USB power on Helix

I could have sworn I saw a post in "the thread" from DI that said you could send midi over USB...I could be wrong...

Would that only be for use in DAWs on a PC if it is restricted as such? (I'm pretty much a midi newbie)

(As I imagine controlling a light show with the Helix...)

Edit: Ha! Just saw the other thread on controlling DMX lighting with the Helix :)

Helix does support MIDI over USB, but if you wanted to use some sort of USB controller with it, you'd have to have some sort of USB host device between the Helix and the controller - something like this: https://www.thomann.de/gb/kenton_midi_usb_host.htm

Or this: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MIDIExpand
