jealousblues
Hi, one of my 3 JTV 59s I have been using for my job has what appears to be a broken 3 way switch. As I said in the title the switch does change the magnetic pickups but not the variax models. The model selector knob does cycle b/t different guitars and the detune knob works as it should. I know the guitars are discontinued and I dont see the switch for sale anywhere on line (that is in stock). Does L6 still make (or have in inventory) this switch so if I send my guitar to a L6 partnered repair shop it can be replaced? The board on my switch says "13 Jan 2011" Im not sure if thats the old switch or the new one. Here are some imgur pics Thanks
silverhead
I would open a support ticket. They’re the ones who would know. It might not be the switch itself. Since it’s working for the mags it may be sending the right signals to the modeling electronics. There could be a fault at that point, either hardware or firmware. It might be worth reinstalling the Variax firmware to see if that corrects some corruption. If not the support ticket is your best option. psarkissian
Typically, a solder point or two. Early 2012 build, so a couple of solder points on the 3-way switch may be oxidizing after 12 years. Recommend an authorized service center in your area or log a support ticket like silverhead suggested.
jealousblues
Thanks for your replies so far. One question I have is does line 6 still make (or have stock) of the 3 way toggle? in case that is the issue.
psarkissian
Still available, don't know what the stock level is. Best to have an authorized service center check it out, maybe it's just solder points or maybe it needs replacing. Best let the service center deal with it. It can be a finicky switch if you don't know how to deal with it.

jerseyboy
Having 3 is a good place to start for critical performance work. I’ve been in similar situation dating back to the 10’s - present. Our good man psarkissian can work miracles in CA. Well worth the shipment if local help is not available. Reverb can help with guitar shipping, btw. psarkissian
Thank you jerseyboy. A 12 year old 59P,... I can deal with it for you. For that, log a Support ticket in your account to contact Line 6 for a return authorization. They will contact you with options.
