Thanks for the advice. I have one near me so I'll swing by sometime soon and see if this happens on the actual pedal. If it doesn't I guess I'll reach out to Line 6 directly. Thanks!

Impossible to upload WAV files to Helix Stadium XL
silverhead replied to buizerd's topic in Helix Stadium
Weird. I would open a support ticket. Meanwhile you could try reinstalling the firmware. Start up Stadium in Maintenance mode first and Create Backup. Use Line 6 Central to reinstall firmware. Then startup in Maintenance mode again to Restore Factory Defaults, Restore Backup, then Shutdown. Just for completeness I would reinstall the Stadium app as well.- 4 replies

Impossible to upload WAV files to Helix Stadium XL
buizerd replied to buizerd's topic in Helix Stadium
Just checked the SD card: Funnily everything I uploaded is on there. The files just do not show up on the Stadium itself. Does anyone have a clue? I just tried with another SD card: Same problem....- 4 replies

neilemborgo started following M5 No DSP Audio Output — True Bypass Works
-
Hello guys! I’m looking for help diagnosing my Line 6 M5 that currently has no DSP audio output. Current symptoms: * Pedal powers on normally * LCD/display works * Presets change normally * True bypass works perfectly * DSP bypass has NO output * Most effects have no sound at all * Some distortion/OD/filter effects produce very weak low-volume output * Delay/reverb/modulation effects are completely silent Additional important detail: Originally, the pedal would randomly RESET/reboot whenever changing presets. After opening the backplate and pressing/reseating some ribbon cables/connectors, the reset issue disappeared completely. So now: * preset changing is stable * but DSP audio is still basically dead Things I already tried: * different known-good 9V center-negative adapters * Zoom G3Xn adapter * factory reset * cleaned ribbon cable contacts/connectors with isopropyl alcohol * reseated internal ribbon cables multiple times * tested left mono input/output only What still works: * true bypass path * pedal boots normally * UI/display/controls all work What does NOT work: * DSP processed signal path Questions for experienced M5 repairers: 1. Are there known common failure points on the M5 that match these symptoms? 2. Which voltage rails should I check first? 3. Any known bad capacitors or regulators on the M5? 4. Has anyone seen “true bypass works but DSP path silent” before? 5. Could a ribbon/header issue still cause this even after reseating? 6. Is there a service manual or board schematic available anywhere? Any advice would really help be fore I start deeper component-level troubleshooting. Thanks!

manual and list for spider valve 112 bognor
silverhead replied to sixtyfive1's topic in Spider Valve
Is this it? It says MKII not Bogner and I'm not sure if it's the one you're looking for. https://line6.com/legacy/sv112 .... but it's currently returning the dreaded 404. Not sure if that's temporary. Open a support ticket. -
The Line 6 site no longer seems to have a manual online for the Spider Valve 112 Bogner (when you click it says 'cannot be found' or some such nonsense), and i have long lost mine. Does anyone have one to share? Also would love a list of the ~300 different models and how they are organized. Thx for your help.

Can Stadium connect to a mobile phone hotspot?
littlespaceman replied to littlespaceman's topic in Helix Stadium
Great, thank you -
The following is a bit theoretical but may be useful for you….. You know from using any guitar tuner that standard tuning is A440. That’s the frequency of the A note on the 5th fret of the 1st (high E) string. An octave in music is a doubling of the frequency. Hence the A note on the 2nd fret of the 3rd string has a frequency of 220, and the open A 5th string is 110. The 17th fret of the 1st string is 880. When you want to have those frequencies ‘cut through’ make sure you make them prominent in your EQ settings. The most common way to do this is to cut adjacent frequencies rather than boost those frequencies, but you can do either or a combination of both. I like to use a parametric EQ to let me select specific frequencies to target . Experiment with the Q value to broaden or narrow the effective frequency range. Relatively small adjustments of 2-5 db can make a big difference to the tone. For each song solo think about where you are playing on the fretboard and what frequency range is involved. Focus on making those frequencies prominent. It may be different for different songs; it may even be different for each song section. That’s where Snapshots come in really handy; a Verse snapshot and a Lead snapshot with different EQ settings. A small lead boost is helpful too but frequencies are important. As already mentioned interactions with your bass player can muddy the low end. Understand the frequencies they are using in each song and leave that range to them; cut those in your guitar tone - not so much that they are gone but enough that they don’t interfere. Hope this is helpful and doesn’t come across as stating the obvious.

Thank you. You have given me a place to start.

I compared a couple of the other OD's including the MOD version and I see what you mean. I've never used a DS1 IRL, so I don't know if this is normal. The only way I see to know is to get a DS1 and test it ITRW. If you have GC near you it will likely have a BOSS demo station - most of them do - and you could use that to test one out. If you're in the US you could also call support and ask them about it. Good Luck!

