It’s been a while since I’ve used Helix or HX Edit, bit it occurs to me that the set of IRs that are loaded into HX Edit at startup are the ones that are contained in a specific IR folder on your computer, along with the preset and setlist files contained in sibling folders. Perhaps you can use that specific folder, not HX Edit, to see the full filenames and edit/delete accordingly? Presumably the next time HX Edit is launched your set of loaded IRs will be as you wish.

I’m not sure but perhaps there’s a global setting that will help?

I doubt that you’re doing anything incorrectly. It’s likely a glitch that nobody has ever seen before. I can’t imagine going through 50 pages of Customtone preset listings and wishing I could see 950 more. If you want to pursue this you can open a support ticket.

You can’t do that without Workbench HD. But I’m confused. Without a Variax battery how are you powering your Variax guitar? Do you have another Line 6 device with a VDI interface? If so, that device may (but also may not) support a connection to Workbench HD.

1. Yes 2. I think your computer is Windows since you mention PC, but if you are on Mac I think GarageBand is probably simplest. On PC I use the free version of Sonar which is not simple for a beginner (none are) but I find it easier to use than Reaper.

Can’t say without knowing what you are doing. Please describe how you are trying to access the Factory setlist, then compare it to the instructions in the manual. Let us know where the instructions are breaking down for you.

Does this happen with all presets or just specific one(s)? If the latter please attach one of the presets.

From the manual: In the Snapshot Panel, click one of the 8 snapshots to select a different snapshot. If you select a snapshot that hasn’t yet been configured, it appears the same as the snapshot you came from. As soon as you edit a new snapshot (say, by enabling or bypassing an amp or effect block), the snapshot becomes “active” and remembers any block’s bypass state and snapshot-assigned parameter values. Is this possibly the issue? Try copying and pasting a Snapshot.

Please describe exactly what you are doing when trying to change Snapshots, and compare that to the instructions in the manual. Let us know at what point the instructions are breaking down for you.

I recall that being an issue with the XLR Outputs on OG Helix. In fact there is this statement in the manual: IMPORTANT! Never connect Helix’s XLR outputs to a device whose XLR inputs have 48V phantom power enabled! That statement does not exist in the Stadium manual so take what you want from that. I don’t recall it being an issue with the Mic preamp in OG Helix but apparently you experienced it. I have not heard of any such issues with Helix Stadium. Not conclusive, I know, because the fact that something hasn’t seemed to happen yet doesn’t mean it won’t happen tomorrow. I guess the only conclusive answer would be “Yes it’s a problem” when/if someone reports it. Meantime survey says No problem.

So what happens if you do adjust the parameter?

That would be because Stadium Native does not have the concept of ‘banks’ of presets. It uses a designated USER preset folder on your computer. There is also a set of Factory presets but these cannot be overwritten or Saved. They can only be Saved As a User preset. All presets you Save or Save As are stored only as files in the USER preset folder. Only one preset at a time exists in an instance of Stadium Native; you select which one by loading/opening a file from the Factory or User folder. I suggest you read the Presets section of the manual.

The Tuner ‘listens’ only to the physical input(s) to which it assigned using the Tuner Input parameter. Make sure the Input parameter matches the physical input you are using.

Your FBV shortboard mkii does not support MIDI so I don’t think it is helpful for your purpose. Your HX Stomp does, and is. I’ll start by providing an overview of the required setup with some basic steps and references to get you started. Come back with more detailed questions. If you are unfamiliar with MIDI I suggest you begin by doing some basic research to understand what it is. Overview: You need to use the HX Stomp’s ability to send MIDI commands over USB. You also need to configure Helix Stadium Native to receive MIDI commands. You may need to configure Ableton (I am not familiar with it) to recognize the Stomp as a MIDI Send device, and Native as a MIDI Receive “device”. You don’t mention what audio interface device you are using. I suggest you use the HX Stomp. HX Stomp setup: Connect it to your computer via USB. If it’s not already installed, download and install the ASIO driver for the Stomp (see Downloads link at the top of this page). Read the Global Settings section of the Stomp manual, particularly the MIDI/Tempo part. Set USB MIDI ON, and also set Snapshot CC Send ON. You will need to create HX Stomp presets and footswitch MIDI assignments to match your Stadium Native presets in terms of MIDI CC values to send when you press the Stomp footswitches. Stadium Native: Read the online manual section dealing with MIDI Control. Ableton setup if necessary: I can’t really help you here. Hope this helps. It can be a real learning curve that may take time.

I'm still confident that there's a third option: It's been delayed much longer than anticipated but it has not been scrapped. I don't believe they are now planning to leave Variax users stranded and just don't want to tell us.

This is what I found in the manual, similar to the earlier discussion here: Important! Be sure to reduce the volume of Stadium’s output(s) before entering the Preset Clip view, and gradually increase the volume as needed. That suggests to me that there is no Clip-specific internal Stadium level control.

The Helix Stadium Native manual contains this statement: Helix Stadium Native responds to traditional MIDI CC messages from an external MIDI controller device (or MIDI software) to provide remote control of its parameters and snapshots. That implies to me that MIDI PC or Bank Change commands are not supported.

The Products page shows the G10S and a G10TII as available to order, but no GIOS ii.

Line 6 has not released any information about this. Anything you may hear until they do is speculative and unofficial.

Well, here’s the second paragraph of the manual’s Simple Setup section: “Caution - It might get loud! Always turn the Volume for the respective output(s) counterclockwise to minimum before making connections to external gear and headphones to avoid encountering loud bursts of audio . Exposure to high volume levels can potentially cause hearing damage or harm to your equipment.” Also I believe the powered monitors would have their own volume controls. You can adjust those instead of the Stadium device if you prefer. The Stadium default level settings can’t predict what the external gear is, or what it’s settings are.

Yes, I have been a strong proponent of Variax guitars and I still use the two I have regularly. I still think they are great guitars and I regret that development was shut down by Yamaha when they bought Line 6 (just my observation and opinion that Yamaha was the reason - not necessarily factual). I too am looking forward to the arrival of the promised D10 device and I too am frustrated by its delayed introduction, so I understand your frustration. I was just responding to your characterization of something no longer existing when it hasn’t yet existed - i.e. Helix Stadium supporting Variax.
