  3. Aloha, wondering if anyone has come up with a foam windscreen for the Sonic Port VX. Pretty sure that recording in the field would be greatly improved. My thought so far is just to pick up a standard mic cover that fits dimensionally and snip the top off for access to inputs and outputs. Just figure I am not the first to have the idea and wanted to see what was out there. Using a pop screen in the studio is the jam but outside it's picking up a lotta background noise. Rock on Namaste

  5. Can the Sonic Port VX simultaneously record from two or three inputs? I read in an earlier forum post that the toggle lets you choose only one input at a time. I wanted to know if it would be possible, perhaps via a firmware hack, to enable all three inputs for simultaneous recording? Here's my user story: I'm a general aviation pilot (I fly little single-engine airplanes), and I record my flights via GoPro and iPhone devices. Lately, I've been strea-ming my flights on Periscope, and when Facebook Live is made public I'll be using that as well. I'm one of thousands of pilots around the world who do this for fun. To see how this all works check out some of the Facebook Live recordings on https://www.facebook.com/CirrusPilot (not my site). One of the limitations when you do recordings like this is that you have to choose between recording the in-cockpit noise (engine sounds, etc.) and recording the radio communications. Most pilots choose to record just the radios, but this means that you only hear sound when pilots or Air Traffic Control are speaking. What's a shame is that when you do this kind of recording you really want to record the cockpit sounds for background effect (at low volume), and have the radio sound come in (at full volume). The only way to really get your recordings to have this effect is in post-production, which rules out using it live for Periscope and Facebook Live. It would be awesome if Sonic Port VX could simultaneously take input from the Guitar port and the built-in microphone, along with some adjustment mechanism to control the volume of the microphone. If Sonic Port VX could be used like this, I think you'd get a lot of pilots buying it. Sincerely, Hans ps: With li-ve strea-ming becoming ever more popular, I can easily see a market for this functionality outside of aviation. Anywhere someone might want to record background sound with the microphone and simultaneously add higher-quality audio via the AUX or Guitar jacks
  6. Hi guys! I'm gonna be traveling for a year with my wife (who's also a guitarist) so we're putting together an small compact rig to do some busking together on the road (I use a Variax JTV59 and she uses a Variax 700 Acoustic). We are fans of the AMPLIFi series and the 30 is certainly the perfect size. We think the Remote app is terrific, tone-matching is pretty cool and we love the versatility the Bluetooth functionality offers for streaming playback tracks and our music library. Ideally we will like to take just one amp with us so we want to figure out if we can plug both our guitars into the AMPLIFi 30 by running one through the 1/4 inch guitar input and the other through the 1/8 inch aux input using a Sonic Port VX: guitar into 1/4 inch input and then from 1/8 inch stereo headphone output into the aux input of the AMPLIFi. Will that work? If it doesn't what alternatives will you recommend for running two guitars through the AMPLIFi 30? Thanks so much for the input guys! Cheers
  7. I was just about to purchase a SONIC PORT VX. Then I realized I'll be getting an iPhone 7 soon. Since the iPhone 7 doesn't have an AUX JACK how will the SONIC PORT VX work with it?

  9. Good morning! Santy Claus dropped a Sonic Port VX off Christmas morning. I dutifully put together a demo-quality track using GarageBand on iPad, but now I've got problems. How do I use this cool Sonic Port VX with a laptop running Win8.1? I've diligently searched all the usual websites and even a couple audio studio app sites, no joy. Not gonna go with an Apple Air, because then I'm not able to buy Line6 products. ;-) Please help me, O Wizards O Wise Ones! :-)
  10. Hi. This is my first post and any help is greatly appreciated. My SPVX is connected to iPad via lightning cable. I'm using Auria and I'm happy with it. My L and R outputs are connected (via balanced jacks) to active monitors and I also have headphones plugged into the SPVX. Direct Monitoring is on. My problem is that the sound is output to the speakers and the headphones (might sound obvious but I had assumed the direct monitoring would come through the headphones only and would not come through the speakers unless in playback). Obviously this is giving me feedback and/or unwanted audio in the recordings. The easiest way round the problem is to unplug or turn off the monitors when recording and switch them back on for mixing. However, I don't want to be fussing back and fore with that if I can help it. Any suggestions to mute the speakers during recording? Thanks in advance.
