  1. In another thread i asked about Midi control of a DT25 via a 500,it would appear from the response that i can (possibly)use the L6 link to control switching of the DT25(by Midi),but have the Guitar running into the DT input & not the 500 input. Can anyone tell me if it's possible have the same input situation(Guitar into DT25),but be able to use the effects of the 500 using the Send/Return circuit? Sorry If this is a stupid question, but i've never used a S/R circuit(or effects either for that matter)put a playing situation's coming up that may make it necessary to use effects(then the questions really start :D ) & i'm really lucky to have new playing jobs on the horizon at my age,so i'm working at it,with a lot of help from you gentlemen, thanks.
  2. So,it needs to be a MIDI cable & not the L6 Link?,would that mean me configuring the Midi?,or could i use the Edit software? I've never used Midi,so i could be dead before i get it working  Thanks for replying.
  3. I have read in a post that a Pod HD500X can be used for MIDI switching with a DT25,i have read the Midi document for the DT25(didn't understand most of it).but i have a couple of questions, If i use a 500X via L6 link,to alter DT amp settings, does the Guitar signal have to go through the 500X,or can it plugged directly into the DT? so,if Ch A -B settings are altered by the 500X,with the Guitar in the DT input, would it connect to the settings set by the 500,or do i have to plug into the 500? I'm trying to avoid running the Guitar through the 500,initially.
  4. Thanks,Radatats.I'll chew on it & maybe try & beg/borrow a 500X & see how i feel. I have to say that after months of failure & frustration with the GT100 & HD500X,i vowed i would NEVER buy such a device again,in fact i said to the boss,if i ever bring one of these MFX pedals into the house again, she could have me certified as insane & cart me off to the nearest institution, she can't wait, :( But the idea of having instant recall of my DT settings, might make me risk it. Don't even want to think about the consequences of a Helix. :D
  5. Radatats,If you don't mind me pursuing the 500X pre into DT question, are you saying you find that the 500X pre into the DT,works just as well as using the DT pre ? Also, from reading manuals etc,am i correct that when using the 500X into the DT,the Guitar is plugged into the 500X input, then the Guitar(as well as control) signal is carried by the L6 link via an AES 110 Ohm. cable?. Thanks.
  6. But will it ruin the sound of the DT ?,i really couldn't get a single usable patch out of the 500X i had & i'm talking, just simply a good dry Guitar sound, not effects.
  7. This is a follow up to my Possible DT25 Purchase, thread. As i posted in previous thread,i have bought the DT25,but i couldn't get a band practice organised,so i took the Amp over to our normal practice room, where i'm very familiar with my normal sound/volume,i also took the Amp i've been using for about 12 mths to compare. Plugged the DT in no downloading, just the Amp at factory settings. This Amp will nail my required sounds & is (to me)way better than my present amp, which i didn't bother to plug in :) I can't believe this amp uses the same pre-amp tech as the 500X(which i have read on the forum is the case),i tried for months to get a usable sound out of a 500X,but gave up & sold it,all my posts are probably find able,if anyone's bothered or interested. I will only need Topology 2 & 4(from now on T2,T4), T2,A & B,will give me my Rhythm/Lead ,versions of my Rhythm & Blues/Rock & Roll sounds(think driven Feelgood,Stones, early James Burton(Ricky Nelson era). T4,A & B will give me Rhythm/Lead versions of my more used Rock/Blues sound(Billy Gibbons ish). Now what i need to be able to do is to Switch A & B(easy with a Footswitch),but i think more difficult switch T2 ,T4. Just realised as i'm writing this,i can't do what i'm thinking, all the CH A/B Gain.Eq controls are static :( ,back to the drawing board  Anyway back to the sound,i can't believe i've never seen/heard on of these in use at a gig. Sorry for my rambling, disjointed post, they always end up like this(old age)
  8. Cheers,BillyBee.All i'll do is give it a quick check to make sure everything functions, then wait for band practice(or is it rehearsal). You know it's funny, but when i started playing i played in a "Group' & there was 4 of us,now i play in a "Band" & there's only 3 of us. :D i don't use an Amp in the house, well trained. :)
  9. Ok,thanks,so the revision is just the document. Amps here :D
  10. Thanks,Radatats.I've downloaded the info you posted & read the reset procedure, which looks like holding 2 switches while switching on & wait for the lights to stop flashing(always a tense moment). I'll no doubt be asking more questions. :) Well this was sooner than I thought,in the downloads section there are 2 different L6 Link Docs.a Rev 2.0 & a Rev 2.1,what do the rev 2.0 & 2.1,refer to,is it Amp or Pedal software? I know i'm way ahead of myself, but spotted these & just curious,(for now :D )
  11. From pretty much everything i've read on this & other Forums,(some where Line 6 amps are frowned upon),most people praise the sound/feel quality,(which is what i heard in the shop),but they take a bit of a kicking for reliability, even on this forum. So i've bought a hardly used bedroom DT25,we'll see how it pans out, should pick it up Tomorrow. Thanks gentlemen for all your replies & advice & Palico i did say i couldn't get to grips with the 500x & GT100,but i did use the 2 Cube 60's(well 5 actually)for many years & was very happy with them,so here goes.
