  1. I don't have any specific presets, but in case you aren't aware there are Acoustic IRs you can get that work the same way Cabinet IRs work. You can load those up in one (or more!) Helix IR block. For acoustic effects I usually use a compressor, chorus, delay, and reverb. I don't have your exact guitar but I do have a Godin XTSA and I can get a really good acoustic sound out of it.
  2. I'm a Tonex convert also. Went from a helix floor, to helix floor with Tonex in the loop, to a Tonex and a TC Electronics X5. I loved my helix but the Tonex with a good capture is just *chef's kiss*
  3. If you figure out a way to do that you could get a very popular YouTube video out of it I bet :)
  4. The downvote is just in jest...I'll remove it if it has any significance or bothers you, no offense intended of course :) But dude...you quoted me with a HUH? like I had no clue what I was talking about, then said the exact same thing I did just in more words. I literally told them to use multiple amp blocks. I'm not offended or anything, just poking fun.
  5. That's exactly what I said... /shrug
  6. You cannot have different amps, or reverbs, or anything, in different snapshots. A preset has certain blocks, and snapshots can only change the on/off setting for those blocks or parameters within those blocks. I'm not sure what you were doing before (presets maybe?) but you didn't have 6 different amps in snapshots on the same preset. What you can do, and keep in mind this will take a lot of DSP, is have multiple amp blocks in the preset and use snapshots to turn them on/off. I made a preset like this once that had all 3 channels of the SLO, just for fun. But it really takes so much DSP it's not worth it, IMHO.
  7. Do you happen to be playing barefoot or in thin socks? I have that happen due to the capacitive touch on the buttons. Super random, but if that's what it is you can turn that off in the global settings.
  8. Call it cheating, but since my band uses backing tracks I just record the harmonies and leave out the whole mess :)
  9. I would have never thought to do that, that's genius.

    My first Big Helix

Gain levels will of course vary by guitar. I still feel like I've had two "faulty" helixes with super-padded inputs. When I play this preset at gig volume with my strat-copy (with a HB in the bridge), with the minotaur dimed, it's still just barely enough gain for me. And that's for classic rock songs, not metal.

Is it just single-coil noise? Do you have the "clean" snapshot selected (meaning the hum may be gain from one of the OD pedals)? If you make a new preset and just use one block with the litigator do you get the same hum?

No I sure don't. Hmmm....you can try selecting a different amp and then going back to the Litigator to reset it to the defaults.

    My first Big Helix

I got you dude. I'll go grab my helix over lunch and copy my preset. It's so far the best single preset I've come up with for covering pretty much any genre other than metal. We play some Metallica, but that's as heavy as we get. Cover Band.hlx
  14. If you don't think that sounds good I think something is wrong with your monitors. That sounds exactly like I would expect (amazing) and I would 100% gig with that as my foundation. That may not be the exact gain level you are looking for, but your original issue was that you were having trouble dialing in a decent tone....well, ya did it :)
  15. Okay cool, you should definitely be able to get a good sound through monitors. So, make a new empty patch, go to the input section and turn OFF gate and pad. If you need them you can revisit later. Then go over to an empty block, select a mono amp/cab, I suggest WhoWatt or Litigator. Make sure you did amp AND cab. Then add a mono reverb block, any of the dynamics will do, I prefer room or plate myself. That should sound great right there.
  16. I think we need a little more information here. What do you have going in to the stomp, and what do you have after the stomp? What are using to hear the output? Whenever I hear someone say they just can't dial in a good tone that is a huge red flag that either something about their setup, or a setting in the unit itself, is off. I can make a new empty patch, select any default amp/cab block, add a reverb, and it sounds amazing with any guitar. Is it instantly the exact tone I want? Of course not, but the point is it still sounds great just doing that.
  17. I love how people keep responding and trying to be helpful but the OP can't be bothered to come back and chime in on their own post.
  18. I have two solar generators. A small one that will power the helix only for around 8 hours. And a larger one that will power the helix, a mixer, a laptop, a couple large PA speakers, and probably a lot more for like 36 hours supposedly.
  19. I think you need to look through the manual for the B-Beat. I looked at their site and it does mention sending midi events to connected devices, but doesn't go into any specifics. I do not see any midi ports on the device, and it looks like the usb port is only for connecting a usb drive, not for midi-over-usb.
  20. I don't think anyone but you can answer if it's worth it or not. Would you use the extra features? Then yes, it's worth it! I started with a Pod Go and loved the tone, but quickly found myself wanting more dsp, blocks, and snapshots. I upgraded to a floor and it was absolutely worth it, can't imagine life without it now :)

    Input Distortion

Guitar Pad on Global means it could be off? Change that to on and try it.
  22. I do need to spend more time dialing in the helix going straight into the fx return. I like this little amp so much I've just been plugging my guitar straight into it lately to noodle around :)
  23. I use the strobe mode and it works perfectly well. I hate to be that guy, but this has to be user error. I do have a helix floor, so maybe if you have a stomp it's different? I doubt it, but trying to give you the benefit of the doubt here.
  24. Further research indicates that "Restore Factory Settings" only restores the settings in that specific dialog. I cannot seem to find how to get back to the section that I am remembering. It's possible I'm confusing helix native and hx edit I suppose. Sorry, I know I'm not being very helpful. I was so sure that was the solution! Drat!
