  1. The problem is that I i don't use it like a distortion patch for bass. I use it like a pedalbord with the clean amp on all the time and using the preamp more like a distortion pedal (along with other fx) when I need it. EQ:ing your whay would thereby unfortunately not work for me.
  2. Thanks for the input! I'm currently using the GK amp sim for clean and I'm happy with the sound I'm getting. Perhaps some high cut would be in order. Suggestions without altering the sound? For the distortion I'm using the Engel F-ball pre and I think I'm getting some where now (had some wierd phase issues). Where would you set the low cut?
  3. This might be covered in some ways allready but here we go. I'm not really trying to exactly replicate somebody's bass tone or anything but if someone knows a simple way of doing that with your POD HD500X and plug in for DAW (Reaper 5) please go ahead! What i'm trying to do is this: I have I clean bass tone that i'm quite happy with. For distortion I run i parallell signal with distorted preamp for gain. It sounds good, but something is missing (or to much of) when turning the distortion amp on, compared to the clean amp model. My thinking was that it would be nice to play those to into some type of spectrum analyser to match the freq better. Can this be done and how? /Danne
  4. Stil don't get how this eq isn't neutral from start...
  5. That's how I've found it to be the most usefull!
  6. I Never really understood that thing. What does it actually do? I've just keept it in 1M because it seems to give the tone a bit more body and top end.
  7. Hello guys! Is it possible the set the global eq "neutral", by wich I mean that it does not alter the sound? I Have it in it's factory settings (found on this forum) and I find that it alter the sound a whole lot when turned on in this configuration. With my bass plugged in it seems to cut some low end and overall "suck" the tone out of it. I would like to use it for cutting some higher freq but in this configuration it's not going to do it for me. What are the global eq's neutral settings? /Danne
  8. I have this problem as well for some time now on and off with my HD500X. It seems like it's most prone to happen when I have played around with it, turned some effects on/off and THEN try to open up HD Edit. It's irritating but I have always solved it by just click "import setlist" or "import all". It Works just fine for me!
  9. And how would one go about to compensate for this faktor?
  10. But the signal shouldn't be hotter when the panning is hard left/right?
  11. So there is no easy fix like figuring out the differens in volume between having two of the same amp vs just one of the two?
  12. This might be a slightly stupid question but I can't figure it out. I have been running a dual amp settup (GK sim with big ampeg cabs) for my bass and I think it sounds really good. The setup is basicly to different paths (effect wise) with a pair of the same amp model, with the exakt same settings. I did this settup just for keeping some clean signal when using distortion. The downside to this setup is that it takes a lot of DSP and if I want to make some slight adjustments, I have to do it twice and thats a pain in the lollipop. So I thought that the I would get the same result when keeping the dual paths, but removing one amp block and placing the one left right behind the mixer. Now I'm able to have the same settup but without the mentioned hussle right? As this sounds VERY simular to the dual settup something is missing and I can't place my finger on it. It just doesn't sound as "full". Why is that? It should sound the same when compensating for the loss of volume? I have the mixer panned full left and right, and tried to compensate for the volume change with the channel volume and even master volume, but it still sounds different. Is the answer to this just that two of the same amps togheter sounds better than just one, or am I missing something here? /Danne
  13. A little update: As I mentioned earlier, the pitch glide for some reason appears to sound the most transparent when turned on with 100% mix and pitch at 0.0 (heel position). Unfortunatley this made all the low end go away when using the effect (hence one of the reason with the dual amps). After a whole lot of trial and error, I have it now set it up like this: Pitch glide first in signal before split. At FX pedal heel postion: pitch 0.0 and mix 100%. FX pedal toe position: pitch 12.00 and mix 75 %. This settup is not perfect, but gives me the most transparent sound when engaging the effect, while keeping at least some of the low end of my bass while using it. If someone has a better solution, please share, and if not, thank you all for your help :)
  14. I might do some testing on that. I would love me some more midrange growl for my bass patches! One more question, where do you do the bass cut, if any at all?
  15. Getting a bit of topic here, but have you tried out the 410 cab for the GK? I find it sounds rather "thin" while matched to the GK amp. I find it sound better with the Ampeg for some reason.
  16. Indeed. Clean tones are good. Getting distortion tones is hard and just getting a bit of "grind" is really hard.
  17. I distortion/overdrive friendly for us forgotten bass players with a clean blend!
  18. I'm btw using the bass model pack, so your results may differ a bit if you don't have that instaled!
  19. Hm thanks for trying to help. I will try this out a bit myself but I do need those effects so I probably have to compromise a bit with the Pitch glide.
  20. What if I would place something to change the phase? Isn't there one of the EQ pedals that can do that?
  21. So I have been testing this out for a few hours and this is what I figured out: 1. This "fenomenon" is not as noticeable when placing the pitch glid first in the signalchain (especially the split) 2. When having it's mix on 100% (and pitch 0%) the sound seems to be the most transparent, BUT HOWEVER when you turn the mix lower the pitch glide colours the sound more and also feels louder when around 50 % 3.) It only works this way when the effect is placed first in the signal path - placing it after the split (dual signal chains) it somehow colours the sound even more, regardless of mix is att 100-50% I think this is really wierd! I now have the pitch glide first in the signal with the mix att 75%, which i found to be somewhat transparent while stil maintaining atleast some of the low end from the bass. The whole purpose of the dual signal chain was to keep the low end but the effect doesn't function that way for me.... And yes, I tried changing the different inputs and such but nada.
  22. THIS is what I ment. Sorry for using the wrong terminology! I Want to be able to turn the pitch on and NOT get any pitch shift until I move the EXP!
