  1. I was here November 2021 looking for this solution and its absolutely dumbfounding there STILL isn't a resolution. What the hell is going on with Line 6? I've been a big supporter of Line 6 but this is beyond ridiculous. There is no excuse, NONE. Guess they just dont give a rip about Logic users when they just leave us twisting in the wind.
  2. Count me in with the above complaints. I bought the G10SII for having freedom in my studio but Ive got terrible connection issues. I have a dedicated studio in a single family home with typical wifi for a family of 4. My studio is pretty isolated but not isolated enough to prevent wifi bleed into my space. My Sweetwater rep and I have a very good relationship and he said this and the G30 are "junk" and I needed the G50 or G90. Quite a big price jump to get a reliable connection. I sent this back and not sure what my next step will be, maybe try a Shure or something. I made an impulse buy so I need to check these systems out closer. Im a Line 6 fan but this product is a fail.
  3. If you’re “only” going to be using the helix for sound with the PC the above solution is quick and easy. Ultimately you’d want an audio interface especially if you’re connecting more gear like synths, drum machines, keyboards, midi devices, etc. Using Helix as a sound card would be my last choice, but a good choice if resources and gear are limited.
  4. This needs to be addressed by Line6. The new MB Pro's are audio monsters and I'm sure many music creators are looking hard at it. This thing can run 30+ tracks and dozens of plugins simultaneously so it's time for companies like Line6 to step up.
  5. Respond to this one.

Hey there, I received notification that you've shipped my guitar back. I never heard from anyone about paying the repair fee. Can you update me on the situation please?

      Thanks, Dan Cannon

Hey mate, what do you want me to say on the forums, if anything? I got my guitar back today and IT WORKS! I see they bypassed the diode as it was removed but I don’t want to say anything on the forum that might cause you some trouble or explanation.

Nobody ever called me for repair payment or return shipping payment. I can’t tell you how I appreciate you guys helping me out! That’s fantastic customer service and people need to know! The forums are littered with negative crap but it’s not unusual as most people join the forum to complain, not to praise the company

I’d love to say “thank you” to Line 6 for helping me and let everyone know how great the company/service techs are but don’t want to say anything that might mislead people. I see many who buy 2nd hand stuff and expect warranty service. I’m sure you guys noticed I bought my Variax new 18 years ago and registered it immediately. Guess that might have helped?

Anyway, please pass my thanks along to your mate on fixing my guitar and I won’t post anything until I hear from you.

Cheers! Dan Cannon AKA MrDrc (forum name)

  6. What's the best way to ship a guitar? Just take it to UPS and let them help select a box/packaging? I'd almost want to ship it in the gig bag that came with the guitar when I bought it but I know they don't want that.
  7. Thanks much Psarkissian. I received great news today! They can repair my guitar which is fabulous. I have no idea if being an original registered owner has anything to do with it but I'm thankful it can be repaired. I'll have to be super careful in the future and obviously need to make some long term retrofit plans but for now I'm happy as can be!
  8. EDIT: After reading a bit more I wonder if it's even fixable. Does it help that I purchased this gear new and registered it with Line 6 17 years ago? Ive read enough here and looked in the compartment to know my diode is toasted. I'll be calling the nearest authorized service center first thing or maybe Calabass if needed. My 700HT was made in Japan and i bought it new in 2003. it's a fine instrument and I'd put it up there with my vintage Les Paul's and Strats for build quality and playability. The VDI still works but I've lost the 1/4". After troubleshooting today and reading here I was bummed. I use it way more than I ever imagined and it's a lot more comfortable than having a Les Paul hanging off your shoulder all night. - Do they just replace the diode or replace the board? - I suppose it would be asking too much for L6 to tell us the diode specs? Seems like a simple repair I could source locally. I understand current gear being protected but this is long discontinued. - Is there any retrofit available where you swap the innards of original Variaxs to newer electronics? Ive played the new guitars and my 700 is better. Eventually these original electronics will fail and I don't want to give up this guitar. I'll figure something out when that happens even if I have to router in pickups! - The 9v connector to the battery holder is too short especially fiddling around in the dark at a gig. I never knew it was so perilous if you attempted to reverse connect the pack. Anyone done an extension of that cable? Thanks, Cheers
