Nos402
I hadn't tried to use workbench in quite a long time. I installed it on my latest PC today and cannot get it to work at all. The Variax interface is green on both sides so it is seeing my Variaxes (both on the last firmware) but workbench HD doesn't see anything. Line 6 Monkey won't log in (and doesn't give the Variax as a device option) and just says it can't connect. Line 6 license manager also says it can't connect. Line 6 Central says this machine isn't authorized, and I click "Authorize" it spins for a second and says it is syncing licenses and then nothing happens. It still say this machine is not authorized. Any ideas? Both my JTV-69 and my Standard get the same results. I've also restarted my machine after installation of the programs.
psarkissian
To authorize, try Central's sign in, it should authorize it then.

I log in to central, it says my computer is not authorized, so I click "Authorize" and it says "syncing licenses" up top and "Authorizing computer" underneath. The "syncing licenses" goes away but the "Authorizing computer" never goes away and it just continues to say "no license data available." If I go back to the home screen it still shows my computer as "not authorized."
psarkissian
It should not do that, log a Support ticket.

psarkissian
Don't run Central and Workbench HD at the same time, it confuses the apps as to what they're doing in which app.
Nos402
I don't. I was just seeing if central would recognize the Variax. New twist, all works fine on my laptop, so it's something specific to my desktop (both Windows 11). So far my support ticket is going nowhere sadly. Last response (before the update about my laptop) was that it must be my guitar and to take it to a service center. I have two Variaxes and both behave exactly the same. Nos402
I just noticed the Variax USB Interface has a "!" in the Device Manager! I uninstalled it and then reinstalled the Variax USB Interface Drivers from the Line 6 Downloads section, but it still shows with a "!". So that's likely the issue though I'm not sure what else to do to solve it.
Nos402
When I click on it in Device Manager it says "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)" in case that helps. Nos402
SOLVED! Wow what a bunch of hoops I had to jump through. 1. I had to "manage bitlocker" in windows settings to "suspend bitlocker" on my drive. 2. windows update>Advanced options>recovery>advanced startup and clicked "Restart" there. 3. On the startup screen "Troubleshoot>Advanced options> Startup settings" then restart again. 4. Option 7 on the startup screen "Disable driver signature enforcement" Then I logged in as normal, reinstalled the Variax USB Interface drivers and Workbench recognized my Variax.
silverhead
Wow! That’s persistence! Glad you finally got it working, and thanks for sharing the successful recipe. Might be useful for others.

Having been Line 6 user for over 12 years, I am writing my first ever post on this forum to say thank you. Thank you very much! After going round the houses for hours and trying many things, this was the solution that finally got my JTV connected to my computer. For me, I skipped step one as I am not on a Windows 11 version that has those bitlocker settings. I followed all the other steps and it still worked like a charm. From what I've read in various recent posts on this topic, I suspect this "fix" may work for many others.
bbehrens
I was finally able to use the Variax USB Interface cable to connect to Line 6 Monkey AND to Line 6 Central AFTER I... 1. Disabled Windows 11 Core Isolation Memory Integrity protection. And this has to STAY OFF until you forcefully use Powershell commands to rip out the L6SM64.sys located in C:\Windows\system32\drivers and run a Powershell command to remove this file since it can not be simply deleted. 2. Re-Enable Local Security Authority Protection that will prevent unsigned drivers from loading into the Local Security Authority. I am not sure about bit-locker as I do not have that enabled on my local computer. I am sure that the local hackers LOVE this kind of information too! Also, I can not use HX Edit at the same time as Workbench HD like I used to either. I am still not sure if this is related to the drivers required for Stadium and the Stadium Editor as they have their own ASIO and Line 6 drivers. Yamahahahaha leaves a bad taste in my hardware. I "used" to endorse the Revstar.

Thank you sir! Oddly, when I plugged everything in this AM and opened Workbench HD, it saw and connected to my JTV immediately. Go figure!
