  1. Yeah I can move it around no problem. I usually just use the grip at the top to lift it and then shift my hands to hold it from underneath. I really don't have to do that, I'm just paranoid I'm going to pull a muscle in my finger or hand but it's really not that heavy. (I have the 150).
  2. Hopefully they'll add the feature to the 75 & 150. I'm still trying to understand why the foot controller is an additional $200.
  3. I was reading in another thread that you can't assign the bender (whammy wah) function to the expression pedal on the FX100, is that the case with the FBV Shortboard as well?
  4. Wow that's crazy, I just assumed with the FX100 you could assign the expression pedal to the bender (whammy) effect. In fact I assumed you could do that if you got the FBV Shortboard, I'm really surprised you can't do that. But you can assign it to the FX knob though? (I haven't tried yet the thought to do that hadn't crossed my mind). If that's the case I don't see why they wouldn't allow it to be assigned to the pedal (like it should be in the first place)? I mean if you can't assign it to the pedal how exactly are you supposed to use it?
  5. It's a $200 upgrade called the Amplifi TT. ;)
  6. I currently just have a guitar and the Amplifi 150. I want to get a looper but since all the effects are built into the 150 it limits what you can do with it. I'm wondering if most of you have pedals you run before the looper or a multi-effects board? I figure to layer loops you would need a looper, effects before it and then once you have everything recorded to then run the playback to the aux-in on the back of the Amplifi and then you could use the Amplifi 150 to jam along with that by plugging your guitar into the front of the 150 and then there wouldn't be conflict between the looper playback and your guitar solos. The new Amplifi TT seems like it could be a good option to run before the looper? I was also thinking of getting an FX100 or HD500X. Not sure though, part of me thinks I should just start investing in pedals instead. So what are your setups? Thanks.
  7. Thanks for the positive review. I've been considering getting the FBV shortboard but the cost relative to the price of the amp has been holding me back a bit.
  8. I like your sense of humor, I can certainly relate at times. lol
  9. Have you tried calling them? I don't have the shortboard because I'm not sure if I want to spend $200 on it. I wish they would offer it at a nice discount for current Amplifi owners. I think it's an amazing practice amp for the money but if I were playing live I'd want better equipment but that costs $$$$$. I can't say it enough though, for the money with all the features it has it's well worth it. I don't think the problems you're having with the shortboard should be normal though, I'd call them. Let me know how it goes, I hope you get it resolved.
  10. ^^^ Interesting stuff, thanks Colonel, I'll keep all that in mind.
  11. Ah yes definitely, I didn't consider that, makes complete sense, thanks!
  12. Awesome news! That's great!
  13. Wow, glad to hear, even better news!
  14. I guess I misunderstood then, I thought the modeling was as if you were standing in the room right in front of the amp without a mic. I thought it was as if you were playing through a Fender Twin/Marshall/Mesa/Vox/Whatever and standing right there in front of it. That's what I thought the Amplifi was trying to simulate?
  15. Thanks for the reply. I ended up doing the same thing as you researching how the placement & different mics that are modeled behave in real world applications in the hope that would help me to understand what to expect and how to use the modeled versions. I'm still a bit shocked that there isn't more discussion regarding this. First of all I think it would be good to be able to disable those settings completely and second we're not talking about a subtle difference, those settings have a huge impact on the sound. I don't know, maybe a lot of users aren't even aware it's there or just leave it at default and try to dial in the sound from there? I've been very busy lately but in a couple weeks I'll have more time to experiment with it and see if I can try to use those settings to my advantage.
  16. Are we all going to share the same tone database? iOS & Android?
  17. Thank god! We can finally stop hearing about it. Anyone know if the tone sharing will be cross-platform?
  18. Yeah, they're pretty good too, I'm happy with them.
  19. Yeah definitely, if you don't have an iOS device and don't have any other use for one then the Amplifi probably wouldn't make sense.
  20. Oh thanks, that makes more sense to me now. I assumed that was supposed to be the volume knob on the modeled amp but I guess its purpose is as another way to control volume between patches independent of the actual volume knob on the Amplifi which thinking about it now I can see how that would be useful. I'm out at the moment but I'll experiment with that later, thanks. Once you learn where everything is and how to adjust & assign things and what's what, this amp is pretty fun. It's also helped me to work along side with the full descriptions list in the knowledge base. I just wish they'ed offer the Shortboard at nice discount to existing Amplifi owners.
  21. Why is there a drive parameter on the Deluxe & Twin Reverb models? Those amps didn't come with a drive knob? I thought the volume slider in the editor for the amp model was supposed to be the volume knob on the modeled amp? (Not talking about the guitar or overall volume settings which are in a different menu and are just that).
  22. I think that's what it comes down to, for the price it's a great deal. Realistically if for $400 - $500 dollars you could viably replace $$$$$$ worth of equipment then what? Nice thing too is that besides something that you can play music & backing tracks on when you're using your "real" equipment it's a a great practice amp so you don't have to put the wear/tear on your tube circuitry. You can use it simultaneously while playing the guitar & having a background track on. The remote app regardless of anything gives you a ton of options and it's easy to use. It's easy to move around. Take it somewhere you don't have to worry about it as much. $500 is a steal for the 150, especially if you're a hobbyist.
  23. I'm surprised no one responded, maybe it's an obvious question but I'm not aware. Why do you have to select a cabinet mic? There's no way to turn that off? Switching between the different mic models is a huge difference in sound maybe even more drastic than switching pickups. Also there's a setting right above it called Early Reflections. What is everyone doing about both of these settings?
  24. If they stated it would be available then you'd have a gripe but you shouldn't have bought it based on a rumor or an assumption. I do agree with you though that they should make an official announcement regarding the issue. Not buying their other products because of it doesn't make sense, really you're just spiting yourself. Another poster brought up a good point about buying a used iPod or iPad and making use of its features for other things as well. If you really like the Amplifi you should do that.
  25. Yeah it's a nice setup. I was thinking about returning the Amplifi for the POD + DT25 combo but then I thought about it and the Amplifi isn't expensive for all it does so I'm going to keep it. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to use the POD with the Amplfi if I don't want to use the DT25 or take it with me for whatever reason. Sounds like the aux-in is the way to go. I'll see how it all works out soon, thanks.
