philwatts1234
Hi, just wondered how I set helix to preserve stomp fx when changing between them. So for example I kick in a delay on a snapshot that is saved without that effect but if I switch away and come back again the delay is gone. Can I set it so it preserves that stomp without saving it like that?
Schmalle
You can prevent individual blocks from being affected by snapshots using Snapshot Bypass (an option when you select a block and press Action).

To clarify, Snapshot Bypass is set to ON (Checked in HX EDIT). Set it to OFF (UN-check it). I've always found that un-intuitive, but that's the way it is.

PaulTBaker
I believe it also may have something to do with the global snapshot settings (Recall, or discard). I you have it set to recall (you may want to check the manual to make sure I don't have it backwards), then when you go to the snapshot, it will recall whatever settings you had when you saved the snapshot. So if you had the delay on and save the snapshot, every time you engage that snapshot, the delay will be on. If you have it set to discard, then it will discard the settings from the last save and return whatever settings you had while in the snapshot... so if you turned the delay off, then when you engage the snapshot again, the delay will be off. Again, check me on this! the snapshot bypass for each block is something different. lets say you have an OD block and you uncheck the snapshot bypass on that block. Then that block will ignore any snapshot settings and always be on/off depending on you stomping on it. So again, if you have the OD block unchecked, and you turn it on. when you go to the delay snapshot, the drive will still be on.... if you go to another snapshot, the drive will STILL be on until you turn it off. At least that is my understanding of this. Hope it helps! or at least gets people to engage and yell at me for getting it backwards ;)! When set to Discard the changes you just made are discarded immediately upon leaving the snapshot, and the next time you activate the snapshot it will be restored in its last-saved state. When set to Recall the changes you just made are retained rather than discarded, and the next time you activate the snapshot those unsaved changes appear. But still you must save the preset in order to permanently store the changes.
