  1. He's probably micing for the purposes of the video, not in order to get his live sound.
  2. You bet! The videos will be coming soon.
  3. That set I believe are called Skull Candy. They're pretty decent.
  4. As soon as I get everything in my new music room set up, I will put those presets on the custom tone website.
  5. That was the only reason why I kept it. :-P I love that little green light. lol jk.
  6. That's my experience too. Unless someone sits down with an HD500x and starts playing around, the 20% will just be laughed at. If you actually play with it, you notice that 20% is amazing.
  7. I'm in the process of moving into my house right now. I had an apartment for all my previous videos. The L3t video is coming soon. I am also changing careers by starting a new job on monday. Life is really changing for me this summer. But as soon as everything settles down a little, I am going to work hard on many L3t videos, as well as "Dream Rig" videos with it. Thanks for watching! Comparing iPhones with Line6 products is always going to fall apart, but I tend to do it too. The issue really is that if you wanted something like Siri then the 4S was exciting for you. If you bought the 4 a month before the 4S, then you were angry and annoyed. Thats basically how I see the 500X. If you wanted better switches, brighter lights, more DSP, and you owned the HD500 for a while, then the 500x is exciting. Not so much if you got the HD500 within a year before now. Again, you didn't just get Siri: you got a whole bunch of stuff that, if used (and you would use them if you got the 4S), you would be excited about. Like a better camera and faster processor, etc. Also, if that 4S never came out, you wouldn't have got that 4 for cheaper. Same thing for the HD500x. I guess it has a lot to do with perspective. For me, I just got my first iPhone (5) last year. So I am okay with not getting this new one when it comes out this fall. But I've had the HD500 for years and I am actually wanting these upgrades, even though they seem small to most people. And for people that are confused, watch the video again. It's more than the ability to add another distortion pedal.
  8. I agree about the footswitches. After actually using the HD500X for worship band practice today, I can say confidently that I would've updated just for the footswitches. But the DSP increase gives me just enough to do some strange things I always wanted to do, or just the capability of doing crazy things. Thanks for watching BTW!
  9. Don;t know if you saw this yet, but I made this video comparing the 2 pedals. Go to this thread for the link ---> http://line6.com/support/topic/1563-hd500-vs-hd500x-comparison-video/
  10. I still don't understand why people keep comparing the HD500(X) to products that are at least 4 to 5 times more expensive. The AxeFXII and Kemper are probably awesome, but they should be for the price tag assosiated with them. In my mind it's like comparing a Mac Pro with an iPad. Both amazing products but definitely on different levels, and rightfully so due to cost. Depends on the Dual Amps or just using a single amp. If you only use a single amp, you can push the FXs really far with the HD500X, at least until you run out of FX blocks. Thanks. Both are really awesome pedals. Honestly I rarely ever use Dual Amps and you are 100% right, when you use a lot of FXs to make it sound out of this world, there is really no precise amp characteristics being heard at least not enough to hear all the minute details in BOTH amps. With having more power with the 500x, I am going to be having a lot more fun with dual amps and heavy FX patches. Thanks for watching!
  11. I'm not trying to convince anyoneto buy the HD500X. I just wanted to help others see the differences in power and what not between the HD500 and HD500X. If they don't need the extra stuff, they can get a cheaper, discontinued model. My POD HD500 did everything I needed it to, and now with the HD500X, it does it even better.
  12. Thanks! I love the last one too.
  13. Well guys, I just uploaded the video. Hopefully this will answer some questions of how the two units compare when trying to build patches. Please share the video if you can!
  14. This is 50% of the reason why I wanted to get the 500x. I want to make sure I get all the juicy updates. It would really tick me off to not be able to get the newest amps and/or effects. 25% of the reason for getting it is because I love the new switches and lights [pretty lights :-)], and the other 25% would be having more power to make interesting sounds.
  15. Hey guys I just wanted to let you know that I am making an HD500x vs. HD500 video tomorrow. What all would you like me to try to compare with the two? I just thought I'd throw the notice your way just in case you wondered something specific. I will probably only have the HD500 until Saturday so now is your time for suggesting comparison ideas. Thanks guys. I will probably record it around 1 PM EST so please get in your suggestions before then. Thanks!
  16. HAHA not gonna happen. Good idea though. Like I've said, I've gotten a lot out of my HD500. I got it the month it came out. That's another reason why I feel good about getting the HD500x. If I bought an HD500 a year ago or closer, I probably wouldn't upgrade. I LOVE THE FOOTSWITCHES THOUGH so maybe I would've still upgraded. ;-) I had a little change of plans today but hopefully I will still get to some comparison videos before I sell the HD500. Thanks for watching the video guys!
  17. I used to have a BOSS GT-6, then GT-8, then went to individual pedals with boutique amps (Fender 4x10 Deville then Budda Superdrive 30 halfstack), then kept the tube amp and got an M13 (loved it), then when the HD500 first came out I was geeked - all the effects of the M13 but now with AMP MODELING as well!!! I play out mainly for my church and I hated lugging around my halfstack for church - not to mention how practically impossible it is for church sound guys to control my Budda halfstack volume. So I went with the HD500 and I've been super pleased ever since. So pleased that I'll take any improvement that they make to it - hence why I bought the HD500X. Also, just to hopefully safeguard myself from future firmware updates that might not work with the HD500.
  18. I just bought the HD500x today and havent played it yet. If it's not even that much more power, I still find it a decent upgrade for me personally, even though I am upgrading from the HD500. I love the switches, and the brighter wording next to switches. I love my HD500 so I'll take any little upgrade to it.
  19. Here is a pic of the 500 and 500x next to each other.
  20. I just got my HD500x today and did an unboxing video for it. Check it out here!
  21. Have you been playing them?! Timeframe? Help us!!!!! lol
  22. I may just be slow, but could you explain "amp channel-switching within one patch"? Thanks
  23. I work for guitar center (for another week or so. I got a different job and I'm going to miss my employee discount!!!). You have 30 days to return the item. If you got the Pro Coverage, you have 60 days to return it. I'd return it and get the HD500X.
  24. Yeah I am right there with you guys. Don't even let a word get out about an update if you don't have it out within a quarter of the year from the first word about it. I'm annoyed a little with the release of the HD500X but I think the additions they have for it are welcomed. Enough for me to sell my HD500 now and get the X. I hate the footswitches on the HD500 and always have. Maybe the release of the HD500X took all the attention away from the JTV update. No excuse but it would make sense. If anyone hears anything, hit me up asap!
  25. Oh you bet I will be blowing up youtube with comparison videos!!!