Can Stadium connect to a mobile phone hotspot?
rwandering replied to littlespaceman's topic in Helix Stadium
Yes, I have done this successfully. -
Hi rd2rk, I really appreciate your reply. I wasn’t aware you could tie two blocks together in a footswitch, I’ll have to look into that! However, I don’t think gain staging or the typical compression that occurs with distortion is the issue. Even without any amps, preamps, or cabs in the chain, the DS1 hard caps the volume significantly. In looking to troubleshoot this issue I’ve learned a lot about gain staging, but none of it seems to really help the issue. The DS1 seems to have a hard limit it won’t go above, which is quite strange.

As the title says. Can it do this or does it have to be a regular WiFi network? Currently away from home so don’t have the unit with me to try it.

I pre-ordered mine June 2025 when I pre-ordered the Stadium. I really miss controlling my Variax with the Helix. I guess I shouldn't have sold my Helix Floor so quick.

The volume of the Stadium, or any other guitar multi-processor device, doesn’t really affect the ability for a guitar to ‘cut through’ in a band mix on stage. Volume is less critical than EQ, making sure the guitar frequencies are highlighted. A guitar tone that sounds great while practicing alone won’t necessarily cut through on stage. I suggest you experiment in rehearsal with the band to find better EQ settings for your preset(s). Or make a recording of certain songs or just song sections with everyone in the band playing except you. Then take that home and experiment with adding your guitar to the mix. Focus on the mid range where the guitar shines and cut the low end to get rid of muddiness that results from fighting with your bass player for those frequencies. You could use Global EQ for this but that’s really intended to be adjusted to suit different venues you may play in rather than to compensate for all presets. Learn the EQ settings that work with your band and apply those to all presets. Might be helpful to get your drummer to play less aggressively but good luck with that.

The art of "Gain Staging". Generally speaking, when you add gain (level) sufficient to push an amp or effect circuit past it's "clean headroom" level, the circuit "compresses" - the output volume lowers. Different overdrive/distortion circuits work differently with different amps/effects depending upon the amp/effect circuit's available "clean headroom" in relation to the pedal's output. If you like the sound of a certain overdrive into a certain amp but want a volume boost when you kick in the overdrive, place a GAIN block AFTER the amp and tie the pedal and GAIN block to a single FS. You can also use the amp's CHANNEL VOLUME the same way. Be aware that the added volume boost after the amp will affect every effect downstream of the boost. You may need to place the boost farther down the signal chain to avoid that. The art of "Gain Staging". IOW - it's not a bug, it's just the way things work. Not every pedal sounds good with every amp.

I put a new song in my music website called "Seen With Your Eyes"; it's the song on top. Part of the song uses Tonex guitar amp modeling for guitar, and another part of the song uses Helix guitar amp modeling for guitar. Can you tell which is which? Please tell me how you like the song, and how it can be improved, and I can return the favor if you wish! Leave me a link if you don't have a recent link. GrungeyGuitar started following DS1 capping volume

Hi! This is my first time on the forums here, so sorry if I’m not doing this right. I just got Helix Native and am in love right now! All the amps and pedals I wish I had irl are great to play with. However, I have had some issues with the Helix model of the DS-1, one of the pedals I most want to use. I should mention I don’t own the pedal irl, so my frame of reference for what it should sound like is based solely on demo videos I’ve seen and the DS2 that I do own. Anyways, I was really hoping to be able to set the level on the pedal well above my clean signal in order to get a quiet-loud sound when the pedal is stomped on and off, but it unfortunately seems that I can barely get above unity gain most of the time. The problem is fairly amp dependent. Some amps (like the Solo lead clean), so long as the amp drive is set fairly low, allow the pedal to push out a nice volume differential. But most amps I try- or if I use the pedal by itself- either barely hit unity gain, or actually reduce in volume with the pedal on, even at max level. Weirder still, the pedal seems to be operating as a hard volume cap. If I place a boost pedal after the DS1, the volume gets boosted no problem. However, if I place a boost before the pedal, or if I boost input gain in helix, no change is made to the volume whatsoever. This is strange, since I can have the boost pedal up at max or push input gain until it starts clipping (which raises the volume substantially when the pedal is off), but as soon as I turn the DS1 on in front of it my volume drops back down. This doesn’t seem to happen with any other distortion pedals in Helix. The exact volume it caps at is somewhat variable, but usually around unity gain when I set my input level within the optimum range (-36 to -18 db). Any help here would be greatly appreciated! This feels like a bug, but I felt I should check here first since the weird behavior is pretty confusing. It’s not a huge deal, but since I was looking forward to getting a Nirvana like “quiet-loud” sound with this pedal specifically, finding out what’s going on here would be really helpful!

With the new Stadium has anything changed with regards to how you setup your stage volume? I'm still having a hard time cutting through live drums on stage even with two Power Cab Plus speakers. Is anyone changing parameters in the global settings that they could share here?
