  1. The operating systems needed for Downloading Line 6 apps seem to be older than any of the computers available to me. Will there be a Windows 11 or a Mac OS 14 available soon?
  2. Hello everyone! I’m stuck in a dilemma. I recently purchased a new computer. A 2022 iMac. Prior to having the iMac I had a MacBook Pro 2012. I tried connecting my PODStudio UX2 to my new computer and seeing as though Line 6 Monkey is no longer supported for new Apple products, I downloaded the license manager (most recent software). I also downloaded the most recent drivers that in theory should support my UX2 to my iMac. Guess again, upon scanning for my devices my iMac was found, but not my UX2! I tried uninstalling the newest driver and downloading the previous 7.6.8 driver. Again, no luck. I tried downloading Rosetta 2.0 as a workaround to emulate Apple’s Intel processor from previous apple products and again, no luck. I have ruled out practically every variable with a technician over email and cannot seem to find what the issue is. Is it finally time I put my UX2 to rest and move onto Scarlet?
  3. I was wondering to which date would Line6 be able to support the new Macs coming out. They've got the new Apple M1 processor, so the old drivers wouldn't work, I think. Without these drivers, you can forgot the new Mac, regarding the usage of Line6 products. The operating system Big Sur is compatible with most products, as stated here: Another page with Big Sur compatibility from Sweet Water: https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/macos-11-big-sur-compatibility-guide/ Yet another very good page for the compatibility on M1 and music production software in general (unfortunately without mentioning Line6): https://isapplesiliconready.com/for/music For my original question from Nov, 2020 there is still no official answer from Line6 or anyone else. There are news about the upcoming M1X or M2 processors, for which the very same is true: no new drivers, no native support. Similar questions to my original question: https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/line6-not-supporting-apple-anymore-is-native-a-dying-product.2245162/ In this german forum a guy says he had no latency or any other issues with MacBook Air M1 / Big Sur 11.4 with the software Helix Native: https://www.musiker-board.de/threads/helix-native-in-logic-pro-auf-m1-macbook-air.721520/
  4. Is there any news on the Line 6 drivers for Apple M1 series? It's been two years now that Apple released the new computers with the M1 chip, but until now no support from Line 6. An Ear deafening silence. I'm a bit afraid I need to sell my HD500X and use effects software with my DAW software.
  5. Background Apple has recently pivoted away from using Intel-based CPUs with its computers, instead favoring the Apple Silicon processor, also known as the M1 Chip. Both Intel and Apple Silicon systems run on macOS 11.0 Big Sur. As it stands, some Line 6 products are not fully supported on computers using Apple Silicon processors, so we cannot offer technical support for those products installed on M1 systems at this time. We highly encourage you to check with the manufacturers' websites of your music system’s hardware and software for M1 compatibility. Workaround on M1 Systems NOTE: Any workarounds offered are not official solutions. Issues experienced with workarounds offered cannot be addressed until official support is offered. Starting with Big Sur macOS 11, Apple introduced Rosetta v2, which allows applications to run in an emulated mode. Rosetta runs automatically with our software that is NOT a plugin. To use Rosetta with our plugins, locate your DAW in the Applications folder. Use command ⌘+I and check the “Open in Rosetta” box. You may have to rescan your plugins afterwards. Testing Applications and plugins tested (latest versions) on M1 systems running macOS 11.0 Big Sur: Helix Native: working as expected on DAWs running under Rosetta Echo Farm 3.0: working as expected on DAWs running under Rosetta Amp Farm 4.0: working as expected on DAWs running under Rosetta POD Farm 2 (Plugin): working on DAWs running under Rosetta, but takes a few seconds to appear after adding an instance of the plugin POD Farm 2 (Standalone): working as expected Ampeg SVT Suite: working as expected on DAWs running under Rosetta HX Edit: working as expected POD Go Edit: working as expected Powercab Edit: working as expected POD HD500 Edit: App launched properly, device was unable to connect POD HD500X Edit: App launched properly, device was unable to connect POD Pro X Edit: App launched properly, device was unable to connect Spider Valve Mk II Edit: working as expected Spider V Remote: working as expected Spider IV Remote: working as expected Workbench HD: working as expected Line 6 FBV Control: working as expected Line 6 Updater: working as expected Line 6 License Manager: installs as expected, yet devices do not populate in Line 6 License Manager. 