  11. Hello together, greetings from Germany. just a short question. my intention is to use my Sonic Port VX as a Microphon for direct imput into my stereo loop Pedal without a mobile device and without a computer. the idea is to using the USB connector to a powerbank, picup my accustic guitar with the stereo mic of the sonicport and unsing the left and right outputs directly to the looper. did any one knows about the specification for the output of the powerbank, oder the USB charger? 5v 1ma. ore 5v 2.1ma? thanks and by by ps: sorry fo my bad english :-)
  12. First of all, I have posted the following problem in the Reaper and IK Multimedia forums, but haven't got a real answer. Secondly, My set-up: Me -> Godin Session -> Evidence cable -> Sonic Port VX -> Win7, 64bit, i7, 8GB Ram -> Reaper/standalone programs. The headphones are my AKG K518 and K77. When I'm using my guitar with the sonic port into Amplitube 3 or Pod Farm (either in stand alone or VST) I get a really fizzy sound with overdrive/distortion. Also, in amplitube the difference in volume between clean setting and dirty (especially with an overdrive pedal) is HUGE. In the amplitube manual it says the following: "Tip: if while browsing AmpliTube 3 presets you find that all clean sounds are too quiet and all lead sounds are too high, this means that you’re using a too low input gain on your audio interface.". Now, I can't change the input level, and even after playing with all the input knobs I still get the same results. Has something like this happend to some one else? Any help would be much appreciated.
  13. Are there any plans to create an Android version of Mobile POD? I just purchased a Sonic Port VX as a recording interface for my PC and am pretty satisfied with it so far. However, I have never been a fan of iOS, so it would be really cool if there was Mobile POD app for Android as well. Just curious because I noticed that Amplifi recently came out on Android.
  14. I'm getting a new phone today. I already have the Sonic Port VX and use it with an iPad Mini. I'd like it to work with whatever phone I get. Support for the iPhone 6 seems vague. I know it's not on the compatability list for the Sonic Port VX. But several users here seem to have it working. I haven't seen anything official, though... So, differences in the phones aside, if I want to use my Sonic Port VX with it, am I getting the iPhone 6 or the iPhone 5S? Thanks! Chris
  15. Hi, On the last weeks, I can't play guitar anymore on Mobile POD and Sonic Port VX on my iPhone 5. I've had the VX for 2 months and it worked fine initially. Now, when I start playing, the VX output starts to saturate (it takes sometimes minutes, sometimes seconds) until it delivers pure white noise. I suspect that some of latest Mobile POD's and/or iOS's updates have led to this behaviour. I haven't tried on both microphones options. The switch is most of the time on the guitar position. Here's the setup: iPhone 5, iOS v8.1.3 Mobile POD v1.7.2 I've also tried with Amplitube and get the same noise. Sonic Port VX still works fine when connected to the Mac for Pro Tools I/O. Thanks in advance for your help! JM Sola https://soundcloud.com/jm-sola
  16. Hi, I was originally going to contact support about this, but thought that experienced users may have some advice for me with regard to purchase of the Sonic Port VX. Here's my problem. I purchased a Sonic Port last year. The thing worked intermittently for about 4 mos or so. Then it died. After a lot of logistical crap with troubleshooting and dialoging with Line 6, I finally returned the product. It took a long time, but Line 6 was good enough to send me a brand new, factory sealed Sonic Port. However, during that time the VX model was released. Now I'm seriously considering purchasing one of these units. Here's the rub. I never opened the new Sonic Port Line 6 sent me. It is still factory sealed and in the box. I'm wondering if Line 6 would take it on trade for a Sonic Port VX, and if so, how much credit would I get on the unit toward the Sonic Port VX? Also, if I decided to sell it, would Line 6 honor the warranty on the unit for the buyer? If anyone has suggestions, info, etc on this, I'd be much obliged. Thank you.
  17. Hi. I have a brand new Sonic Port VX and while it works great with the mobile pod app and other software, I find that when I plug in the mini USB cable supplied and connect that cable to my iPhone charger that I get the "this accessory may not be supported" warning and my device will not charge. This happens with both my iPhone 5s and my iPad mini. Both have iOS 8.1.1 installed though this also happened before I updated from 8.1 as well. I am using the supplied cables and have also tried different chargers but with no joy.
  18. Hi, I'm wondering what kind of guitar signal it records into My DAW both on PC & on My iPad? I own a Pod Pro XT and HD500 and want to being able to reamp the dry guitar signal recorded with Sonic Port VX into them (like when you use the Unprocessed Guitar Out signal on the Pods), or using Insert Plugins like Pod Farm2 or EzMix Presets on My PC? Does it record a wet signal at the same time? Or can you choose what signal to record. Sorry if I'm blurry :-) /Stefan
