Hi guys. I have a weird issue after the current update where some factory presets don't output audio. Not the 4CM preset issue. I'm running headphones right now. Also the bass cab blocks block audio from passing further down the chain. Bummer because I play bass. The legacy cabs work. Very weird.
This is after updating to 3.6 which gave me an error. Presumably because I had the Stomp connected to my MacBook via a hub because I don't have USB-A. Anyways after restarting it showed 3.6 installed on the Stomp. After discovering the issues I have done 2 factory resets to no avail.
I'm currently splitting my bass signal with a crossover after a poly capo and have a Vermin distortion on the signal above 240Hz. Love the flavor! I got a Sansamp after it which tames it quite a bit before joining the low end and going into the cab block. I still would like to put a tilt eq after the Sansamp to darken the sound a bit more. That's before joining the low end so I'm not losing any of that. I'm wondering where to put the center frequency as I'm new to eq. For that I'm guessing I need to know where the rat's mid bump is exactly. Hope you guys know more.
Tone I'm going for is Jo Bench of Bolt Thrower.
I feel like the rat is the right direction. Her tone is very grindy with plenty clean low end but not overly harsh as many modern metal tones are.
PS: Of course I have a high cut going at 4k but I still feel like I need to tame it some more. The overly harsh part is below that.
That's exactly it tho. You cannot simply save a block that way. And I was wondering why it doesn't seem to do what I want it to do. In this case remove nasty distorted top end that wouldn't disappear no matter how low I went with the cut. I had no DSP left on my Stomp.
I thought this would do what a dedicated low/high cut block would do saving you one at the end of your chain. But somehow it's more complicated. Can someone enlighten me?
Has this been resolved? Error from today on fresh HX Edit install. "a driver couldn't be loaded on this device" (HX Stomp, Win 11 x64 up to date). "more information" leads to a how-to disable core isolation.
I really wanna try this. Usually a LA Studio Comp gets used but I don't have the DSP left for that. I can only do the 3-Band Comp or the Deluxe. The context is distorted metal bass. Placed after IR last in chain. Can those 2 do the same as the LA Studio Comp in this context and what settings should I try? I'm no pro with regards to compression or recording and copied the settings for the Deluxe that I'm running on top of the low end portion of my signal from the internet.
My board is simple yet it includes a pitch shifter (Digitech Drop) which I need to tune down 1-6 half steps regularly. I heard this eats DSP and it's questionable whether the unit can handle it. The chain is: tuner --> pitch shift --> Ampeg opto comp --> distortion --> Ampeg preamp --> Mooer Radard with custom IRs. Can the Stomp handle that?
