Factory Setlis 1 - 3.50 vs. 3.60 same?

Hello,
did I see right:

Setlist "Factory 1" coming with 3.60 is the same as the one within 3.50?

 

Or asked in an other way - there is no preset in "Factory 1" 3.60 which includes the new amps as example - right?

What the Release Notes actually states is:

• A few 3.50 factory presets have been updated to utilize 3.60 cabs where appropriate

The easy way to check is to what is in the 3.6 Factory Setlists is check out this post.

I forgot to save them.

there were some really nice in there and i forgot to save them before upgrading to 3.6

Your 3.6 factory presets are nearly identical to the v3.5 set. The new presets in v3.6 are identified here:

However, perhaps someone can provide the v3.5 factory setlists for you.

I don’t really think you’re missing out by not having the presets from v.3.50. The whole point of firmware updates is to make improvements to the whole Helix family. Why be retrograde? As noted earlier in this thread, not much changed between 3.5 and 3.6.

 

Anyhow, if you do require someone to dig out some old factory presets for you, it might be a very good idea to let everyone know what hardware unit you have. Not all presets are the same - you cannot load full Helix presets into a HX Stomp!

 

You could actually retrieve the old presets on your own. If you really feel that you cannot live without old presets, you could downgrade your own firmware back to 3.50 and do a factory reset to bring back the presets you’re after. Then reinstall 3.6 and find that it was all just a waste of time and effort - but, if you’re a completist, that’s the way to go!

 

Is this really worth the hassle?

I guess you made a backup when updated from 3.5 to 3.6. In that case you can extract the files you want using HX Edit/Files/Extract Files From Backup. Unselect what you don’t want to have and download (Extract Files…)

 

Hope you find your preset...

In the post from @tragra the comment was, “I forgot to save them”, which seems odd, as we all know the first thing to do before an update is make a backup. Fail safe!

 

Ah, well, if someone doesn’t follow the instructions, I guess it is to be expected.

And I couldn’t even take it in that it was possible... ;-) Well accidents happen, that’s when this forum is at its best. 

 

I made the backup… :-), so extracted from HX Edit the one/Factory1 to be used if you want/need. Unzip and all the files are in the included map (original/unchanged).
