  1. I'm still in disbelief about the whole thing. I'm not rolling back my phone to the previous iOS that's ridiculous and seems like a huge hassle, I need my phone to be current, Amplifi isn't the only thing I use it for. You're right, this amp isn't worth $500 without the app, not even close. I'm not happy right now, don't know how confident I am to plunk down $1500 for a Helix in light of this. I'm giving Line 6 a chance here to fix this, but if it's not going to be anyday now then they better get some communication going and explain exactly what the problem is and how long it's going to be. The Amplifi 150 is great and everything for what it is but I do need something better and I'm not spending another $200 on this for the shortboard. I'm just going to use this for practicing specific parts of songs but to actually play I need something with the functionality of Helix. Now I'm second guessing that purchase, hope Line 6 makes this right or I'm calling Sweetwater and see what they can do for me and get something else and it's not going to be a Helix if Line 6 doesn't get this sorted out. I really hate to speaking this harshly but this is inexcusable, it's not like the Amplifi 150 is 15 years old and obsolete, it's a current product. Edit - Not to mention if I get the Helix I'm going to need one of those StageSource speakers too. I'm sure I'm not the only person contemplating this big purchase with Line 6, this certainly isn't doing anything for my confidence. For the record this is my second Line 6 product, I bought one of those kidney bean PODs back in the day.
  2. I know, this isn't like it's a minor glitch or something, it's a bit hard to believe. I just don't get what's taking so long, would like some communication, I mean how long is it going to be until I can start using this thing again?
  3. Wow you really got unlucky, can't imagine how angry you must've been as you were frantically trying to figure out a way to get it working so you could play your gig. I have to say, now that I cooled off about the whole thing I am really surprised about this. I'm starting to wonder if there's a problem with fixing this because you would think that they'd have patched it by now, I wonder what the problem could be and why there isn't a fix yet? Really hard to believe that it's not working, plain and simple.
  4. Hey what the hell? I go to play the Amplifi 150 today and it's not working? Reset the phone, try to do the Bluetooth thing again, complete waste of time. After raging for a bit my son checks it out and tells me it's not compatible with iOS 9??? Really???? Sure enough he sets it up with his iPod 5 and it works fine. To think I was actually considering buying a Helix....yeah OKAY. Time to start shopping tube amps and pedals, all I need is electricity. So pissed right now, can't use the product I paid for. Edit - What a joke and people want to talk about this thing being gig ready? I never really thought it was but after this now I'm just LMAO at the question.

  9. I seem to remember having this problem in the beginning but if I remember it was that my iPhone was playing the song and once I stopped that then it doesn't do it anymore but I haven't updated to the latest firmware either. Sorry, hopefully someone else will jump in with a definitive answer.
  10. I think you need to start a new thread?
  11. I think the one reference is to the solo and the other is to the riff right?
  12. I bet a lot of people don't want to bother registering for yet another website...we all have more user IDs and passwords than we can stomach.
  13. Adding a looper would definitely up the ante! :D
  14. Oh sorry, I didn't realize you were looking for something that detailed. I read too quickly, thought you were a new user looking for more info about the models and effects. I think you're going to have to just open the patches manually and record the specifics then.

    Next gen. HD

After seeing what they've done with the Amplifi series I can't wait to see what the next POD is going to be like.

  17. Not having an EQ on the amp for music playback does hurt its effectiveness however some of my MP3's sound great and other not so much, depends on the mixing. Also if your MP3 player has EQ settings that helped me out too. Same thing with listening to videos or running the CD through the aux in, some sounds good others not so much. I don't have any problems with the bluetooth connection though, drops are very infrequent for me.
  18. I don't have firsthand experience but I was considering it myself and did some research. From what I gathered the aux in functions reasonably well with the POD HD however it's a 1/8 jack and some had reservations about that. I also don't feel that the aux in was designed with that purpose in mind (as a multi effects input) so I'm not sure how I feel about it myself. I'd say for home it's probably worth it to give it a try but if I were playing live there's no way I'd want to rely on that setup. I think you need to look at the L2t. As for using the regular guitar input I read that was only mono so again, wasn't designed for that purpose even if you're using it with no amp models. I was also told that certain pedals don't work good with the amp modeling either such as overdrives and such. I love the Amplifi you can't beat it for under $500 but realistically I think there's only so much you can reasonably expect at that price point so I don't have any complaints.
  19. I have to admit I've been a bit reluctant to spend the money for the shortboard if it's not going to function exactly the way I want. Sometimes I think the POD HD and an L2T would have been a better choice but then again the Amplifi was under $500 so I can't complain.
  20. OK great, thanks for all the advice everyone.
  21. OK so I guess the amp modeling doesn't account for this? They're just meant strictly to respond to a guitar signal input and that's it? I'm somewhat new to this stuff, I've never owned a tube amp before. I just recently bought an electric after playing exclusively steel string acoustic and classical for the past 15+ years. Before that I had a couple electrics but just had some cheap solid state amps and a couple B$ effects pedals nothing too sophisticated and I didn't have a clue what I was doing now that I think about it. I didn't even realize that overdrives and distortions added sound in two ways, both from the characteristics of the pedal and in the way the tube amp responds uniquely to the signal from the pedal. I guess maybe certain pedals are designed to create the sound independently on their own and others are meant to "push" the tubes? I'm guessing other pedals that aren't overdrives and distortions should work somewhat the same with the Amplifi models as they would with the real amps though?
  22. I'm wondering how well the amp models work with pedals. As great as all the modeled effects are, there are some pedals I'd like to purchase and use with the Amplifi but I'm wondering if it makes sense to do so. Will the modeled amps respond the same way to pedals as the real amps do or will it not be that effective? Thanks.

    Piano effect

As far as I know the Amplifi doesn't have a model for that however you could get a pedal and use it with your Amplifi, I think that would be your best bet.
  24. I'm looking for some good suggestions for patches or building tones that have these qualities: 1) Subtle overdrive (touch and volume knob sensitive) 2) Good sustain (but not overdone) 3) Subtle delay (for creating atmosphere but you might not know it's there) 4) Character of guitar and pups are preserved Thanks!
