  1. So I started over. I went from beginning to end and triple checked that everything was panned hard L & R. There are several points where L & R panning need to be checked. So much for my disciplined attention to detail.
  2. I'm using the simplest setup I can imagine to test the balance. Two combos, one on "A" path the other on "B" path. each panned hard, all model settings are the same. No dice; the image is unbalance, favoring the left side. All the presets that are imaged for stereo, of which there are no "stereo rig" models that I can find, are well balanced. Any thoughts?
  3. I don't want to update to 2.9x just yet but would like to update to the most stable version available.
  4. I was looking for an easy way to quickly visualize some different configurations that integrate my new Stomp into my existing board. It's something of an HX based pedalboard nesting doll.
  5. Wouldn't a single amp and two cabs take three blocks instead of just two that a dual combo setup would utilize?
  6. Apparent;y there is a "like limit" so I'll just say thanks to everyone. I feel like I've got a good foundation to start mucking about with IRs when the time comes. I especially like the idea of being able to customize them.
  7. I used Toontrack Superior libraries for my drums and I'm curious as to any company that produces IRs at the same quality level.
  8. I guess I need to spend more time with PC editor. I've been trying to program it from the front face, not the PC editor, for the past couple of months and it is such a PITA that I've actually been considering selling it.
  9. In the real world I use two clean Laney Cub 12s miced with two Sennheiser e906s for a stereo rig and would like to replicate their sound, as close as is reasonable, on the HX Stomp.
  10. Is there anything the Adrenalinn III does that the Helix can't?
  11. I'm also incorporating the Stomp into a larger pedelboard with quiet a few analogue pedals but also includes an HX Effects; I wonder about the efficacy of the analog pedals once they've gone through either HX unit, though. Auditioning the presets is what brought me to wonder about it's target demo.
  12. It finally arrived and I picked it up at the Post Office a little earlier. Tomorrow I'll dig deeper but I did spend some time going through some presets. I wonder how many folks buy these as their only foot pedal.
  13. What if I want a stereo effect before the amps? Would I use two parallel blocks, one for each AC30, panned hard left and hard right?
  14. All I'm attempting to do is emulate a basic stereo rig within the HX Stomp and eliminate micing twp combo amps. The outputs will go to a console.
  15. Thanks for posting the patch. I don't have the stomp yet so I can't see the preset. Is this two combo amps panned L&R?
  16. Does this take up two blocks with one amp model panned hard left and the other hard right?
  17. A lot of commercial IR files are 24 bit. I'm wondering about the quality of the Helix down conversion and if it might be better to dither using dedicated 3rd party software before loading it into the Helix
  18. Just wondering what it might be like to add an HX Stomp to a pedalboard that already has an HX Effects.
  19. I want t get an idea if the HX Stomp can fit in the pedalboard position that my M5 currently occupies or if I would have to reconfigure.
  20. Just finished wiring everything in except the two Boomerangs, expression pedals, and Behringer FCB1010. I needed to call it a day and decided to close the day out with a little ditty. For the purpose of this test, a single two bar guitar loop is prerecorded into the Wally then slowed as far down as the Wally will allow from dead center. I slowly raise the loop speed up to normal and the guitar loop plays back at regular speed until the end when it's slowed back down before the fade out. The "ambiance" is nothing more than the wet side of the guitar loop, highly effected. It was recorded on a Tascam DP-008EX using it's built in mics and quite frankly I didn't go to any great lengths, none at all really , to optimize any fidelity; the low level digital clipping is quite obvious, not so low level toward the end, and the mics picked up my switching. The Tascam does much better, as do I, with a bit more effort.
  21. It won't help now but insurance would be a good idea starting now.
