to use it as a somewhat portable Bluetooth "party" speaker for use inside and out. (I currently use a Marshall Stanmore BT speaker). Btw, I do run my Line 6 TT into this speaker, but only really sounds good for clean tones. I believe the StageSouce is a good option to do all these things. Which model would you suggest, the L2t or the L2m? Thank you for the help with this. Adam
  16. I understand that. That's not what I was asking. I'm not trying to get around latency. Has anyone been able to find a combination of devices or single device that enables BT connectivity that mitigates the latency problem? At the very least, to a usable level. I think in my case, I was probably at one end the the "poor" spectrum and there might be better ways of doing it.
  17. Hi all, I saw that a question was posted a while back about wireless headphones but I could not click on the thread. So I apologize for the duplication. Has anyone had any success using wireless headphones with the Table Top/FX100? A while back I tried a pair of bluetooth transceivers. One was connected to the Line 6 TT, the other was connected to my non-bluetooth headphones. Well its worked!!! But the problem was the latency may as well been a day long! Actually, it was so poor at nearly .3 seconds. This was just fine for REALLY slow ballads. So I returned them both. But it would sure be nice to use headphones and not be teathered. Anyone succesfully doing this? What's your winning trick? Thx!
  18. Hi all, I'll jump in here. I use an android tablet (Samsung and Nexus 7). Both seemed to work just fine in tuner mode UNTIL I updated the Firmware to the latest version. I too see the signal jumping around like its a bad cable connection. So...thinking I had a bad cable, I swapped one out with no change. Line 6 needs to get right on this!
  19. Hi. Is there a way to see what version of firmware I have installed on my TT without actually connecting it to a computer? Can this be veified through the app? If so, where? Thx!
  20. Hello, Does anyone know if it is possible to split the output signal of the Amplifi to enable the guitar tones to be sent to a guitar amp and the MP3 music output to be sent to an appropriate speaker? Thanks!!
  21. Angular_Mo, For what it's worth, the Amplifi TT with a MK2 Shortboard is probably one of the best low cost rigs you can get. I use this at home now. I go between using the TT+Shortboard and a traditional pedal board all the time. The reason I don't use the TT full time is because connecting to the app is sometimes a pain. I also find that most of the time all I need is preprogramed and I don't even bother with the app. Another thing to ponder is this...my son plays in a band and when he needs to travel really light, he takes my TT+Shortboard. He uses this for rehearsal. You can plug it into a regular amp that has an effects loop or simply play it into a stereo system or just headphone. In his case he'll plug it into the PA. The Table Top by itself is a bit limiting and your son is seeing that and frustrated by it. For another $200.00 or so, the Shortboard opens up a huge world of possibilities and the system will actually work a lot like the POD HD500. The HD500 and the TT+Shortboard are very similar in what you can do and the control you have over selecting tones and effects with your feet. The HD500 is a much more capable unit, but some people find the older "style" tone library (non-HD) to be more pleasing and less digitally-sounding. That's true to my ear. I've owned both. Also, the footprint of the Shortboard is smaller than any of the POD series floor pedals. The TT+Shortboard is a really good way to go. There are pros and cons to it, but if you consider the TT vs the FX100, hands down the TT+Shortboard is a superior option. Good luck.
  22. WOW!! That's really messed up. I don't think longer screws are going to help you. If the old screws actually stripped out (look at the threads and check their condition) you will have to go to the next size up in screw diamerter. You should probably open up a ticket on this one with Line 6 and see how they direct you. Actually, are the old screws machine screws or wood screws? Do you know how to tell them apart? Machine screws will be squared off at the end oposite the head of the screw. Wood screws will have a pointy end (so they can dig into the wood. If these are machine screws, you're going to need to access the insdie of the amp to reinstal a nut. If they are wood screws, you should be able to go to the next size up and the old hole will become your new pilot hole. But chack with the Line 6 guys with a ticket. They should know they had a failed handle anyway. How's the foot?
  23. This is great information. Thank you. What I'm not clear on is this: When using the DT25 with the HD500, what Voice setting should the DT25 be set to or does it really matter at all? My confusion is simply this...if I'm set to a clean tone like Voice I, and then step on Program switch, let's say "D" on the HD500, which uses a Treadplate high gain setting, will it change the Voice on the amp or will it stay in Voice I and just use the HD500 amp model? What will the amp look like at this point? On a similar note, I have a Mesa Flux Five Overdrive pedal which I LOVE!! I image the best way to use that pedal with the DT25 would be in front of the amp and have the amp set to Voice I (clean). This amp will be used for my son's band (they are all HS freshmen now). It needs to be a simple setup for them on stage, so as I add complexity to their stage setup, I need to undertsand the system perfectly so I can be able to "fix" stuff on the fly seemlessly. Here are my current priorities I'd liek to get sorted out. 1. Change the amp modeles of the DT25 voices per your instructions above. I need to get the MIDI-to-USB cable first. 2. Do a factory reset of the HD500. This unit was also used and there seems to be some goofy settings on it that don't seem to follow the manual all that well. I figure I should start with a clean slate. 3. Figure out how to program the HD500 (using your suggetion for using the pre amp models and standard)
  24. Awesome guys, I'm making progress. The reset did almost everything I was hoping for. This amp head was used when I got. Now the two channels are acting as mirrors of each other including tone, eq, modeling and volume. So I'm in good shape. Having said that, the volume "bump" when using the Voice II (Brit P-75 Bright) is freak'en loud. But, now I'm onto the next challenge...I will hook up the used HD500 to it an add a new variable to the mix. Learning how to set the volume levels is going to be key for this rig to work right. Ultimately all I'm really going to need for this particular rig is a clean tone, the treadplate tone and the treadplate with a volume boost (for soloing). But it sounds like I do not have a problem with this amp head (after the reset) and that's wonderful news!!! Thank you!!!
