How to connect helix line 6 to a fender champion 40 amp

Do you hear sound when you use headphones connected to the Helix? Does the Helix tuner work?

Make sure the Output block on the Helix preset includes the 1/4” outputs.

When you are able to get sound from the amp you might discover that you don’t like the tone. That’s because you are using two amps in series: a modeled amp in the Helix preset feeding the preamp section of your physical amp. That typically does not sound good, and is usually addressed by using the 4CM connection method,  but that requires the amp to have an FX Loop and I don’t think your amp has one.

Hi,

Interesting first post, although whatever is supposed to be in the 2 attachments are .php files and contain nothing.

I know this may seem obvious, but you might want to investigate the Helix Owner’s Manual > Page 11 > Quick Start > Setting Proper Output Levels.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

So first check to see if you are getting anything out of your headphones. If you are, given all of the options just make sure your output is correct and the big volume knob on the Helix is turned up.. That's the first two things to do. These may sound obvious but I've been caught by both of them at one time or another.

I Googled the amp and noticed that it has an "aux" input.  This means you have an effects loop.... It just amplifies whatever you send into it: backing tracks, music from Spotify, or guitar processor output.

That's what I would personally do--I'd use this amp as a powered speaker without the internal digital amp emulation, while using Helix amps (Marshall, Vox, etc).

Champion amps are digital modelling amps...  Helix is also a modeller with many many more amp options.  So why be limited to a handful of Fender amp models, instead of using whatever Helix has?  Hence my reasoning for using it as a powered speaker and letting Helix do the actual signal processing.  All you'd need is a 1/4" female to 1/8" male adapter.
