Can I use a Boss PSA 230S with my HX Stomp or is there another power supply that is "proofed" that can be used?
I need a second power adapter for the rehearsal room so that i only have to take the HX Stomp with me.

Hi,

Type “HX Stomp power adapter replacement” into Google and watch it light up.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

If you have an  Wall pluggable USB Power block, or a rechargeable USB Power brick, you can use a MyVolts Ripcord made for the HX Stomp. The Ripcord is a durable, inexpensive (about $25) USB to 9V 2.5mm right angle Center Positive adapter cable. It works flawlessly with the HX Stomp. Just be sure you use it with a at least a 5V 3Amp or higher USB capable source. I have two and have been using them for a few years without problem. They are available via Amazon (when not out of stock) or from the actual OEM, as well as others. Google for it.

Yes. I have one and it even works with the USB 3 of my computer.

But the Birdcord PD ➔ 9V (USB PD Voltage Converter) for USB-C is the better choice for modern USB-C PD power banks and power supplies.

Ok I am looking for:

9V 1A (1000mA)

2,5 mm Plug center negative?

Is that right?

Correct.

Don't look for the correct plug for too long, better get an adapter cable (or two, just in case). That way you should be able to use pretty much any halfway decent power supply.

Joining late but I'm wondering where the 1 amp spec comes from?  The OEM unit and the HX Stomp both say 3A.  Does it only draw 1 amp or less??

If it doesn't play from there already, go to 5:20:

1 A is the rounded up figure of the measured maximal current draw of the device.

Why Line 6 choose to print "3 A" on the HX Stomp - I don't know. But it is definitely not the actual technical current requirement.

Fwiw, I'm running my Stomp from 500mA outlets with a (dedicated, because of the utterly stupid 2.5mm barrel plug) current doubler cable ever since I got it. Has seen 3 different multiout PSUs as well. Zero issues.

And I also have a single cheap 2A PSU (10 bucks or so at Thomann) with an extra 2.5mm plug soldered onto it, which I'm using whenever I need the Stomp as a standalone unit. No issues, either.

Thanks for the clarification. It did seem like 3A was an awful lot for the unit. I found a (hopefully) quality 3A unit on Amazon which is already here and already working fine. But I just hate the barrel connector and sure wish there had been room for an honest to god AC plug on the Stomp. I know its the base model, etc but its not really a piece of pro gear imho if its dependent on that kind of connector. The form factor fits my needs tho, so I will repair the original wall wort as a backup and then shut up and play my guitar. (I have the exact Fluke multimeter in the video and it is a rock solid piece of gear!)

An internal AC power supply would make no sense on a unit such as the Stomp. A) It'd add to the size and weight. B) This is meant to be pedalboard-friendly and most people running somewhat larger pedalboards already have a multiout PSU, so all you need is likely a current double and an adapter plug (the latter obviously being just because of Line 6's stupid decision to use a non-standard barrel plug).