8. Changes to macOS Security Policy With Silicon processor computers running macOS Big Sur or greater, Apple has changed their security policy. These machines no longer allow third party drivers to be installed in the manner that they previously had. Driver installs now require the macOS security settings to be lowered before installation. As Silicon is still new to everyone, we expect to see bug fixes, changes and optimizations to macOS Big Sur and possibly subsequent macOS releases over the coming months. With that, the Silicon driver install process may change as well. As such, we encourage you to update your Silicon machine to the latest Big Sur version, which is currently 11.6, before installing drivers. Changing Security Settings Apple’s guide to changing security settings on a Silicon Mac are found at: https://support.apple.com/en-lk/guide/m … 8f7291/mac · Shut down your Mac · Press and hold the power button until you see "Loading startup options …". Your Mac will boot into Recovery mode. · Click Options (the gear icon), then click Continue · In macOS Recovery, you may need to choose your account and click Next. Enter the password and click Continue. · In the top menu go to Utilities...Startup Security Utility · Select the system on which you want to install the Driver. If the disk is encrypted with FileVault, click Unlock, enter the password, and then click Unlock. · Click Security Policy, choose Reduced Security and check the option to allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers · Click OK. Enter the password for your account and click OK. · Restart your Mac from Apple menu Rosetta Installation When installing the Line 6 driver from the downloaded dmg file, you may be prompted to install Rosetta. · If so, click “Install”. Enter your password when requested. · If you see “System Extension Blocked”, go into System Preferences...Security and Privacy, click the lock, enter your password, click Unlock, and choose Allow. · Restart your Mac. Driver Removal It is advised that no programs are open, especially programs that may require the kext that is about to be removed. 1. In Finder, locate the kext file that is to be removed. Kext files are located in Library/Extensions. Keep this finder window open. 2. Open Terminal. Type the following command followed by the pathway of the kext that you would like to remove. Type without the quotes: "sudo kmutil unload -p /Library/Extensions/<Kext Name>". (ex. "sudo kmutil unload -p /Library/Extensions/L6Helix.kext") and click enter. 3. Enter your password. There should be no message after this. 4. Go to the finder window that was left open in step 1 and remove the kext file to the trash. You will be prompted to enter your password. 5. Restart your computer. 6. Go to Library/Extensions in finder and verify that the kext file is no longer in the extensions folder. If you see a message in Terminal (after Step 3), chances are there is another program open operating in the background that may interrupt the command. If so, restart your computer - verify there are no applications open and begin steps 1-6 again.
  9. For best results its recommended that the Apple branded USB Camera Connection Kit is needed for a proper connection with your iOS device. Non-Apple Camera Connection kits are could be subject to improper connection. Be sure you're using the correct adapter kit, if you have trouble connecting. Stated in the Spider V 20 manual: iOS device operation requires use of Apple USB Camera Connection Kit, sold separately. iOS version 10 or greater is required.

  11. I have been experiencing connection issues in the past using the USB dongles. I have decided to scrap the USB dongles all together. I have the apple usb adapter and it works perfectly. I have both the apple airport express and a linksys router ( I have 2 M20D's, 1 for our church and one for an install I am doing). I have tested both the airport express and the linksys and I can connect to them with the ipad with no issues and its much faster than the USB. My question is, can I use this setup to connect the M20D to my existing wireless network? And if so, can you explain how to do it either router, the Apple Airport Express and a Cisco Linksys WRT110? With my install, I'd rather not have to instruct them to switch wireless networks when trying to connect to the M20D. It is being installed in a township building in their main meeting space. I'd prefer to use the Linksys in the township building and the Airport Express in our church. Any help would be appreciated! B)

  14. Hi I bought a Line 6 Variax Standard about a year ago, I have got a 2011 Macbook Pro running OSX 10.7.5 and yet I cannot get the guitar to talk with either Monkey or Workbench. Each time it gets to the update section in Monkey it freezes then crashes. Any ideas? One side of the USB interface is green, but the side where the guitar plugs in has a red light. 15. I've been using my Pod UX1 for about 5 years now with absolutely no issues. Today i updated to El Capitan and suddenly i'm getting no audio from pod farm and no visible input signal. Not only that but when i try to open Logic Pro 9 it scans all my audio units and then stops on POD Farm forever. It will NOT scan Podfarm. What is wrong here? I have all the latest drivers etc but it just isn't working. Should i try reinstalling podfarm or is it simply that Line 6 hasn't updated it yet? HELP
