clay-man
Takes a lot of force to push it in while sitting down, like, a lot. Any way to adjust this or do I just have to deal with it?
Brazzy
I think you would have to modify the switch. Can you assign the change to a foot switch instead?
edstar1960
Not that I am aware of - but if anyone knows then I would sure like to know how to make it easier. I have just had to put up with standing up and using my full weight to push down the EXP toe switch.
TheRealZap
have you tried adjusting the pedal? not sure if that will affect how easily the foot switch depresses or not... but you're using that to push the switch... so i'd try the old allen wrench just to see if it made any difference. BillBee
I hear what you are saying about the toe pressure - My 13's have an issue if sitting in a chair (no leverage) but over time, with use, the switch seemed to loosen up a bit.
clay-man
Thanks for the replies. Definitely not very easy sitting down. I get it though, so you don't accidentally hit the switch using the expression. Very easy to push when standing, hard to push when sitting down. xxxsoundxxx
Mine has gotten easier with use. Still hard when sitting especially on a rug.It feels like it has some spring action I'm guessing will wear in to let it push easier. keep stomping on it. dbagchee
I've found that if you really accentuate the force at the top edge of the pedal it makes it a little easier to switch it while sitting. I think they've used that same switch forever (since the first Pod expression pedal days) because every pedal has been the same and I've gotten used to it after 10+ years. I just recently got a "real" wah pedal and I'm actually shocked by how easy it is to switch ha ha.
Brazzy
It's shame they didn't mount the switch a little closer to the fulcrum. That would've made it a bit better, IMO.
BillBee
L6 could have gone the route of DT and others and let the user assign the pressure needed to activate the switch. Its a little thing and not a deal breaker but still. -B

clay-man
I imagine the switch is digital, so no pressure sensitivity. I never had an expression pedal until now so I wouldn't know how easy a typical one is to press. It's one of the reasons I got the POD, for wahs/expressions both in the POD in my VST plugins. Fun stuff.
BillBee
Ok, personally I prefer to keep my HD500 as it is, but some of you could be interested in the solution described in this thread: http://line6.com/support/topic/2686-pod-hd500-expression-pedal-adjustment/ Good luck ;) Ahhhh Nico!!! Great memory but I will keep the HD500 away from screwdrivers, knives and reflashes! Hmmmm I could just add some pounds to me :) -Bill
Brazzy
I would imagine that the rubber that stops the plunger from hitting the button is there to keep a loud noise from happening if it gets slammed before actually making the switch. I like mine the way it is. Also it'll eventually wear in, since it's rubber were dealing with here.

It works like a charm now. Just enough to make sitting fine, just a little so that it doesn't accidentally switch when using it standing up. Since mine is used, I have no problem removing some of something as minor as a rubber stopper.
