guacamolesque
Hello everyone, Just tried to update my Helix LT from 2.92 to 3.0 with HX edit 3.0 without success, the update stopped and HX Edit asked to turn off and on the Helix. https://postimg.cc/gallery/gLLdZFp I tried to put it in test mode (turn on the helix with switch 3 and 4), safe mode, factory reset... nothing works (see image link). I am running a 2020 MacBook Pro 13", with Core i7/16Go DDR4. Any suggestions ? I am getting a bit preoccupied as I had to reset it once but this time even the factory reset doesn't work. Thank you very much for your help
CraigGT
Have you tried using the Line 6 Updater to do it instead?

I just updated to v3.0 from my 2016 iMac Retina 5K (High Sierra) using HX Edit 3.0 - smoothest update ever. I’ve no idea why you would want to put your LT into “test mode” - here are the reset options. Reset Options Helix Floor/LT Button Combination Description 2 LED light Fun 3 & 4 Test Mode 5 & 6 Global reset 7 & 8 Reset setlists to factory, Keep IRs 8 & 9 Reset setlists to factory, Clear IRs 9 & 10 Reset setlists to factory, Global reset, Clear IRs 10 & 11 Upgrades existing presets to latest format 11 & 12 Clear current preset 5 & 12 Clear setlists, clear IRs, Return system settings to default 6 & 12 Safe boot mode To use Reset Options: Power off the Helix Hold the desired button combination Power on the Helix Release the button combination Please note: Buttons are numbered from top left to bottom right. FS 6 & 12 is the best bet, then re-install. Hope this helps/makes sense.
coryzilisch
My Helix is stuck as well. Firmware update to 3.0 failed. I have tried entering update mode and it just sits and does nothing. I've tried running the line 6 updater as well as the Helix edit 3.0 to update the board. I am running the Big Sur update on Mac OS.

This is something that you do at your own risk - there is a thread on here about Big Sur and how many music companies are telling their users to avoid it until further notice (or check the list on the Sweetwater site regarding BS compatibility). Some folks are managing to use Big Sur without issue and some are not - as your example shows. Line 6 sent out emails to their customers telling them not to update to BS and there is also an big orange coloured banner at the top of this page which states the same. Let's see if this helps. You say that you have tred using just the Updater without success, but I suggest you try and try again. I read somewhere that somebody had similar issues with BS, but managed get the Firmware into his Helix after several attempts. This is the official information taken from the How to Install - release notes: IMPORTANT! In the unlikely event that your update fails, please follow the steps below: Unplug the USB cable from both the back of your Helix and the computer. Turn your Helix/HX device off and on. Reconnect the USB cable to your Helix/HX device and the computer. Download, install, and launch the latest version of Line 6 Updater. In a failure state, the device will not connect to HX Edit. Line 6 Updater for macOS: https://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=9831 Line 6 Updater for Windows: https://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=9832 Select your device and try updating to the latest firmware again. If the device does not show up in Line 6 Updater after these steps, try a different USB cable and/or USB port. If it still doesn't show up, try a different computer. Sorry, but I'm afraid that's all I can offer on this. Hope this helps.