  16. Anyone else experiencing problems with the Amplifi App shuuting down when a bluetooth connection is made to any device running the iOS 9 beta . I also had this same problem with iOS 8.3. App would always crash, Problem resolved when 8.4 was introduced. (btw, other than this problem, the iOS 9 is a big jump, so torn about uninstalling. Thanks D. Weeks
  17. *** Problem has been solved. If you use iTunes Match, any song you try to play through the AMPLIFi App will not play. The actually song has to be on your actual device.*** The biggest issue (not for me because I am an apple user) is that this is NOT geared for anyone who uses anything else but iOS and buys their music through iTunes (this iTunes part is a problem for me because I do not buy all my music through iTunes). With the AMPLIFi app, you can only stream music that has been purchased through iTunes. Also, this music is the only music that pulls up suggested tones to match the music. ***All devices (iOS, Android, Mac, PC, Windows Phones) will be able to stream their audio to the amp via Bluetooth (provided it has Bluetooth capability). But the amp's tone matching functions DO NOT WORK with anything else but iOS and music strictly purchased through iTunes. I am assuming that this is how the tone matching works. Line 6 must have teamed up with Apple and use the metadata in the music from iTunes to match up tones. Even music that you put into your iTunes library from CDs or if you purchased through Amazon will not be able to be streamed through the AMPLIFi app and have tone matching capabilities.*** I have found this out when I was messing with the free iPhone AMPLIFi app. Check out my video of that here.
  18. Hello all, I was wondering if it's possible to connect a Toneport UX2 to an iPad to record with Garageband for example. Does anyone know if this is possible, and how? Kind regards, Herman
  19. Hi I've just bought an AMPLIFI 75 and exploring all the functionalities. At the beginning i was confused because I thought I could connect via bluetooth an android device with the App on top and another device like my iphone to play a backing track, but this is not possible. I can connect just a device at a time. So If I want to play backing track from my mac os i have to use the aux in, no way to do this using bluetooth together with the app form my tablet. But I don't understand why i cannot connect to the amplifi via bluetooth using my mac book pro, i cannot see the device in the list of discovered device. Is this correct? I've tried also with a dell computer, the same result. So Amplifi can be reached only by tablets, phone,.. it's strange. thanks Paolo
  20. Before I start to throw my MacBook into the wall along with everything else, I thought I would just try and pose my question here since nothing I have read seems to work or is the same problem I have, just similar. I am running a MacBook Pro 2010 with Yosemite I have GearBox installed Garageband installed I can plug my UX2 via USB and it shows power however it is not recognized anywhere. Gearbox gives me a flashing USB, Garageband shows nothing and if I open Line6 Monkey for updates it shows I have a POD xt (Unless this is another name for UX2 than I don't own one) There is no option for TonePort on any program I use. Even if I try updates in monkey(though I have to choose POD xt as the device as it is the only choice) , it says I can't connect to the internet, which I obviously can. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times with the same outcome. I have an older Mac that runs on the old Power PC processor which it runs perfectly fine on, but there is no need to clutter my workspace with yet another computer.... My USB's work fine for any other device I plug in. I have installed this device on 2 windows machines and 1 Mac and have never had any issues so what am I missing? Is there a compatibility issue with Yosemite?

  24. Hello all, Currently, I have been recording some songs on my UX2 and everything is turning out pretty good. The program I'm using at the moment is GarageBand (might get Reaper) and I have questions regarding the program and recording. 1) How do I go about recording vocals and guitar at the same time BUT on separate tracks? (if that makes any sense at all, the weird diagram down there should 'hopefully' explain my objective). |Guitar|~~~~~~~ |Vocals|~~~ ~~ 2) What my problem is, is that I record the both the guitar and vocals but the two come out on the same track. I have even tried making a separate track (like the diagram up there) and I still get the same result. What am I doing wrong and what do I need to fix? Multi-tracking didn't work either but I assume I'd still need to multi-track if I'm going to record vocals and guitar at the same time, right? 3) I usually mic up the guitar as well, but am I better off just putting the guitar into the UX2's input? If there is a link that answers this question, by all means share. Thank you in advance :)
