lawrence_Arps
its been said so many times...but once more to balance the discussion. I play in a three piece and use multiple patches per song. Ive never had a problem with the patch change time or spillover . Its never raised a comment from other band members or audience. On recordings of the gigs I cant hear any drop out. The music encompasses clean, dirty and some very radical fx patches...timed delays or synth FX. No problem. The most complex song uses 4 patches and a couple of individual FX switches (I use the 4 patch, 4 stomp mode). Sure if I was doing some weird ambient stuff I could imagine spillover being an issue but even then I think I could work within a patch. No disrespect meant but I simply cant imagine this ever being an issue. Even a worst case scenario would see a Helix patch change faster than the time it would take to press two different pedals on a pedal board. gunpointmetal
If you can't hear it, that means its either not there, or you just can't hear it. When I switch from a clean to a distortion (using "recording" patches that utilize the device to pretty close to its maximum potential per patch) it is SUPER noticeable. If it happened during a show, it would probably throw the drummer off for a beat because he would think I f-ed up...... Or somehow a bunch of us got slightly defective Helices and you didn't? How would you accomplish that with a conventional pedalboard?
spikey
Are we "STILL" beating this dead horsey? Is it ALPO yet? If a drummer misses a beat because you messed up, id fire both of ya. OK All jokes aside- Line 6 has to KNOW about the delay by now, after 124 posts. So my thought is to give them time to deal with it, or answer why they can't deal with it.... Can we at least agree that repeating there is a delay over and over won't speed up anything at this point even if others state nothing can be done, or its not a big deal? Let Line 6 handle it, do their magic, and I bet they will if they can. ;)

A user might sometimes surprise us by finding the occasional bug we weren't privy to, but it's rare. Outside of model requests for an obscure amp or pedal, I think there might be one or two viable feature requests in IdeaScale that weren't already in our Wish List before Helix was announced. If you guys notice it, believe me, we noticed it first.
gunpointmetal
I don't remember buying the newest Line 6 Conventional Pedalboard.
bashfuldwarf
LOL, I guess mentioning the long (I would say a second or maybe even two!) volume swell you get when you change patches that have the compression block activated will stir up whole new hornet's nest. I have been dealing with latency since the 90s and I don't think that I could play without it anymore. I guess I should add that the long volume swell I get is when I'm switching patches with midi and also using midi to switch channels on my Engl E570 preamp. Took me a little bit to figure out the problem by process of elimination. Any chance Line6 has heard about this issue yet? I just love the compression with distortion effect on the Helix as well as many others (The Wah is awesome!) and for now I'm just dedicating one distortion patch with the compression block bypassed whenever I need to go from clean / crunch to my lead distortions. It would be really cool if I could do this with the compression on. Probably not enough complaints for Line 6 to spend a bunch of time addressing this issue on the next firmware update huh? Any hoo, just thought I would mention it. I friggin' absolutely love the Helix by the way.
