That's incredible. We have wireless everything else, mics, guitars, etc, etc, so why not cans?? C'mon Line 6, if this isn't a commercial opportunity, I don't know what is. -
-
Yep, that would indeed drive me mad, especially if I'd paid £150 for the privilege. I've also been looking for some decent quality wireless cans, not much luck so far though. I can however advise you all to avoid the Philips SHC5100/5 like the plague, the noise from them is incredible, it's like listening on the beach at high tide. I hope someone eventually comes up with something usable, doesn't seem too much to ask for really does it. -

Absolutely fascinating and incredibly helpful info, thank you guys so much. -
-
Oh well, thanks anyway. Shame, sounds like an interesting video. -
-
I did search by member but got no result, maybe it's because I copied and pasted his name, IDK. -
-
Does anyone have a link to this video please? I searched but couldn't even find the user. Thanks -

Thanks so much for all of your hard work on this, it really is a great starting point, should be pinned. -

I'm fairly sure this is just a screen resolution issue. If you Right click on an empty area of your desktop, then select 'Personalize' from the menu, then click 'Display' then 'Change Display Settings' then chose a higher resolution from the Resolution list. 1680x1050 works well as Lungho said, that should do, if your TV supports it. -

I loved my HD500X, but it's back in it's box now. The tones you can get from the Helix are well worth the change, you won't be disappointed. :) Very useful links, particularly the amps reference page, thanks. -
-
Win 7 here also. Frequent crashes when making changes on the helix (rack) itself while the editor is open as well. Active/inactive blocks incorrectly displayed in the editor after switching snapshots using Helix controller. I'm hoping for major changes in the editor software, so much about the looks and functionality that I dislike. HD500X editor was way better IMO, this looks and feels like something written for a tablet then ported. Fingers firmly crossed. -
-
Sorry, yes I did mean while using the editor, I couldn't use that tiny B&W screen. I wish the Helix worked that way as well, editor and machine, can't really see a downside to it. -
-
I've done this so many times. I like the way the HD500X worked, any changes made were not lost until you turned the machine off, you could go to another patch then back to the one you'd edited without losing any changes. -
-
Absolutely. This update process is horrible and needs addressing ASAP. -
-
Indeed :) On a side note, I've been wondering for a while now, is your avatar pic from the film "Waking Ned Devine" by any chance? -
-
I see, so it is a long standing issue which line 6 haven't been bothered to fix then. I'll have a word with them tomorrow. Thanks again. -
-
Now that's a helpful answer, thank you. I had no idea the problem had already been raised. When was this? Do you have a link to the thread perhaps? -
-
Really? OK, pleas explain to me how the above quotes would in any way be of help, baring in mind my original post. -
-
"The wonky CT layout has been the same for a while now. I wouldn't sweat the small stuff." "I've never dug deep enough to find a way to change it, nor have I really cared, nor has it really ground my gears." What on earth made me assume that you weren't really interested? -
-
Thanks -

It does mean something, it indicates what sort of pickup the poster recomends for that particular patch. You may personally not be at all bothered about this, and have no need for it, but a lot of other peiople may find such information very helpful. So as far as help goes, the "it doesn't bother me, so foreget about it" type response is less than useless, which is where the real frustration kicked in. Why not simply say "Yeah, that needs fixing alright" and have done? -
-
I know, I'm being completely unreasonable with my sky-high expectations. -
-
Fine, then get rid of the thing instead of having people messing around with it and wasting their time trying figure out how it's supposed to work. -
-
Well if you're not interested in the topic and have nothying to offer which may help, why would you bother replying to my post? "Never dug deep enough"? There should be no need to dig, click and change, that's it. -
-
Here's a link to the section: http://line6.com/customtone/browse/helix/ To the right you will see a small pickup icon which is supposed to indicate which kind of pickup should be used for each individual patch. It seems that this icon always defaults to humbucker and there is now way of changing it. They should either get rid of the thing altogether, or fix it. -
-
So you're saying it's a long standing issue which line 6 haven't been bothered to fix. That's a very disappointing attitude indeed and one which doesn't inspire confidence. Small stuff? No such thing, you do it right or you don't. -