  12. Thanks, for the replies i'm negotiating for a DT25,i'll have to try one. Uber Guru,i started playing in the late 50's,when clean didn't exist,no such think as a clean valve amp, except big watts, which i'm not interested in. :)
  13. I failed miserably with a HD500X(& a GT100)spent months of frustration with each. But i know modeling amps can work for me,i gigged with 2 Cube 60's for nearly 10yrs. I've tried a DT25 in a local shop & it sounded/felt really good, but while researching on here it seems the models are the same or similar to the HD500X,so now i'm dithering, any opinions or thoughts ?.
  14. I know nothing about any of this & i'm a confirmed failure with the 500X,but i'm reading up on DT25 amps & i keep reading about people using an XLR cable instead of an AES cable which can/will cause communication problems,i don't know which you use,but i thought i'd mention it.
  15. Thanks, guys.I'll digest the info & start plugging in,i didn't reply to pfsmiths post, because i'm not really clear what i'm trying to achieve,i'm turning out to be useless in getting to grips with MFX pedals, this is my second attempt with a major brand & i just get lost, but on the bright side,i'm still alive & gigging. :)
  16. Hi,i'm back to 2 using amps,i've been using the HD left output into Combo front of a single amp. I now have a second Amp which has a send/return section, any suggestions on the best way to Cable,to use both amps? Thanks.
  17. I've never recorded anything with it,but I have old Sonar Home Studio 7 recording Software,i see from the replies that you guys are using an Audio Interface between the HD & your computer software. Is the Interface required,or is it for better quality recordings? Thanks.
  18. I haven't posted in a bit about my efforts with the 500X,not much point with my temporary(i hope)hearing issue, but i'm stilling reading pretty much every thread on the HD section. I learn something all the time & the BIG thing i've learned in this thread is I can select NO CAB,it's so obvious when it's pointed out,but i had missed it,it could make quite a difference, while i'm still useing my Combo Amp,thanks Aerosol :)
  19. Hi,mtreehugger.Just reading through the DT section,I can't find the solo6 model,is it part of an add on Pack,or am i looking in the wrong place.? Cheers,O.R.
  20. Thanks for all the info,i'll pass it onto the bass player & let him decide,i suspect he'll go for the Shure SE535V,he knows the name & they have 2 x Bass drivers,so they MUST be better :) ,plus there are some pretty good deals on them in the UK,i'll go with the Behringer P1 to amplify them with. It'll take a couple of weeks, but i'll report back how we get on. Once again thanks.
  21. Just to be clear, the Shure in-ears i mentioned are the 535V they are 2 way,but with Dual Bass Drivers & a Single mid/high,so 3 drivers in total. UK Retail 319 but can be bought for less. 800 for in-ears is for rock stars,we're not :) pfsmith0,i understood the Behringer P1 is a driver, with left/right balance,Volume & anti-feedback,have i got this wrong?,do i still need another component? Thanks.
  22. Quote from leisure491 [As far as the in-ears themselves go, I would say they're the biggest disadvantage to going IEM. Personally, it takes me a lot of $$$$ to get a sound I'm happy with. As it wasn't till I finally broke down and got the 4 driver Shures that I was happy. The singles and doubles just didn't please my ear, they always sounded thin. But that could be my hearing problems coming in to play there as well.] Hi,leisure491.have you tried the Shure 535 with Dual Bass drivers & a single Mid/High driver, that i mentioned above,we have never tried any in ears, but they seem like they might be aimed at Bass & Drums. Anyone any thoughts on the Behringer P1,to get us going?
  23. Guys, thanks for the replies,it looks like the Bass player's decided on the Shure 535,because it's got 2 bass drivers :) ,so that's the easy bit,a bit more money than he planned(but it always is)right? I just need to work out what to use to amplify them & sort out a mix from my old MixWizard. pfsmith0,after reading your reply i checked out the X32,nice,but way out of our Pub band budget, but the X18,looks really interesting, never had a Behringer product, but that reads very good especially for the cost. I'd value your opinion on the way i'm thinking of driving the Shures, which is(after reading the Behringer site) a Behringer P1,fed from 2 Aux outs on the MixWizard to give a sort of stereo feed, wired is ok,he dosen't move around anymore(takes him all his time to stand up :D ),any thoughts on this as a way of getting up & running? Cheers.

    I.E.M's. ?

I don't know if this is the correct section, but i have an HD500X,so i'll ask here. :) . With the recent problems with my hearing, plus the general diminishing hearing of the other Old Git in the Band,we've started talking about useing IEM's for our small gigs. Can anyone on the forum offer an advice or words of wisdom, about decent value for money IEM's & how to go about getting to grips with using them,we're thinking lower end of Shure range etc.,but very open to suggestions :) . Thanks.
