  1. Absolutely. I bought the rack thinking I wouldn't need the controller, couldn't have been more wrong. It's an essential and you'll love it, well worth the extra cost IMO. Very pretty lights as well. :) -
  2. Is this limit permanent or is there a possibility of it being increased at some point? It seems a small amount of data to store and I'd love a global setting to make all parameters of loaded blocks snapshot sensitive by default. -
  3. Sounds like a most bodacious plan dude! -
  4. I'd rather just assume that they're asking for help because they need it. -
  5. Thanks for the info architector. I've been a bit put off by some of the reviews of the newer RS120s, a lot of people who had the same ones as you and then bought these new ones, seem to be experiencing some tuning-in and hissing issues, so I think I'll give them a miss, unless I get a chance to actually try them out in a shop. I spent a few hours yesterday playing with a 17ms delay to try and determine whether I could get used to the Siberia 800s enough to still enjoy playing, I could put up with it if necessary, but it did detract from my enjoyment, so it looks like I'll just have to put up with the wires for now. Unbelievable really. :( -
  6. LOL, no pain intended. :) Thing is, you never know a person's personal circumstances and hence, why they're asking. They may be dyslectic, or have limited vision (like me) and struggle with manuals, particularly PDF. -
  7. No, nothing to do with 'cheating' . -
  8. Does asking on an appropriate forum count as research? :p -
  9. Ught! I hate those things, just the sight of it brings me out in a rash. But yeah, definately a better solution, although the Helix pitch shift is pretty good with lead, it's a passable solustion when the track you're trying to learn is half a tone out, big improvement on the HD500x imo. -
  10. Left click on the camera icon to the left of the snapshot name, then select rename, done. :) -
  11. I'd like a global option so we can chose between 'press to resets parameter value' and 'press to assign parameter to snapshot' with the six turn/push knobs. I find the process of, making a mental note of the parameter setting, grabbing hold of my rack with one hand, (it's not bolted down) pushing the knob and turning it with the other hand, then readjusting the value back to what it was before I had to turn it, somewhat fiddly for such a simple task, which I may have to perform tens of times within a patch. I feel that the one button push would be of far more use assigning parameters to snapshots than it's current one. -
  12. Ah I see. Well, yeah, that would be a great option, wonder if it's been suggested before. -
  13. Yes that's another way of doing it, but as you say, it's still a bit fiddly. I just think that the one button push would be of more use doing this job than it's current one, which seems fairly pointless to me, I mean, you set these parameters to how you personally like them, not to some arbitrary default, right? or am I missing something. -
  14. If you press one of the parameter adjustment knobs, (rack) it resets that parameter's value. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think I've ever used this function and TBH, I can't really see it's value. However, I spend a lot of time setting snapshot parameter values and I find the process of, making a mental note of the parameter setting, grabbing hold of my rack with one hand, (it's not bolted down) pushing the knob and turning it with the other hand, then readjusting the value back to what it was before I had to turn it, somewhat fiddly. Wouldn't it be better to give that one simple push to snapshot parameter assignment instead of it's current function? What d'you guys think? -
  15. Thanks for the suggestion, something else to consider. They seem to have been replaced by the RS120 II, I think they're basically the same but upgraded. My problem with the RF headphones I tried was hiss, but it sounds like you don't have a problem with that, right? -
  16. That's a great idea, if we keep at it, we'll end up with negative latency, we'll be able to hear the notes before we play them. I'll probably get a pair of the Siberia 800s, so yeah, I'll keep you posted. -
  17. After some hunting around I found the Steelseries Siberia 800 'Gaming Headphones'. They apparently boast 16-17ms latency and are around half the price of the RS185. I've seen a few posts on various forums from guitarists saying they're OK for playing, latency wise, so I may give them a go. Anyone else tried them? -
  18. Completely agree with this and I'm sick of headphone wires catching on bits of my guitar while I wander about a bit. I also wrote to Sennheiser, after 10 days and a reminder I got this reply: I think, taking the price into account, (£300) it's not going to work for me, I've tried 21ms on a simple delay block placed in front of a fairly uncomplicated chain and it felt a tad uncomfortable and slightly distracting. I must admit it was on the cusp, but overall, for the money, it's just not good enough for me personally. Gutted. :( -
  19. WOW! Very impressive indeed. I hope it's the same in the UK and that I never need it. :) -
  20. I've been having trouble with a patch which started out as template 006 - TwoTones A-B. After some changes and reassignments I found that I couldn't switch snapshots and trying eventually mede everything crash, Helix (rack & controller) and PC editor. This seemed to be cured by saving then reloading the patch, but now I find that I can not clear the assignment of a split point, even by selecting 'Clear All Assignments" Any ideas on how to cure this without starting from scratch again would be very much appreciated. I've attached the patch with a .TXT extension. Thanks EDIT: It was actually a controller assign which I've now cleared and all seems OK now. We live and learn. :) - A-B WIDE-x.txt
  21. That's great to know, had no problems with mine, apart from a few buttons which are a bit squishy and don't 'click' when pressed. But could you be a little more specific about your experience? What exactly did they do to impress you so much? Was the unit collected by coutier? How long did the repair take? Did they offer you a temporary replacement? ETC ETC. Thanks. -
  22. I've never used a guitar tuner, you don't listen to your guitar via an external machine, so why would you use one to tune it? The tuner can't respond to the individual idiosyncrasies of your guitar, it just looks for the fundamental frequency of each note, treating every guitar as thought it were the same, tuning-wise, which is balmy. OK, they're a good guide if you're in a situation where you are unable to hear properly, but if you can, you should always tune using your own ears. Learn a little bit about equal temperament, then tune by listening to the beat rates of intervals, it's far more accurate and will be tailored to the individual guitar. As for stability, always tune from flat, bringing the string up a little at a time, taking it slightly sharp, then bend to drop it into place, taking up any slack. All of this takes a little learning and practice, but is well worth it for accuracy and stability.
  23. Yes I'm sure your right, they probably wouldn't be any better than the Philips cans I tried. If I can find a way of trying before I buy, I'll give them a go. Thanks -
  24. Just had a look at some quite reasonably priced IEM systems, there seem to be a few within my price range. Thanks for the idea. Being that it's only going to get home use, maybe something like this would do the job for me: https://www.thomann.de/gb/the_tbone_iem_75.htm Anyone have experience of this system? EDIT: Hmmm, not sure about that now, it's FM so may not like the Helix. -
