  1. I have my snapshots set this way. I have mine setup in preset/snapshot mode and my 4 snapshots are only lit if there is something there I wanna use. I typically have my lead as the far right (4th) one and then build snapshots to the left for rhythms. Lead is then closest to my wahs and such if needed for quick changing, plus I put most my weight on me left foot while playing singing. anyway... There is a setting where instead of Low/Bright where its off/??? and that should do it, but then in each snapshot you don't want a color, you have to unassign/assign the current color to 'Off'. When I created my preset templates (which I use to build my song presets off of) I did that for all snapshots and then when I need a snapshot its not defaulted to a color to be unassigned I just assign the color I want (red/orange/yellow = varying rhythm tones, green = lead tone)
  2. So I've played around with it in some various spots. First off.....damn the helix FX Loops are noisy. I thought it'd be a little hiss, its like a full tv channel off the air static.....absolutely horrible to use. Are there settings for the Loops I need to look at? I setup a noise gate after them and it grabbed it pretty well, but I feel like its choking my sustain now. Anyway my main question is there any difference in running the Freqout pre-Helix vs in a FX Loop first in the chain. I have other loops I'll be using in the chain so either way I'll still need that extra noise gate block, but didn't know if there was a tracking issue or if one was better than the other. Also, is there an issue if I run the Drop in a loop but the Freqout first in front? In my head it says no issues, but then I argue with myself.
  3. I had similar issues on the 100% end with my LT pedal. I have it auto-of at 97% and it would reach 100% but when I lift my foot it went to 95,96,92 etc....ultimately had to have it replaced. If it was consistent I could work around it, but it wasn't. No matter what I set the threshold to, it would always end up below that. Even had auto-off set to 91% and it would still fall back that far. Also check to make sure that there isn't dirt/hair/dust covering the optical sensor. I've read that can cause issues.
  4. What did you sell the pack for? I ordered a customized board of the link below. because of the height of the Helix they are making the lid slightly taller to accommodate. Because it is angled there is room under the front side to 'store' my Drop/Freqout/Talkbox/Mission Engineering 529i pedals and on the surface will sit my Helix/Mission Engineering Expression pedal/G50 Wireless. The board will come with a mic stand clip mounted to the front left side (i'm always on the left when facing the audience) and also have a power inlet/outlet installed as well as a double inlet/outlet...which will feed my external powered wedge, and a small power strip which will cover my Helix and Power supply power needs. The 529i power supply seems like it matches up great. It has 2 500mA outputs at 9v and comes with a voltage doubler cable (though it is a short cable so positioning on the board was hard to figure out), and also has a cool USB side power jack. For the price/specs I couldn't resist that one. https://pedalpad.com/shop/products-buy-now-or-learn-more#!/DEEP-ER-III-Pedal-Boards-Deeper-&-Phatter-18-front-to-back-depth/p/91106133/category=0 https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/529iPedalPwr--mission-engineering-inc-529i-usb-pedalboard-power-supply-with-integrated-battery
  5. I apologize if there is a better place for this (mods delete or move if necessary)...but with my new pedalboard inbound, I no longer need my Helix Backpack. Its still in great condition....I'd be willing to part with it for a fair deal. If interested, PM me...we can work out details. I dont sell/trade/buy a lot of stuff so I dont have a ton of references...but its a legit offer. I'm in WI if that matters.
  6. "The waiting....is the hardest part." Just ordered my custom pedalboard from pedalpad.com (should be here next week). I received my pedals last week, still have one pedal on backorder...hopefully coming in a week or so....then my live rig will be complete once I order the patch cables to hook everything up neat and tidy. On a side note, anyone tried those flat ESB patch cables...reviews seem great and they really tidy up the look of a board.
  7. Nice....I ordered all the pedals yesterday they arrived where I had them sent today. I just need to set them up on a template to find out what size I really need for a pedalboard. I'm still leaning towards the TrailerTrash Pro Series.
  8. yeah pretty much and imported my presets again. I forget which of the resets I did, its the one where it restores/erases the presets/setlists, but doesn't install the factory presets.
  9. Yeah I will only be going down 1/2 step. There are maybe 5 songs total we do that would be a whole step down. I'll have to see how bad the noise is.
  10. is it noisy in the loop and not in front?
