That's what i use for contact cleaner

Joking of course, but i find it amusing that my LT regularly makes mechanical noises, whether it's on or off, and when not in use. I'd liken them to settling cracks that you hear inside some houses...which is probably kind of what i'm hearing the equivalent of on my LT. Metal clicking noises, basically. This is nothing that keeps me up at night as its performance has been solid for a few years now, but i am curious if anyone else has encountered this. If not, i'll look into an exorcism. ;)

i'm confused- you encourage him to make it his daily driver, and then to expect hardware issues? unless you mean make it his daily driver before doing gigs w/it.

to be clear, i couldn't care less. but it's sure fun to poke the hive...not that this thread will gain any real traffic volume

They've lowered their prices? Hmmm...maybe it's truly time to start speculating about an imminent successor on the horizon? Or maybe it was just a marketing decision given the age of the Helix in the current increasingly congested modeling market?

thanks, that's what i was thinking of doing but was afraid to hit the button out of fear that it was going overwrite something. I didn't know at the time that it'd create a folder on my computer. worked perfectly, thanks

I've got a few presets that randomly got buggy on my LT. i recently did a complete backup of everything, but i don't want to do a complete restore from that backup as i have done some refinements on my current presets that i don't want to overwrite (if i were to do a complete restore). Is there a way that i can just import the specific presets that i need that are stored in my last backup to replace the buggy ones that are on my LT? first time having to do this and i don't want to mess things up.

i tried this but when i set the mix parameter to 0, it changes is to 0 for all four of my snapshots. so at that point i set the mix back to 100 on the snapshot that needs it at 100, but then all the other 3 snapshots follow suit. am i missing something? glitch?

so you're saying to have the wah "always on" on the snapshot i use for the solo...which is fine, because the wah is used for the whole solo, and then have it "always off" on all the other snapshots? If so, that sounds like it could be the fix. i'll try it out when i get home, thanks.

Is there any other option? I HATE the the toe switch on these things. I need to practically put my foot through the unit to engage/disengage it. On my previous LT i removed the rubber feet under the exp pedal, cut their thickness down, and then put them back on, but i don't feel like dealing with that again because each rubber foot needs to be the same thickness...which can be tricky cutting rubber w/a razor blade. a bit of a PITA. If i have to, i have to, but if i can avoid it...

i have a song that uses a wah for the solo on snapshot #4. The solo ends w/the wah in the toe-down position, then I go straight to snapshot #1. the problem with this is that when i go to snapshot #1, the wah is still on (because i have the wah set up to turn on/off a hair past full heel-down via the expression pedal). how can i set it up so that when i go to the new snapshot, the wah is OFF, regardless of where my foot physically left the expression pedal on the previous snapshot? This is easy enough with other effects blocks by simply saving the snapshot w/a given effect in whatever state, active or bypassed, but it appears the expression pedal assignment on the wah block is overriding the ability to do so. What's the fix i'm overlooking?

the original manual has a color-coded master list of all amps, effects, etc is there a new version of this anywhere that is current up to 3.7?

Finally got around to this the other day. Perfect, performs just like the Ricochet. Thanks! Right now i'm just using my LT as an effects-only pedal board w/my amp, so no concerns with cpu hogging fortunately.

OMG mime is more than money, its a life suck. Can you tell I'm not a fan :) find me a good solution and i'll do the dead bird
-
I want to lube the pedal mechanism to fix this. What lube(s) yield good results in the long term? I'd prefer not having to repeat the process too frequently. "Mime is money"

Jeez...Frank Zappa sure left out a lot of details. Made me think it was a fictional place/planet. Color me informed.

thanks for the newsflash ;), but i own one. but i can't justify it taking up a space on my sub-board. Between the LT's expression pedal's uneven tension/resistance throughout its travel, and my foot not being robotic, there's no way i can get a perfectly even rise/fall like the Ricochet does. It'd just be for one song so i'll just do something else until Helix 2 drops next month.

Those things are SO overrated. I hope it doesn't have a touch screen but it likely will, due to all the market pressure/trends

If set for Momentary, can a Helix footswitch be programmed, when used with one of the Pitch effects, to automatically bend a note up or down by a predetermined interval as well as controlling how long it takes to reach the desired pitch (as I keep the switch depressed), and then return to the original note (when the switch is released), like the Digitech Ricochet? You may say “just use the expression pedal”. Fair enough but my foot isn’t steady enough to do it perfectly even like the Ricochet does.

Just curious- what made you part way w/your Rockerverbs? 10 years ago, a MKii 50W was my main gigging amp for about 3 years. No real complaints other than the Reverb going from 0-100 by barely moving its knob.

Okay, stupid question of the day. I'm sure this is do-able, but i just want to be 100% sure as i've never had to do something like this. I have Helix Native on my studio computer. I'm going to be doing a project over the next few weeks at my friend's studio. He runs motu on a mac. Is there any reason why i can't give up the rights to Native on my computer, and sign them over to his, and then back to mine once the project is done?

Is anyone using their Helix to change channels on their Orange amps? I’m considering getting either their Super Crush 100 or the Crush Pro 120, and I’d hate to lose the ability to change channels due to, from the manual: “IMPORTANT! Connect EXT AMP 1/2 only to amplifiers that utilize “short-to-sleeve” footswitch inputs. Connecting to any other sort of input could cause permanent damage to both your amp and Helix LT! If you’re not sure if your amp has short-to-sleeve inputs, contact the manufacturer.” I’ve reached out to Orange but thought I might get an answer quicker here.

OP here. with TONS of due respect to Mr. Craig, both my Quilter K12 and Friedman ASM sat on the floor and still didn't have the "it" factor of an actual amp...and that's certainly not to say Craig's claims are incorrect. They're totally on point, but sound works in mysterious ways i guess. FWIW, my preferences have changed. I found i got even better results, in terms of achieving "amp in a room" realism by bypassing the speaker modeling of the Helix and going into the effects return of one of my Bad Cats. This has been a constant for me for about 4 years now...which says a lot if you knew me. When it comes to the technicalities of "why" this is, i can't say...nor do i care, because I'm getting my best modeling tones since modeling emerged back when i got the very first generation of POD...or, if you want to split hairs, back when Sansamp came out almost 35 years ago.

thanks, will give it a try. was already using the 2204 block.
