The Good News About Updates....

I just checked the jobs listing at Line6 and it looks like they have recent job postings for a DSP/Embedded systems engineer, a Software Engineer, and Project Manager.  Derive what you will from this, but to me it speaks of maybe a bit better turnaround time on updates in the future.

Well...we can hope anyway. ;)

Man, I still don't have enough time to learn to use what we've already got.  The update frequency has been just fine for me.  While I appreciate new functionality, updating is also a bit of a distraction.

Plus, whose to say those employees will be tasked to Helix?

Or everyone just got fired and they need replacements. :P

I am of two minds about updates. While I've posted about 26 ideas on Ideascale in hopes of seeing them in a future update, I agree with your sentiment about updates. I'd love to see more interface improvements that help us edit and use our patches better. While I love the idea of more effects and amps and as a guy who proposed quite a few recently, to be honest I don't actually know what I would do with them. I just don't have enough time to experiment with them nor do I have enough playing situations where they would be appropriate. I guess I've got my core sounds dialed in and am a little burned out on tweaking patches. Even the things I know that could be improved seem like small potatoes because overall, the Helix just sounds so dang good. Just me.

P.S. Don't stop on my account, Line6.

(He's on honeymoon at the moment...

whether that's "on the lam" is up to your own interpretation)

Congratulations to DI and Mrs. Igloo.

DI (if you can read this from Fiji), your presence makes this board a delightful place.

Thank you.

So does that mean that when he gets back he'll be fully trained and respond to all our questions and demands with either "yes, honey" or "no, honey"????