  11. so pedals will be incoming today.....and questioning/wondering the best placement for them. I initially thought in the loop(s)….but also think the Drop would probably benefit from a clean signal in vs fx loop send from somewhere in my preset. Also, the Freqout would need to be after it in order to provide the right pitch feedback.... Do I run them series between wireless and Helix input? or in the fx loop together? Separate FX loops? Also have a talkbox coming...MXR M222 THe idea of running in the loops makes the most sense...cause then I can run the pedals on all the time, and choose which song presets include the drop/freqout effects. The drop would of course stay on the whole time in the preset, but the freqout would be controlled via snapshot for leads and such (same with talkbox).
  12. yeah tickets for sure......its an easy fix if you back your stuff up properly. it happened to me a 2nd time...and was back up and running and working again in about 10 minutes. Most of that the boot/reset time
  13. Ok, I think I found the power supply that will do it. Mission engineering https://missionengineering.com/shop-2/products/power/529i/
  14. Ok, that Cioks 7 looks pretty badass for the price/size/power options. If I reading/understanding correctly the only one I think I'll have an issue with is the talkbox having such a high mA requirement. I think my best bet board wise is to go with Trailer Trash, and that way I can get the power options routed on the side of the board as needed.... Monitor wedge - Plugged into female power plug on side of board Digitech Drop/Freqout, L6 G50 Wireless (9v, 500mA) connected to Cioks 7 connected to male power plug on side of board MXR Talkbox, Helix - separate power run connected to side male power plug on side of board Board would then be powered from an extension cable on my left side. Am I on the right thinking with this?
  15. YEP, I have amp channel volumes that range from 4.7 to 8.8. I keep my output level set to something that will make sure I'm sending out a decent but not too hot signal (Master Volume Output knob dimed setup for consistency) and then I create my presets with that output template. Once I have them created I listen through and get a temperature of the room where all of my actual channel volumes are for each preset to find if I need to slide that scale/range up or down to help at the back end. I'm more tedious and practiced in my own preset creation so once I've done my homework with core tones, i'm essentially done unless I import an effect that makes something louder or quieter, which then I find 'unity' (read: my unity level) and adjust that effects output level to return my presets volume where it was.
  16. sweet. I think that will work then....My other guitar player said I could have it....I was like, your not 'giving' it to me......which now seems to make my decision easier, lol.
  17. Ok, the G50 was one that I had been eyeing up, as my other guitar player upgraded to the 90 I believe and he still has his 50 I could get from him if I wanted. His battery compartment door is the only issue really. but that seems to be the biggest issue with those....and to replace just the wireless transmitter, id be better off buying a new one with warranty. But I may just see what he wants to dump it for then and go that route. if I need to tape it shut or something, wouldn't be the first time in my life.
  18. Ok, that helps, sorry i'm pedalboard dumb. lol. Always used rack stuff or multieffects only. I'll look into those options the Cioks sounds like it'd be the best fit, but I'll check it out. Thank you
  19. So a newb question...being that I've never been a pedal/board setup kinda guy. Will something like a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 power the 3 pedals I'm adding (Digitech Drop, Digitech Freqout, MXR Talkbox)? I know I'll need separate power for the Helix and probably the wireless unit correct?
  20. Yeah if I'd had known i'd be adding these after, that may have made sense. I could maybe look into a sell/buy scenario and go that route....I'd have to look into it though. not sure I wanna go through that hassle.
  21. That's a nice compact setup, not feasible for my situation, but I can see why it works for you
  22. Yeah I've never had any issues with my Sennheiser in this regards, but the question was raised I think when the G10s came out and its got me thinking and confused, lol
  23. One thing I read that is beyond my knowledge comprehension with wireless units...I have EMG's in my guitars, I've read some wireless plugs don't play well with those types of input jacks?
  24. Yeah with me running the sound usually our mixer setup is within 10feet easy...however, we do hardwire it to the laptop, cause my other guitar players wireless was causing an interruption between mixer/laptop. So that part shouldn't be a problem.
  25. Thanks Coda (& Talwilkins....thats a good point on the battery issue. I've never had any problems with anything ion...but your right. I do have some fantastic rechargeables I've been using in sennheiser that get me about 2 shows on a charge over a weekend....so that makes me wanna lean that way as well. I'll look into it. I appreciate the extra info and do some more research. Thanks, cheers!
