Having not explained my original question very well I thought the attached pics would help. As you can see in pic #1 I have loaded [5]five of the IR slots on my HELIX App. As you can see in pic#2, only [2]two IR's show up on the Helix itself- can anyone tell me what I'm missing ?Why am I not seeing a list of the five loaded IR's I see on my HELIX app ? PIC#1 PIC#2

Boy, I hope this isn't a common Helix failing, have had mine almost a month now..

Silverhead, I would very much like and appreciate such a preset if it isn't too much of an inconvenience. EF

Thanks soundog, jnysen and Wallyg, think I'm going to try your method soundog-- XLR out ofHELIX using left MONO into the balanced 1/4" input of the L1... what is 'Tonematch' ?
-
Wallyg, 1/4" outs, huh ? That surprises me, thought it'd be better to go XLR out of HELIX into the BOSE XLR mic inputs.. no good ?
-
Tried searching this topic as I suspect it's been covered but didn't have any luck in turing it up- those of you who're connecting your HELIX to your BOSE L1, would you please post exactly how you're doing it, which outputs and how you have them set, etc ? Pictures would be ideal as it appears I'm dense-er than most..

Would love to see pics of your rig w/ the Altos..

Hi Scott, have emailed request, many thanks!

I would add to this a thorough review of the HELIX YouTube clips, of which there are some pretty good ones.Looking beyond all of the inherent limitations [ poorly recorded, compressed etc] these clips are very helpful in deciding if you're hearing something you dig. That's what I did, first read everything I could find and then listened to almost all of the HELIX clips/ reviews/ tests I could find. I decided I liked what I was hearing and calculated that if it sounded good to me under less than optimal conditions, I could get some very cool sounds of my own once I was hands-on. It's been 12 days now and I feel like I'm just beginning to get familiar. Am very much digging the HELIX.

OK I'm not kidding, this made me laugh so hard I actually snorted! That said, tuna on rye toast w/ a little black pepper and a bag o' chips is no joke. That's a serious sandwhich is what that is. Just add a slice of provolone and you're making a statement.

I want to do a factory reset to get a look at some of the updated HELIX factory patches. Prior to doing a facotry reset I've saved a bundle backup to my desktop with my custom-sequenced presets. Are these the correct protocols; 1. first, review the updated factory presets I may want to keep, 2. second, save these updated HELIX factory presets to my desktop 3. third, re-import the saved 'bundle' Will I see my custom ordered+named patches in the exact same slots I left them ? And the factory preset patches where I assigned them ? Should I be backing up via 'bundle', or 'setlist' ? How do I retain my saved custom-sequenced patches and retain the newly selected factory presets ?

come on line 6 give us frequent updates with new fx and amp/cab sims
electricfactory replied to fastnloud's topic in Helix
This probably best represents where I am. As a new HELIX owner, and frankly a new comer to the Wonderful World of IR I'm still working my way around the learning curve. I'm as interested in the next guy in more patch choices. cabs/ options etc. But the truth is I haven't begun to exploit all of the options the L6H has right now. I'm about the music, specifically from a recording point of view[ my company provides music score for tv/ film/ video games since '95]. I imagine I'll be finding uses for many of the existing patches/ sounds/ cabs and their dialable parameters for a bit. But increased stability and reliability ? Yes please. -
This resonated with me most. I guess it's just giving up old ways of getting familiar with new technology. I was one who actually read and poured over tech manuals, found it it reassuring. But with firmware changing so fast Rewolf48 is right, companies would be printing something which would need adjustments almost immediately.

I agree with this. Tech music gear isn't vintage guitars. Tech gear by definition is always in a state of flux, with improved versions replacing their outdated predecessors. I expect Line 6 will make upgrades periodically until the big day finally comes- HELIX 3D HD ! I've heard rumblings..

I'm right on the edge of ordering this very cab IR myself

Thanks guys, feel foolish asking but this really was helpful, since I bought my unit a week or so ago I've spent h-o-u-r-s under the hood getting more familiar.
-
I couldn't agree with you more, no manual in my unit either, instead they include a pdf on a USB. $1500 and no manual. Ouch.

Greetings, Am a new HELIX owner and have been enjoying the discovery process immensely, had a stupid question to ask that I couldn't search an answer for; what does 'IR' mean ?
