Stadium XL update 1.2 problem

Earlier today I responded to a topic that was about problems with the installing the new update.  That topic is now gone???  Very Strange . . . 

 

But moving on:  I ran my update over the WIFI and the update stopped at the "Helix Stadium XL" screen and did nothing at that point.  I waited for almost 1.5 hours for something to happen.  Send a support ticket because I did not want to brick the unit.  Realized that it could be days before I got a response, so I turned off the Stadium and turned it back on again.  To my surprise (and joy) the unit came up with the 1.2 version installed.

 

So anyone getting stuck at the last screen (the " ><  HELIX Stadium XL")   I would suggest you give that a try.  I think the only bad result is you may have to reinstall you last backup.   I really don't know if that would be the result - but this is what happened to me.  Hope this helps someone.

I'd also like to know hat happened to the post I responded to???

@Nos402Hmmm...  I had no notification that the tread was "deleted".  In any case ... we both had our problems solved.  Could I be so bold to suggest next time, just update the post and if someone else has the same problem, they could benefit from what you posted.

I did consider it, but I just figured "Oh I was just dumb and didn't look at the release notes."

You'll be prompted to login after you connect to WiFi. If you're not seeing that and you're on the home screen, tap the hamburger menu you'll see "Log In" on the right side.

Grab the 1.2.0 Stadium Editor. It's bundled with the latest Windows driver for Stadium.

I haven't tried with the v1.2 yet but with v1.1 on a Windows PC AND installing the ASIO driver after the amp only using the USB-C from the Stadium to the USB-C connection on my PC, playing YouTube vids to play along with works great.  I use my headphones for playback.

Note to all,

 

For clarity and focus it may be best to start a new thread if the topic of the question you have doesn't directly relate to the the OP (original poster) Topic (in this case "Stadium XL update 1.2 problem").  Just a thought.

I could not get my helix to update from 1.1 to 1.2  using wireless. It kept saying connect to the internet to update even though it was connected to wireless.  Tried using the windows helix stadium app to update the helix ( asio drivers are installed) and every time I connect the usb to the PC it crashes the Helix stadium app.

 

Finally got things working by doing a factory reset and going through the update process that way. 

 

Also, even though I have the asio drivers installed, the helix doesn't show up in the usb devices list when it is connected via usb to the PC, even after the 1.2 update

I had no problem downloading firmware 1.2 over wifi and installation was easy. But 1.2 had serious issues, I filed a ticket with Line 6. No answer yet. My solution to the problem was to install Line 6 Central on my laptop, boot Stadium XL in maintenance mode and disable wifi and bluetooth, reset to factry settings. Restart and reinstall firmware 1.2 over USB. That seems to work.
