boynigel
at approximately 4:24, Eric says, "you can train better models". What exactly does he mean by that?

I understand it in a way that the source capture will be generated straight on the unit, but you could as well send it to the cloud (given the unit is connected) and use their servers for optimization (which is pretty much what ToneX does, just that it doesn't generate captures on it's own, it's all cloud based).
talwilkins
I think it's a bit like the Kemper Profiler. You will be able to capture a real amp and make a model from it. You can use the cloud servers for computing power.

Quoting myeelf, but it seems I was wrong. Apparently capture creation seems to be an exclusive online process (same goes for stem splitting). We can only hope they manage to somehow store the capture data on the unit, though, until you're ready to upload - I mean, at least over here there's quite some places (basement rehearsal rooms or studios) with no sufficient internet connection you could connect the Stadium to. Hi, Just a thought or two on the new devices. I also had a similar thought about this "Proxy" and "Stem Splitting" Cloud system. Even though we are a quarter of the way into this 21st century, there are some places in the world where good WiFi signals are still not available. I wonder what provision, if any, is made for a situation such as these that we have both envisaged? I guess if you don't have the WiFi, you won't have the facility to use any of it. First world problem, hmm...? I guess if you can afford to but a new Stadium XL, then getting your internet connection fixed will not be an issue. Everyone seems to have become very excited about these Cloning, Showcase and Splitting options, but all of these "flagship features" will not be in the first version of the firmware and according to Digital_Igloo should be available in 2026. In typical Eric fashion, he didn't specify any specific quarter/month in 2026, so it may be a year, or even more, before it becomes fully implemented in the Stadium units. Essentially the "early adopters" will have 16 "Agoura" rigs, plus everything from OG Helix models, including the FX - again Eric said that there are no plans for Agoura only FX, but that actually any new ones will be made available to run on the existing Helix platform anyway. I'm usually one to be on the bleeding edge of technology, but I think I might sit back from this one for quite some time, as once again, Eric pointed out during his keynote in the livestream - some of the stuff shown was still in the Photoshop mock-up stage.

Nah. Seriously, there's just some places (such as my old music refuge) with pretty much no internet access and no "fixing" options, either. That's interesting - where did he say that?
PaulTBaker
He did mention somethings will come later, he also said that they will reveal new "stuff" when the units are available for purchase. You will still have more options for footswitches. I always seem to just need one more effect! this will give me that. Also, I love having the Info or Notes on each patch.... and a new filing system. I wonder if we can sort by last edited date? Also, did anyone else hear (or was this wishful thinking on my part) him say that changes made to a template will push out to the others? Meaning, if I have an amp set as a template (or favorite), then I can make a change to the amp (more bass) and it will push out to every patch that is using that template amp? Or effect? That would be nice.

Same. I'm going to wait for a more realized version, especially since these days 90% of the time my LT is used solely for effects and controlling my Suhr PT15. Hopefully the price doesn't go up in that time. Helix prices stayed pretty stable over its run, so there's that.
