My non-legal and non-Line 6 opinion is that it’s OK as long as it does not contain proprietary information. If you did not rely on any information you obtained from Line 6 during its development I think you’re OK on that front. Even if Claude scrapes proprietary information during its operations you would personally be safe. Join the rest of the world and blame Claude for illegally using proprietary info! Also, others have historically done something similar and have made their work publicly available. I don’t think any of them are in jail (at least not yet ;-) ). The only concern might be if you want to promote it to users on this forum (as I am sure you do) and remain compliant with the Terms of Use of this forum. If you plan to offer it for free you can announce its availability in the AMPLIFi subforum where you have posted this thread. If you plan to charge for it you should announce it in the Promote Your Patches subforum. And if you want to announce it before the oceans boil ask for forgiveness not permission.

Good! You might want to submit a support ticket to clarify what the expected behaviour of the Split Y block is when deactivated. You may have identified a bug. If you do submit a ticket please report back. I'd be interested in seeing the response.

Helix LT supports the concept of Setlists. You can create up to 8 Setlists, each containing up to 128 presets in Banks 1-32 and Preset locations/slots A through D. You can fill those preset locations in any order you want, and fill them by creating new presets or by copying existing presets including Factory presets. Check the Setlists and Snapshots sections of the manual. Come back with specific questions as you do the following: The idea is that you can prepare your device for a gig in advance by creating a Setlist for the gig. Name the Setlist whatever you want (e.g. Pub Saturday). Begin populating your setlist with presets, starting with creating/copying the preset you want to use for your opening song in Preset 1A. If you want to change your tone for various parts of the song, say for the Intro part vs. the Verse part vs. the Lead part, you use Snapshots to create those different tonal parts within the same preset. As you switch snapshots for the various parts of the song there is no audio dropout. When satisfied that your first song is as you want it, move on to your second song using Preset 1B. During the gig there will be a brief audio dropout as you switch presets. That’s why you make the switch between songs, so nobody notices. Again use Snapshots as desired. Then move on the Preset 1C for your third song, and so on for all songs in your set. And don’t forget to include your encore song(s) at the end, after the standing ovation! Prepare your device in advance for the entire gig, arranging your presets in the order in which you plan to play the songs to make the tap dancing of preset switching as simple and as least distracting as possible during the gig. While your device will only hold 8 Setlists at a time you can store as many different Setlists (and Presets) as you want on your computer using HX Edit and swap them in/out as desired.

How would it be any better for your needs? HX FX = HX Stadium FX, except for the small number of new FX introduced in Stadium. All other FX in Stadium are exactly the same DSP as those in HX FX. Exactly the same modelling technology. Stadium introduces Agoura amps, Showcase, Clones, and who knows what else later on. But none of those would be expected in a Stadium FX device. What exactly would you expect to see in the Stadium FX that is consistent with the concept of the HX FX device vis-a-vis its parent Helix device, and is not already in the HX FX device?

It’s not recommended to run both VDI and 1/4” (batteries) simultaneously. The double power supply can cause internal circuit damage.

Make sure the connection is OK. Visually inspect the VDI connector jacks on both Helix and the Variax. Look for bent pins. If you see any fashion a J-hook out of a thin twist wire and try to gently realign the pins. If all looks OK, open a support ticket.

Sounds like a hardware issue, perhaps a loose internal ribbon connector. Open a support ticket.

I don't really know, but the sole purpose of a Split Y block (the default type) is to route more or less of the signal to each path. It's not clear to me that disabling it should route 100% to Path A and 0% to Path B as you expect. Why wouldn't it make the opposite decision and route 0% to Path A and 100% to Path B? Or block the signal to both Paths rather than just one, meaning no signal gets through at all? Perhaps disabling it simply means that each Balance parameter is assigned to Center, meaning a 50/50 split. If you disable the block that is meant to split the signal unevenly maybe it just splits it evenly.

What type of Split block is it? Experiment with the various types to see if you can get what you want.

Check out the Utility Flag option. The Tuner flag provides some control you might find useful.

Thanks. So I’m not going crazy…. at least not yet …. just a little slow on the uptake ;-) I haven’t used IRs since the OG Helix new Cab engine was released so I missed that change.

Check the Tuner Input selection(s) in the Tuner parameters. Make sure Mic is excluded.

Sorry for my misinformation. I have a recollection that appears to be false. I may have been thinking of the behaviour of Clones rather than IRs.

As long as your Helix device has a VDI connection (Floor, LT, and Rack models) and you are using a VDI cable then yes, it should work fine on computers (Win/Mac) that have not outpaced Line 6 support. The last post in this thread was more than 3.5 years ago. No product is supported forever. The Variax product line reached EOL years ago and is no longer being manufactured. I don’t know if Workbench HD has remained compatible with new OSs. If it’s not working for you open a support ticket to find out why.

I imagine you do this as you would any Snapshot parameter value. Assign the parameter to the Snapshot controller and then adjust the values as desired in each associated snapshot.

Just checking ... are you using Workbench HD? That's the version compatible with the JTV series. Also, make sure you have a fully charged battery and a 1/4" cable plugged into the Variax. That's the 'On' switch.
