Marcus2323
The update over wifi worked like a charm. Router is in the basement and the Stadium XL was at the kitchen table. Love the way the updates are now. Thanks Line 6 for such a great product that will get even better over time. I am looking forward to the stem splitting capabilities when that gets introduced. Cheers!
adflaker
I do love the update process. Super nice that I don't have to be attached to a computer to do it any more!
guighfunky
I cannot update. Tried via WIFI, it says "Download Failed! code: -103". Tried via USB, I get "Something went wrong. Response: -4"
Nos402
When I was browsing the release notes, it seemed as if when you clone it, you are cloning it as a snapshot of wherever the setting are at that time, is that correct? Or is there some way to clone it where you will have full range of the controls like "Gain, tone" etc.? Or is it just "Pedal cloned with gain at 5, tone at 5" for example? tmlambert
It's a snapshot of the settings, but you do get to dial in pre-gain, post-gain, bass, mids, and treble. It is the same for all modelers as far as I know. what is interesting and I plan on testing is that when you add a clone block the block has a dropdown to select the capture. If that selection is assignable by snapshot that would be a whole new concept (I'll be surprised if that is the case).

I think that a clone change via Snapshots won't happen until/unless you can also change amps. Here's a snip from the manual section on Snapshots: The only thing your octopuses/snapshots can’t do is rearrange your pedalboard or swap out an effect or amp for a different one (unless both effect or amp blocks exist in the same preset). Reason is that DSP requirements are calculated based on the selected blocks in a preset. Snapshots aren't able to change that. I expect that clones, like amps, have varying DSP requirements. Yes, after looking more closely, there is no snapshot only where you select which clone you want to use. i was hoping you could make 3 clones (clean, edge of breakup, driven) and use that as a channel switcher. No big deal, capture at edge of breakup, and either use the guitar volume or pre-gain on the clone for clean tones.

It may still be a few more months in the making. Until then I am holding off on cloning my main analog rig. The above information will be of value for my first test. Thank you for the feedback. One question I have ... Do you have the ability to change microphones and/or placement & direction similar to the amp/speaker combo blocks? jpd

dandesy
You can use multiple clones/amps in a preset (up to four Proxy or Agoura) and switch blocks. That’s pretty much the exact same thing.
