  1. No it's not possible. But whatever you do, don't complain about it here, or you'll be flamed by fanboys insisting that you don't need such a thing, and are probably a bit thick for even suggesting it. I however agree with you, the copy/paste functionality is sadly very limited. It shouldn't stop you falling in love with the Helix though, it really is a thing of beauty. :) -
  2. Yeah, you're right. This Line 6 forum's maintenance has always been on the sloppy side, great gear though. :) -
  3. Yes we're missing it, because we weren't told about it BEFORE the update, were we? -
  4. This also occurred to me, but stupidly, I assumed that since Line 6 didn't mention it in their update instructions, they'd take all of this in to account and the new presets/changes would be there anyway. I mean, what the hell is the point of providing us with new patches/tweaks and then giving us all instructions which overwrite them?? How much does "If you would like the new prestets/changes DO NOT RESTORE FACTORY PRESETS. Here's how....." cost? So now, if I want these new presets I have to fart around updating and restoring all over again? Oh well, at least it's a nice simple user friendly process, ay. Excellent coms there guys, thanks a bundle. -
  5. Absolutely right. The way it responds to your playing is unlike anything I've ever experienced before, honestly, it's brought me to tears(of ecstasy) on a few occasions. -
  6. I was also unsure whether to move from the HD500X to Helix, but having done so in March this year I totally agree with cclement and am very pleased I upgraded. Although I'm going to contact Line 6 regarding my unit lacking the "Fresh pine scent" mentioned above. :( :) -
  7. Fantastic! I really feel we're getting somewhere now. :) Do you have many hands yourself Peter? Anyone we'd know? -
  8. Well, hollis did delegate to you so I suppose that'll have to do. So, a good sharp axe and an opportune moment then, righty-ho. Do you not think he'll miss them at all? ;) -
  9. Wow, that's terrible, I had no idea. Thanks. Even worse though, I've got no mother, basement or bitters. :( Thank God for hollis ay. :) -
  10. I would very much like to replicate the tone used in the song "Message in a Bottle" by the 1970s/80s British pop group The Police, but I never seem to be able to get it just right, there always seems to be something missing, or something there which shouldn't be. Can you help? -
  11. Very nice indeed. First tune I've heard on here for a while that didn't make my ears bleed. :) Thanks. -
  12. I always worry about that sort of thing doing more damage than good, breaking the socket, pulling the unit off/over or slamming it into a wall etc. I never use the securing screws on PC sockets either, for the same reason, but I'm possibly a bit more clumsy than you. :) -
  13. The guy in orange didn't seem completely convinced did he. Good vid though, thanks. -
  14. I actually prefer yours Miles, please keep it updated. Thanks. -
  15. You could try using an EQ block, it might get you closer to the tone you're after. This page has EQ settings for that: http://www.guitarplayer.com/guitar-player-101/1025/tech-tip-the-no-solder-humbucker-to-single-coil-transformation/56922 Or you could sell the GT100 and put the cash toward a Telecaster. EVERYONE should own a telecaster, seriously. :) If you do try the EQ method, could you let us know how you get on with it? Thanks. -
  16. Personally, my eyes aren't so good and I find a paper copy with nice large print more comfortable to read and if necessary, scribble notes on. No batteries required either. :) -
  17. Ah well, we got there in the end. :) -
  18. My apologies, I got my cheat-sheet threads mixed up, I was actually refering to the one posted by mikeskb, which you just linked to. Sorry for any confusion. -
  19. Thanks for that, clean and simple, very helpful quick reference guide. -
  20. It's there, right at the bottom, last one before the bass amps: "Line 6 Badonk - Line 6 Original inspired by the original high gain Big Bottom model" -
  21. Have to agree with the general consensus here, I also came from the HD500X and don't think that backtracking is the way to go. Start from scratch, take some time to experiment and play around with the thing and you'll soon see how different they really are and how much more you can get from the helix. Tears of joy will soon follow. :) -
  22. I wouldn't worry about it mate. For some unfathomable reason, some people take personal offence when an item they own, or the company that makes that item, is criticised. They seem to have the idea that the forum is there for glowing praise alone, anything else is apparently blatant trolling. Just have a look around this forum and you'll see the same thing again and again, with all the usual suspects leading the attack. Hilariously sad really. Don't shoot guys, I love my Helix! :) -
  23. I agree with this, try adjusting the bias, it can make a hige difference fizz-wise. -
