AlexKenivel
I finally got ahold of some good monitoring headphones to try out with my unit but only the left side is playing. Am eye missing something here?
pianoguyy
make sure that the plug has 2 rings on it. make sure it is plugged in all the way. and make sure your patch isn't a one sided patch.
AlexKenivel
The cans are Audio-Technica ATH M30xs and both sides work fine with other devices. I checked on some other speakers i have and some earbuds that I have, and plugged them into an adapter with the two rings on it (the M30xs came with one as well) to no avail. Happens with all patches, preset and user made
pianoguyy
Then I am lollipop out of ideas. Because you already said what was going to be 'round two' of suggestions: make sure the headphones work on a different unit. make sure sure other headphones work on the 500. AlexKenivel
Wow.. My 500x isn't even that old! I've even rtfm this morning and no info about this..
duncann
Unlikely, but sometimes jacks like this can just wear out, or plain break. Who knows why? I've had to replace the jack on my JEM 7V (they use stereo jacks on these by the way) before a year passed. While it's easy to replace a jack on a guitar, maybe this is not so easy on an HD500X. cruisinon2
Unlikely, but sometimes jacks like this can just wear out, or plain break. Who knows why? Cause they don't build 'em like they used to...cheap imported components. It's universal now.
pfsmith0
Wait, I thought "no avail" means he also gets mono with the ear buds. If so, then perhaps it's just a mixer setting. Center both signal paths and see what happens. Do you get signals coming out of both XLR outputs? If so, then the POD is sending stereo and if you don't hear it in the headphones then, yes, it may be a bad socket.
AlexKenivel
Well I've only used the Pods headphone jack a handful of times and messing with the mixer doesn't help. I never run stereo and eye center both paths. I've tried plugging the headphones into each of the 1/4" Jacks as well, and eye either get left or right (which is correct). I really hope I'm either overlooking something or someone can figure it out..
