titchyblackcat
Hi is there a way of setting up the Helix Stomp EQ for a Preset. I'm trying to set up a preset for a bass but, when i change any eq module in the edit the eq graphics in cubase don't show much change at all. For example if i use high/low cut instead of doing a cut the eq don't appear to be a cut at all.
DunedinDragon
The real question here is, does the sound of preset change?
titchyblackcat
The sound changes a little bit but i expect a cut to be a cut
codamedia
Since you don't actually say how you are setup and connected.... By chance... is the stomp connected to the computer via USB? By chance.... are you attempting to use the global EQ? If so there are many posts about this already. The global EQ does not apply to the USB output! If that is not the problem, can you provide more details... your OP is actually quite vague.
titchyblackcat
It's in to the left mono and out from the right mono. It is changing slightly but i did expect more from the eq's but i'll work with what i've got thanks.

You can be as dramatic as you want with the EQ's so something is either wrong in your setup, or wrong with the stomp. 30 minutes ago, titchyblackcat said: It's in to the left mono and out from the right mono. There is no "right/mono" on a Stomp. Why wouldn't you come out of LEFT/MONO? Coming out of the right alone may (or may not) be part of the problem. To be honest you are still not giving us nearly enough to help you. What EQ(s) are you trying? What is the rest of your chain? How are you connected to your computer? How are you getting the signal into cubase? How are you analyzing the signal in cubase? Can you share the preset with us? etc.... etc.... etc.... etc....

It's in to the left mono and out from the right mono. What is "in" to the L/MONO ? I guess you mean a bass guitar cable to the INPUT marked L/MONO as you mentioned preset for bass. What is supposed to be coming "out from the RIGHT mono". (NB: There is no Right Mono option) and where is it going? You mentioned Cubase, but how does the audio arrive in Cubase? Questions, too many questions. and not nearly enough answers. Let us see what you have got going on in the preset and please explain how your HX Stomp communicates with the DAW? titchyblackcat
OK Sorry. In Left mono and out Left Mono. Into a Native Instruments KA6 which connects to the computer. In the preset there is a amp/cab Ampeg VST Brt. Before that i'm trying the low / high cut EQ The input channel in Cubase has a GUI of the incoming signal The signal does go down maybe -5dB but it doesn't cut to the floor like i'd expect. It's OK i'll use the Cubase EQ to do it thanks.

What you're EQ'ing if you place the high/lo cut before the amp is the tone of the raw bass signal, NOT the output signal of the amp. Assuming you're using an Amp+cab block, place the EQ after that.

Easy to fix.
